Exactly. Hell, the Black Emporium is taken straight out of suggestions form these very forums.

Well, the Black Emporium was first introduced in DA2 and was available for free, assuming you purchased the game new at retail.  Activating the Online Pass, which EA has since thankfully abandoned, granted you access to The Black Emporium.  Anyone who purchased a used copy of DA2 (Xbox 360 / PS3) whose Online Pass had already been redeemed, would have had to pay $10.00 USD to purchase an Online Pass.  Once EA abandoned the Online Pass, The Black Emporium was made available separately as Free DLC.  Given how popular TBE was in DA2, and given how many people have suggested / hoped for / asked about it for DAI, Bioware probably should have included it in vanilla DAI.  It is likely that Bioware simply didn't have the time to include it in vanilla DAI, due to higher priority items.  I don't know for certain and am admittedly speculating on that point.

Whatever the case may be, I just hope Bioware releases The Black Emporium as Free DLC in the not-too-distant future.  However, if Bioware ends up making substantial additions to TBE to include (among other features) new cosmetic features (read: better hairstyles including actual long hair for Females and Qunari), then I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable price (perhaps $5.00 - $10.00 USD) for it, depending upon what it actually includes.  If TBE ends up being included as part of larger, story-based DLC, then the price I would be willing to pay / would consider reasonable would probably be in the $10.00 - $20.00 USD price range, depending of course upon the content included.  I would be very very disappointed in Bioware ends up releasing TBE, without any new features and by itself (not as part of story-based DLC), and then ends up charging for it.  If that happens, I will likely take a pass on it at least until there is a sale on the Xbox Marketplace.

I as well was completely disheartened last November when it became apparent that DAI's hair selection was severely under cared for. Hair selection is something that ever developer crafting a rpg experience should take consideration for, as the general player base will never say no to a welcomed variety of unique styles. As for now iv'e put off my first full playthrough of the game in hopes of awaiting a chance release of some form of new hair content. Very eagerly curious to see what BioWare's new black emporium might bring in this.

The selection of hairstyles is also in my humble opninion, unsatisfactory. I like playing an Elven inquisitor, only to find there are no real 'Elfy' hairstyles. I would like to see this expanded in a future patch, maybe with some added schematics and a new selectable outfit(s) for Skyhold. I've played through this game twice now, and have encountered numerous bugs, glitches , crashes, freezes etc. I realise making DLC costs money, but it would be a good gesture from EA to release this DLC for free as Ubisoft did with the Dead Kings DLC after the Assassins Creed: Unity debacle.

I'd be less pissed off about the lack of options if there wasn't serious male pattern baldness in almost every one we have now, I mean even some men don't have the same hair issues like that. It looks so awful, any professional artist that has been through art school could make better realistic hairstyles, it feels like someone who just doesn't care designed these.

I was expecting that they would at least include hair styles that were in DA2 but no... Since there are no long hairstyles I'm pretty sure for many it's pretty impossible to re-create their Hawkes. I just can't stand the current hairstyles at all - I don't think that I can even create female character unless they add more options. Every time I try the hair just kills it.

Even if they didn't ever include long hairs.....there are really so many options for having decent short hairs. Just perusing the hair mod section of DA Nexus for Origins shows a few basic short dos that would look fantastic if they could pull it off. Like, this particular poofy ponytail on my dwarf. I wouldn't think this beyond their programming prowess...(maybe beyond EA's money making schemes  <_< ).

I feel like if they even just took what they had and created a few alternative versions of them, that would be a major improvement (the way in DA2 certain longer hair styles had different bang varieties ^like the image shown in the above post had a side bangs look too in the DA2 CC)

They can say what they want about clipping.  They decided to go unisex and this is their version of unisex.  Blah.  Thranduil had long hair, people, and he was ultra fabulous.

I agree to this! I would be happy if they added more hair just to have more of a selection, however I would be happy to help fund it for better hairs or pay for better hair through DLC anything really to improve hair!

Ah yes male pattern baldness. It can be fine when it's on a male character but to have male pattern baldness on a female is just ridiculous "sigh" heres hoping they've learned from this for the next game.

P.s this should in no way be an excuse for them to remove playable races in any way shape or form from the next games just because it would (free up resources) that would just be stupid and lead to me personally not buying said game.

I dont understand BW here either. Hair is one of the things their community has consistently SCREAMED over. Not only does it not get addressed, it also goes unacknowledged. I can't remember a time a BW dev said "we are listening" when it comes to hair. I'm almost positive it's more important to players than a storage chest (that doesnt even let you store everything!).

And I love that the PC community has modders that come to their rescue, but I'm on a console and I want to be rescued too ;D The title of Patch 7 should be HAIRS!!

Failing that, yes, I'd pay for it too. After several games (ME 1-3, DAO, DA2) of ignoring this request from players though, I can't help but feel BW owes this one to us.

I think the lack of relative improvement has something to do with the general conception that graphics are of less importance in RPGs. The common story vs. graphics dilemma is somewhat of a false dichotomy that acts as a cushion against improving graphics to the level expected of most other action games.

The hair problem is the main issue why I can't create a Inquisitor I like

Like I said before, the choices in hair for DAO is better and those are awful too

I find it suspicious that after people complained about Isabella and the femmy-femme archetype we now share hairstyles between male and female characters with the majority being something that is considered "male", and for those that same it's not "male" styles explain why Krem the FTM wears his hair like that, why Cullen has short hair, why Dorian has short hair, et al.
