New Bioware IP

I have no idea where else to have this thread.

David Gaider recently left the Dragon Age team to work on a mysterious new IP.

Mostly I'm hoping for less focus on exploration and grinding, DAI really was exhausting and IMO Bioware's strengths were not played up in that game at all. With ME4 also teasing planet exploration, I'm really hoping this new IP will be more focused on what Bioware is good at.

But I'm excited. Bioware needs a new IP anyway, and David Gaider is a great writer and will do well.

Thoughts? Predictions? Wishlists? Pre-Order cancellation threats?

Lol seems like a lot of iconic people are leaving BioWare of late. Thanks EA.

I heard it was going to be Bioware's answer to the Sims. All the romance, all the drama and very little violence. In short, it will have everything needed to make a great game with none of the boring filler.

OOOH, Call on me!

So Biwoare has done high fantasy, scifi, kungfu, and mecha games. What they havent done is a urban fantasy game. It would be awesome if they did something in line with the Dresden Files, kinda of like a multiplayerless Shadow Realm.

Or maybe he was tired of working on a franchise for close to a decade and wanted to move on to a new IP?

He is still working there.

Nah, it was definitely Obama's fault.

The reaction from the fanbase would be amazing.

multiplayerless?  Fat chance of that, I'd say.

So, it's a new IP so it's not the new Star Wars product.  Hmm.  My guess is that it will still be within the bounds of fantasy, but that doesn't stop it from having sci-fi elements (he did write for KOTOR, but Star Wars is really fantasy disguised as scifi).

Hey, I can dream. urban fantasy would be awsome, with inspirations from either Shadowrun, Dresden Files, or Age of X

I don't know what this new IP is, but I hope they don't have romances in it and that it takes place in a modern setting or a non-Tolkienesque fantasy world.

Will I romance Cassandra Saturn or TheBunz?

Many decisions lie ahead, none of them easy.

I would love to see a BioWare title in the urban fantasy genre, and yes Dresden Files is just the right amount of dark, but not gritty and depressing dark that BioWare typically shoots for.

I wouldn't remove the MP though, playing the Dresden Files table top RPG with my friends was some of better times as a PnP gamer for me.

EDIT:

I still remember my character I made for our campaign. I was Tic Tock Croc, the Guardian of the Spring Court known as 'Neverland'.

I love the tabeltop for Dresden Files, just finished reading Skin Game. But yes, I feal that an sarcastic urban fantasy could work wonders with Bioware

He is still with Bioware, he is just working an a new I.P. for them (I might have took your comment the wrong way, not sure ).

Patrick Weekes is now in charge of Dragon Age's writing, he "wrote the Rannoch and Tuchanka story arcs of Mass Effect 3  and the Here Lies the Abyss quest in Dragon Age: Inquisition. He also [sic] also written the novel Dragon Age: The Masked Empire and the comic Mass Effect: Homeworlds #2."
