In short, when I saved my games, it isn't actually creating a save file. How do I know this? Well for one, after playing for a good three hours, I decided to take a break and eat. Once I came back, I could reload it. I checked in the proper folders and no save file. So I started another story, about an hour in, I died and couldn't reload cause there wasn't any save file.
Please help, it has been an amazing experience so far and I don't want to miss out on a great game. Plus I payed good money for this.
And if it helps I tried a fresh game (no ME1 character) and using an old ME1 character. I also have windows xp with SP3 and all that good stuff. And I purchased this game from Steam.

Bump/update
Still can't find a fix. Although it did work, after a reinstall, long enough for me to beat the game, kind of. It would save a file, but i could only acess it by hitting resume in the main menu. Even if i died i had to go back to the main menu and hit resume. If i tried to load from the menu that appears when you die, the menu disapears but it just says there hovering over my dead body. Also, my achievements were never saved despite completeting alot of them several times (play, get 10 head shots, quit game, play again, no head shot achievement, get 10 head shots, get achievement, rinse and repeat).
But now, I am trying to play another time, but I'm back to square one, aka my previous post. Please help! I am going to re-download it from steam tonight and I will post the results tomorrow. but if anyone knows any fixes, please post asap. thanks
