The Inquestior doesn't have a strong nave force at his command hence the chance to alley with the qun, so would say given no navy power their army is sorely lacking without allies.

During one of the war table missions for the Qun if you send anyone but your ally qun forces the city gets hit with fire ships. So a big gap power wise.

But with that said going north to lands in a state of war and powerful armies does offer some unique things and a chance for one to rise, given despite the impruim being in decline no one has yet to finish it off and they have been going toe to toe with the qun for ages, think the inquestiors army would parish fast up north

So looking forward to that

The Inquisition doesn't feel like a powerful army or comparable to any of the nation states in thedas. I think that's a silly statement.

Yes it does. After the bit the arber wilds it does.

Weishaupt and a future blight.

I do want to experience Tevinter though.

Must there be a billion protagonists? A billion superheroes? There are already three protagonists to cover interesting places: Inquisitor is in Southern Thedas and we've seen Orlais. I think Orlais is important for the story. Hawke is in the Fade and I think with his story we can learn more about the fade, spirits, demons and even gods. The Hero of Ferelden is out of Southern Thedas, he is in the western lands. His adventure will probably bring him to Anderfells and perhaps Tevinter too. If the HoF sacrificed himself, similarly Orlesian Warden-Commander (from Awakening) goes to west as well, at the end of the Awakening. The Warden, whether he is the Orlesian or the HoF, goes to west so we can learn more about the Calling, Anderfells and possibly Tevinter with his story. We already have enough superheroes for a century so I think more protagonists would harm the story greatly. I think it would be best if Bioware continued with these three protagonists and give us something other than "starting from nothing and rising to power" thing. If all the DA story was in a single game it may have worked but since it's a series of games, I think it greatly damages the story, especially since we've already seen "starting from nothing and rising to power" thing three times now.

Seeing Anderfells and Weisshaupt would be great. I'd like to see the reaction The Warden gets in Weisshaupt, especailly during or shortly after the times of rebellion.

If we have one more hero, we can meet up with the three others and make a full party

Well, seeing how both the Warden and Hawke's death are both a possibility, only the Inquistor has a chance of making a return as the player controlled character. That is unless they throw a Mass Effect 2 curveball and have one of them "revived." Though I'm pretty sure we'll meet meet Hawke or what's left of him/her in a future game.

maybe they will do something unexpected and let us be the bad guy ,  born a slave in tevinter you find yourself with powerful magic abilities or some other power that lets a rogue or warrior do the same thing and you rise to become archon crushing dorian and his do goodery on the way then the qunari , and at the end your looking into the distance where the inquisition are and you can twirl your moustache and laugh an evil laugh while you wait for game 5 where you choose if you want to play as inquisitor or archon . :D

Why is it that people have it in their heads that the next game will be set in Tevinter? If anything, the more you predict or say that you want to go to Tevinter, the less likely BioWare will go that route.

Anyway, the fact that we started in Ferelden, went across the Waking Sea to one of its coastal cities, north of Ferelden, then back to Ferelden along with Orlais, suggests that the next game will be set fairly close by. The next location will be Nevarra, the Free Marches or possibly Antiva - or even a combination of them.

Tevinter won't be the next setting.

I'm hoping we get something like in Inquisition, where the PC comes from various southern countries, but no origin stories. Though it'd be nice if we can actually go to where we were born or grew up, as part of our chosen background. If the game starts like Origins did, then we may as well actually call it Dragon Age: Origins II (my guess is that DA4's title will be far more interesting - and far less repetitive - that perhaps plays with the number 4... unless BioWare wimps out again with the use of numbers).

People think it's Tevinter because a dev said they're going to do something in the North. Your reasoning doesn't many any sense by the way. What the people discuss on the forums won't have any sway on where they'll set the sequel.

Yes, they've said that, but that could mean anything. I mean, perhaps it means going to Weishaupt? People just want Tevinter because it's filled with mages, and possibly evil/grey area ones, too.

And BTW, my reasoning is based on a pattern, albeit a puzzling one, and the fact that BioWare has never taken us exactly where we've wanted to go. NO ONE expected going being locked into a single city, and nearby surrounds.

You're speaking as if we're part of some hive mind. People want different things. I personally don't care about the setting, just give me a good game.

there mustn't be more protagonists and i agree with you.would be boring to 'starting from nothing and rising to power' again into the next da game.

i would like to keep on to play as inquisitor . there is so much what must be done in thedas and only the inquisition can conquer tevinter ;)

i would also like to be able  to expand the inquisition.

Crow in Antiva City! With visits to Cumberland, Starkhaven and the rest of the Free Marches. Like DA2 in big. And a bit better.

I would also be fine with Tevinter. But I want to see Antiva after Josephine's and Zevran's descriptions.

I'd be fine with any of the northern regions.

Though I hope that if we get, say, the Anderfels, then:

-give me a lot of Deep Roads and other environments for variety. A wasteland alone can suck.

-maybe have it combined with a 2nd region. Perhaps give us 1/2 Anderfels and 1/2 Tevinter

Just an example.

Though I'd like something more 'urban' in DA4. Not a single reused-to-nausea city, but at least much more of a city-life focus, compared to DAO's wandering and DAI's wilderness.

Or surprise us and take us to Rivain. *shrug*

Well, I think a consistent protagnist is a casuality of a game world with multiple variables that carry forward into another game. The IQ could be male or female, one of several races, one of several classes, leader of the mages or templars, etc. etc. That's alot to carry over into another game if we stick with the IQ as the protagonist.

not only have we been told we are moving up north but also we know there is a major conflict going on there with the qunari and vents. anderfels have there problems also but id say that's option two. we knew about the qunari wars for a while now we just gotta see this full invasion play out and resolve. We have had to many hints in games about it.

While I would love to finally visit Tevinter, I don't think it's going to happen just yet. I think Anderfels or perhaps Nevarra are more likely. I get the feeling they're avoiding the more exotic locales, sticking to those more resembling a standard medieval fantasy land since they set the games in Ferelden twice now, which I wouldn't have guessed.

I like the idea of being a power climber in Tevinter.

It can follow the increasing power/control trend from Inquisition, but in a much different context and requirements.

You'd probably be able to choose to side with whoever you want, but I think you'll eventually end up leading your own new-founded order, kingom, empire, etc.

I would take the devs' words with a pinch of salt since what they say and promote in one moment could turn out to be nothing but air in a pie when they finally unveil the food tray. I, for one, wouldn't want another fresh face in the menagerie if they keep leaving threads dangling in the tapestry.
