Fair enough, I tend to be too blunt at times.

Thank you, I do appreciate this.

Regarding Krem, I feel like he and indeed the rest of the chargers suffer greatly from not having a whole lot to do that we can observe. If we sacrifice them, we get some qunari stuff going on, but if we keep them, it would've been nice to be able to see them doing something. Like, in the Arbor Wilds, I would've liked to see the group off fighting somewhere.

And for the love of might, I wish Krem would stop standing and squatting on the chair. It's like he's doing calisthenics while drunk (which admittedly is my personal headcanon now).

I would have loved to do an actual mission with them other than just the Iron Bull quest. Might have given the inquisitor more to think about and maybe made it a more difficult decision to make. The drink scene just seemed a little too short to accomplish this. I guess they were just too limited in what they could do for each character arc.

Hi everyone. The thread's tone has become pretty hostile and some of the discussion is starting to take a turn for the political. Please stay civil and keep the discussion focused on Krem and DA Inquisition so the thread can remain open. Thank you.

I found Krem to be rather dull. Just like a lot of the characters in inquisition, the conversations with him felt factual rather than something that flowed naturally.

I can see what you mean. A lot of dialogue with Krem was exposition.

Personally, I think Dalish was lying about her reasons for exile. She has vallaslin; the odds that she'd develop magic after the fact seem extremely low. I think that she committed some actual crime, possibly killing someone.

Or maybe she just didn't want to be Dalish and left, keeping the term as an ironic nickname.

And decided to just randomly slander her clan to whatever merc band she signed up with? Unpleasant either way, though frankly I think most people could tell from that haircut.

Did she give that nickname to herself or was a product of Bull's "cleverness"?

No one said Dalish's tattos had to be vallisilin.

Or, it's also possible that she was dealt the same hand that Minaeve was, and was cast out for being one mage too many. Although, I can see her being sent away for breaking some sacred rule of theirs, of which there are likely a multitude.

Again, I find that implausible. She'd have had to reach adulthood before her magic manifested to be revealed as one mage too many, and from what I can tell, that never really happens; all mages are quite young when they come into power.

I like Krem's character, and his relationship with Iron Bull is fun, but beyond that, I didn't find the character to be particularly remarkable in and of himself.

That's kind of the point.

Krem's a great character because he's relatable. He isn't a superhero, he isn't all that and a bag of chips. He's a regular guy. For a lot of trans people, that's precisely the representation they need.

It's not slander if it is true. Just didn't apply to herself personally.

But this isn't a Dalish the person thread so this should be dropped.

I think it's how him being trans was discussed. I actually avoided those options, cause to me they didn't make much sense, that my character would suddenly ask something like that. I kept chatting with him about another stuff, chargers and bull, and it felt pretty natural to me and didn't feel like lecture at all. Maybe him being trans could have been mentioned when he was talking about his past in Tevinter rather than being sudden question about passing. If it was part of his backstory it would probaply flowed much better.
