kick button abuse..

No xp is rewarded because of this feature thereby wasting time. At least I retained the gold from that match, right?
I'm sure you've experienced situations like the kick button feature was used against you and for undue reasons as well. I just seem to see this being abused more as damp drags along. Maybe it's my region but the kick button feature in game is used like the group of schoolyard bullies who seem to think it's a fun to troll the odd one out. I can understand if a player is afk and leeching xp but I cannot fathom why this feature wasn't implemented in better manner. For example an auto kick feature should of been done if your away from the game for more than say 4-5 minutes, or at least have the option, or better yet if they spam 'certain' voice commands, you should be removed by default. But getting booted because one of the kids was salty over the fact you missed a pot is too much.

BW probably implemented the kick-in-game-feature because they knew about the key drop issue ... so it was possible to kick the host when the key drop bug occurred - so nice of them

why should anyone be forced by immature committee by party to be kicked during the last wave
Because you're in a pug. It's all a "committee". Are we opening doors? Are we staying in The Room™? Are we kicking this guy? It's all committee. That's a pug.
Maybe it's my region but the kick button feature in game is used like the group of schoolyard bullies who seem to think it's a fun to troll the odd one out.
It must be your region, because I really haven't experienced people running rampant, kicking left and right. If anything, I have trouble getting people to kick the jerks who just come into a match and don't move the whole time.
getting booted because one of the kids was salty over the fact you missed a pot is too much.
I'm pretty sure that never happened. Particularly since, as you have pointed out, kicking is done by committee. At the very least, all three of them were salty. And now you're salty. It's the circle of life.

I get some kicks when I get back to the lobby after a match because the game is slow and I need time to load again. So, the others get upset if they wait to much and here there are the red skulls or I get kicked out of the lobby. They can't know that, they probably think I'm just waiting something, but instead I'm stucked in the loading.
I played 2 games today and I found the same person in two different lobbies who was unable to move (or didn't want to move, I don't know). We finished the game and kicked him/her out. I think it was fair because this person stayed there for all the match without leaving if stucked and we had to go back to the door where his/her char was standing if the enemies were running there. This also means that we were only 3 players and the match was a little bit harder.
I'm a person that revives other players and sometimes it can happen that the revive option doesn't work and I can't revive. If then I get kicked for this reason, well not my problem!
There are people who use the kick button just for fun, but it's useful if you get as***es in the lobby that just push and you're in a treasure room and suddenly the enemies storm in while you're facing a revenant. And it's useful also when you can kick a player during the game if stucked.

**** people who do that. It's only happened to me once (on PC). Considering the cringeworthy conversation they were having, I can only assume they were friends. I found solace in the fact that I was dealing most of the damage and they were going down easily. All they achieved through my removal was reduced xp and possibly a wipe.
Deal as much damage as you can.

I posted once about this, joined a game that had 3 people who I take it were friends and they were going to kick me right away for no reason. I get 2 votes and the 3rd guy says he wants to wait until right before wave 5 ends and then boot me so I wouldn't get exp. Solution, agro whole zone, quit and hope they wiped.

I've complained about this before and it will only get much worse as time goes on as people get bored and team up more. It is very very rare when a guy who is actually leeching gets kicked. I've had matches where a guy does not mover from each start point and even if he gets two kick votes the last one never gets stuck up there.
It's foolish to not allow exp to be gained up to that point. Just a big error on biowares part.

It was most likely added because it was requested by people in MEMP, much like joining a lobby vs dropping immediately into a game.

I've been booted at the start of round 5 before and it was all because I didn't open one of the short-cut doors for these pugs but given that I killed pretty much everything they are the ones who ultimately lost out - pugs will be pugs

I was under the impression that you only missed xp if you exited, but that you retained it if kicked?
I had thought I had seen this first hand but i guess i should confirm.
I do know that while the key was failing to drop I had heard many leaders ask to be kicked in order to retain their current xp earnings rather than just dropping and only keeping gold, so i know i wasn't the only one under that impression.

Can't blame em tbh. Maybe you'll open the door next time.

I know that one well. Noobs just don't know, so if I am the right class I just go ahead and open that shortcut door so they can see there is no treasure there. Now they know for next time.

I was the right class to open the door but was preoccupied with trying to kill off the enemies attacking us and saving one of the pugs who went down. The other two pugs just stood near the door spamming over here and not helping so I decided I wouldn't open the door for them.

Experienced the troll kick yesterday. Right before the very last guy in wave 5 is killed, the three friends booted me.
Hope this kind of thing doesn't catch on...

I agree with the title. The poor kick button has to tolerate far too much abuse. People should be nicer to it. Gentler... more rhythmical... give it more love and attention.

got kicked just last night from a threatening lobby. its funny because before they booted me they tried to get me killed by running all the way to the end of each wave and dying out so i would have to take on full aggro each time. i was an archer though so all that did was basically guarantee easy longshots. and all this because i didn't get ONE door in the beginning(required too much backtracking, btw i got every door after that). after they failed to get me killed they let me take out the boss(since they probably couldn't do it themselves) and promptly kicked me afterwards but before the game ended. well thats my pug story for the day.

I hate the elitist groups out there that leave their group on "Public" instead of "Private". Then they kick you when you get in because they don't want "pugs" ruining their game. Thanks for wasting my time, and likely many others that join your 3 man group. If you don't want random people joining your Perilous group, change the settings. That's happened to me a few times.
I'm lucky now after playing a little over a month to have met some great players in the PS3 community to have several talented friends to call on when forming groups, and am enjoying DAMP much better. Pugging is stressful and frustrating, search out friends that play around the same times you do, and get together. It'll be much more rewarding.

Once the next zone started they both went afk, or so I thought, rather they coordinated a massive mob of adds from opening guardian doors. They brought a revenant, spiders, an arcane horror, as well as a pride demon for me to fend off by myself. While both were running around me. Obviously, I got downed and didn't get revived. When I was in the fade I got booted back to the menu with a sexy message saying, "you have been kicked from the game."
I must admit that was a well coordinated troll tandem they had going, one of the most memorable pug moments of my damp experience to date.

I've kicked people a few times and I've also been kicked a few times, and generally I don't have a problem with that. I don't see the kick feature being abused at all, it is actually under used by comparison to ME3.

There are legitimate reasons to kick people out in game too.
Like the ones that join a session and just idle so they can be carried through the dungeon. The only time they are active is to do the ready check at the start of each session and then some people don't even know how to kick people.
There is nothing wrong with the current kick system, just there is no resources going into having admins who care. Look at the state of the game and go figure.
