It really is the worst hair in all of gaming.  The weird thing is that this is the same company that owns the SIMS which has every hairstyle in the world.

I think it's on purpose to mess with us.  I mean...this is like the most horrible, ugly horrific choices for anyone who isn't either a Judas Priest fan or ultra butch and even then my butch friend was like it's way too much bald.

At this point I'd take Anora's low fake Princesss Leia's buns.

I mean, okay, still ranting but DA:2 had MUCH better hairstyles so they went backwards graphically.

As many have said: I LOVE this game. Like, man o man do I love it. And the character creator is very impressive.

But, my god, the hair. There's no getting around it. It's just bad. In terms of both quantity and quality.

What even ARE some of these hair styles??

We get a dozen male pattern buzz cuts (that female characters are forced to use), a handful of hipster do's that look utterly out-of-place, and the rest look more at home on David Bowie than on a fantasy character. It's beyond pitiable. It's deplorable. Origins had more and better hair options than this.

Again, I love the game, can;t say that enough.

But Bioware, PLEASE if you're listening we all need more and better hair.

I have faith they'll deliver on this front. Recent patches have added a lot of features and other inclusions that are straight off of these forums. I hope we see more hairs included with the Black Emporium update, as that seems like the ideal time to add some. But if we don't I'll keep hoping for more hair down the road.

'Cuz what we've got now just sucks :/

I think what makes it even more disappointing is the hairstyles they teased/showed us pre-launch were soooo cool. With all of the braids and stuff. Despite the positive feedback, all three didn't make it into the finished game, but about twelve buzz cuts did...

Maybe some intern spilled coffee on the hair generating Software two days before the game was to be shipped and well they had to improvise..

Would explain Solas.

Yeh, he's like a lovable Nosferatu.  He would have looked hot as a Thranduil type of elft, but we get another bald elf dude.  How is it that every other fantasy anything at all has elves with hair?  Lots and lots of hair.

I'm guessing they had serious issues with helmets... That really is the only thing i can come up with, with why they have such haircuts..

Nope, not fixed yet.  We still have the same (mostly) crappy hairstyles to choose from and Females (in general) and Qunari Females (in particular) really got shafted, especially considering that the IN GAME TAROT CARD shows Qunari with long hair...Thanks for crushing our hopes, Bioware...

Panda created a thread (a while ago) regarding Qunari Hairstyles:  Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

if anyone is interested in checking it out...

what I'm really annoyed about is the absolutely absence of answers from the devs. Like "why did you choose to make the big mayority of the hairstyles with such hight hairline (that make the forehead enormous) or with blatant male baldness, expecially knowing that the hairstyles would have been unisex?

In my opinion, I think the hair in Inquisition is the worst of the series. Origins had a decent mix of short, medium, long and tied up/back. Some were neat, some were messy. There was something to fit each character. DA:2 added on these, but a lot of them (again, my opinion) were more "here's some NPC hair that you can also wear!" (like the balding monk style), but still, they added to the range.

I feel the main problem with Inquisition is the whole "We're catering to all genders" thing. Making hairstyles available to both genders, while good, seems to have limited their creativity. "Oh, we have to have them quite basic so they make sense. No guy is going to want a long bob, and girls don't want a DiCAprio-style middle parting". Also, trying to make the hairstyles more 'modern' was a mistake. The game is basically medieval. Why does my character have a hipster hairstyle?

I don't see why catering to all genders should necessitate a limitation of creativity. There's nothing stopping them from making one extreme (masculine) to the other (feminine) of hairstyle types and just letting the player pick whatever hair they want for their character.

Consider Saints Row 4's CC. No matter what gender you chose, you were able to select any hairstyle you want. If that meant you wanted to go with bouncy, braided pigtails but look like a giant beefy dude - so be it. Have fun! You know?

There's no reason to be restrictive on hairstyles due to gender. If that is what the devs are doing then they are being less open minded about gender and style. I suspect it isn't about trying to be gender neutral - it's about being... well... punctual under EA's ticking watch. Thus... they designed less hairstyles and made them neutral to make it appear that there are more options.

DAI already has long hair options, not many but two or three. It'd be nice if there was longer one's than shoulder-lenght, but just look how much everything clips in the game, long hair wouldn't work.

Uniforms are unisex so I'm actually happy that female Inquisitor don't have dress when everyone else in Inquisitor has uniform. It would have been nice to be able to have options for the uniform though.

The crazy braided up-do thing that Scout Harding has is definitely long hair, as is Dagna's bun. :P

There is no way i will replay this game until the hair is fixed.  period.

But then, I already bought the game, so why should they care?

I seriously doubt they will ever fix this for us.  It is up to modders.  And from what i hear, it is very difficult for modders to get into this locked up game to do great hair mods.

My question is...why?  Why give us bad hair and force us to just live with it?  I don't get it.

And in regards to "long hair"...long hair styles in braids that have manly sideburns, NECK hair, and result in a GIANT forehead...these are not long hair choices.  It's almost like they wanted to make fun of female players who like long hair.  "Oh, you want long hair...enjoy the neck and sideburn hair that come with it.  That's what you get for wanting to be feminine."

And seriously, the guys should be pissed too.  There are only 2 good styles for guys, although the second feels like is belongs in Mass effect, not this game, but still...it will do.  All the others make them look old (balding) or silly (swooped hair to the side with skrillex shave...great...just great).  Ugg...I can't even create a hot man to play!!  What a waste of a decent CC.

I'm honestly not picking a Qunari because of the hair.  I've had four female Inquisitors and can only bring myself to use two of the hairstyles on them.  The "sassy pixie" and the "side part bob".  I don't even like the updos.

Also, what happened to Hawke's hair in this game?  Morrigan still has her signature hair.  Hawke was so adorable with her long sideswept bangs and short sassy cut.  In this game her hair is just a whole lot of no.  I modify her to the "sassy pixie", but it's still not her hair.

I'll be happy as long as they fix the ridiculous amount of shiny hair. This is black, for god's sake. Why does hair in this game look like the characters used all the conditioner in the world and then some?

A "true black" hair color, or a convincing dark/light brown would be appreciated, too. Alongside some good haristyles. Some braids, some chin lenght hair. not only for female, but for males too. A hight ponytail, the most simple thing ever!!!

Well that's medium length hair. In the world of hair there is short hair, medium length hair, and long hair. ;)

I long since abandoned my female qunari because the hair options are so hideous. That and the romance options for a straight female qunari. Just... no.

There is also up-do's that would be from medium to long when un-done. There is ponytail one, bun one and braid one. So overall I'd say there is less short hairstyles than medium to long one's (I see everything that touches shoulders as long) unless you count butch haircuts as short. I don't now what I should even count them as cause butch-cut is butch-cut :P I think those hairstyles should have been limited to max 3 and more good hairstyles should have been done.

Though it's still qunari hair I have most problems with. Seriously only 4 hairstyles for female and 5 for male (bald included).
