The only time I ever kick is when people sit in the lobby and don't hit accept after 2-3 minutes. If it takes you longer than that to assign potions, determine inventory, or assign attribute points, the polite thing to do is leave the lobby so you don't inconvenience people who are there to play the game.

So I've got a fast connection, the time from finding a session to actually being in the lobby is under five seconds. Once, within that five seconds I had already gotten two kick votes and received the third a couple of seconds after that. I was playing a 15 Legionnaire on threatening, so it wasn't like I was underlevelled or anything.
One of them was talking on the mic, but his audio was cutting in and out so all I could hear was that he was saying something about a mage, and was very upset. Practically screaming in fact.
To this day I have absolutely no idea what happened there.

Not in DAIMP because it doesn't like my high latency but, yes in another game where they also have vote kick, I get kicked more than not simply because some trolls in the party (these are 60 man raid teams) decide they don't want a "Dev's Pet" in there - I beta test for that game. I can see how something similar would be happening in DAIMP too.

I love getting kicked when I'm the only one scoring kill streaks, the best part is I can swap chars on the home screen join a new game and finish and I get the xp + cash earned in the first game as well as anything in the second game, sometimes i'll load up a lvl 1 char and start a match just it can die on the first 2 mobs and earn it all for a free fast levl up ![]()
best time it did that was ran my lvl 19 aw through perilous pretty much being the solo dps (the group was utterly useless and died every few seconds) get to the last 3 mobs in round 5 and get booted (they were all dead anyhow) then I loaded up a lvl 1 assassin started a routine game and got all the way to round 4 before I died and earned me 2500 gold and jumped to level 11 sweet and easy way to get chars up to a useful level ![]()

I've never been kicked in-game.
Kicks in lobby are very rare and I'm not going to worry about the reason why ![]()
On balance, the ability to kick is more helpful that the
occasional abuse caused by its existence.

I don't even know how to kick people mid-game. Tells you how often that's on my mind. ![]()
Seriously, though, hearing it's being abused sucks. For my part, I've not seen people kicked mid-match in any of the games I've played on PS4 (which I realize is 100% anecdotal evidence, especially since a fellow PS4 player already stated earlier that some jerk wanted to kick him on Zone 5 to be extra jerky). All the kicking I've seen so far has been in-lobby when it becomes apparent the person is asleep at the controller while the rest of us are ready to go.

I've seen a few mid-game kicks on leeches.
Lobby kicks I see plenty of when people are inactive. Never seen a kick for level or class.
Really, really wish they move to the ME3 method of 3 out of 4 = start the mission frankly and that would help.

I have definitely been that person asleep at the controller. Many times. "Oh I'll just get one more game in even though I barely kept my eyes open during the last one"

I don't know if you play on PC or another platform, but I play on PC and if the match is over and the team is going back to the lobby, my connection and/or the PC are slow and I usually need more time to get back to the lobby. This means that in the time I get back, people can leave or join and I will look like someone who's taking a lot of time to set potions or whatever.
I'm not accusing anyone of something, but I just want to point out that you can't know what's going on for other people and sometimes it's just someone stucked in loading...

I hate the elitist groups out there that leave their group on "Public" instead of "Private". Then they kick you when you get in because they don't want "pugs" ruining their game. Thanks for wasting my time, and likely many others that join your 3 man group. If you don't want random people joining your Perilous group, change the settings. That's happened to me a few times.
I'm lucky now after playing a little over a month to have met some great players in the PS3 community to have several talented friends to call on when forming groups, and am enjoying DAMP much better. Pugging is stressful and frustrating, search out friends that play around the same times you do, and get together. It'll be much more rewarding.
start your own lobby then.. and don´t blame other ppl who don´t wana play with you. Easy fix isn´t it ?
I don´t wana play with ppl on per. that can´t handle it.. aka level every melee toon ( except tanks ) who are lower then level 13 and who are newbs ( newbs in the meaning of gear / expierence ).
because we do what you did describe... we are 3 ppl.... and we open our lobby for ppl who wana do some fast runs... but we don´t wana look always after these ppl or rez them all the time... thats not an abuse it is our option to filter the ppl we wana play with... and its easier as to make always a new lobby to find some1 who suits us.
Ppl who wana troll us.. will get kicked at the last map ( ppl who are mad bc we don´t open doors and going afk or pulling mobs non stop on purppose to get us killed ).

Hey, thanks for clarifying what "newbs" means. I was kind of confused... I was like, "why does he kick people who like Bob Newhart?" but you nicely clarified.
Also, since you kick from the lobby based on gear and experience, can you share with the community how you manage to see gear and prestige points from the lobby? That would be super helpful, thanks.

Extra loading time isn't going to take 2-3 minutes though.
It actually has been a minimum of two to three minutes from the time the banner sequence fades out to the time the medals and xp screen pops up for me depending on the lobby. And, should I be kicked from that lobby due to not readying because of that, I would totally understand. But I have started to assume everyone else is experiencing that kind of lag because I still see everyone tag the ready button as soon as I get back to the lobby.

I host games and play with my friends. We will play with anybody even level 1 on Perilous, because we are good enough to carry. However if you are idle, or go opening doors solo while we already have our hands full, or you run out by yourself and die on wave 5, you WILL be kicked. If you try to kick any of my friends for being level 1 in MY perilous game then you may get kicked also, depends on my mood.

there are plenty of good reasons to kick, just because some abuse it doesn't mean the feature should be removed or changed.
I have a perfect example, I meat a group the other night, we were having fun together, we'd done several threatening matches and then jumped to perilous, all 4 of us were using elementalists. We get to the final room and then bam, host drops, his game crashed. So we all decide to sit and wait for him to get back, it was set on public cause thats how we all met, and hadn't needed to change it, and of course you can't change it during the match, so we kicked anyone that joined while he was reloading. we weren't being malicious, just wanted to play with the guy we'd been playing with.
