On ps4 I've only been kicked for 3 friends waiting for friend in lobby... use the private settings geez lol but I have only kicked or "tried" to kick AFKERS in matches. But I feel that the kick function is a good thing. Now can we please get ME3'S 3 player ready match start!

there are plenty of good reasons to kick, just because some abuse it doesn't mean the feature should be removed or changed.

 

The XP penalty for being kicked is currently 100%, and should be either reduced or removed to minimize the negative effects of kicking as a means of annoying other people.

 

On the other hand, I have gotten a few people kicked at 5/5 for excessive verbal abuse, and in those rare circumstances I am glad bioware didn't think through how to implement kicking properly.

There's an xp penalty for being booted/quitting from games is 100 but you can retain all the gold collected from pots, and chests. The logic from bioware is strong in this one. Almost makes as much sense as the people who have spent 900k and have never seen a hok ring.......

Not me, but there's plenty of examples of players who don't even have top level bows, staves, gear with over 1 mill gold, it's completely random as to how rng treats them. In theory they should have everything and than some duplicates but it doesn't always work out that way since its all luck of the draw.

Just to play devil's advocate, it's possible they did actually have a private lobby, decided to make it public to fill the 4th spot, then had a friend message them wanting to join... and they switched it back to private to invite the friend, but you were already in the process of joining that lobby before they switched it back to private.

 

Such a thing has happened to me both on ME3MP and this game. Usually, however, it's a simple matter of asking the person to leave and explaining you had just made the lobby private to invite a friend when they happened to join. Most folks usually don't have a problem with that and appreciate that rather than a kick.

this happened to me last night-during wave 5- and I wasn't sure HOW I could get kicked since we are all playing?.. I /shrugged and coughed it up to loser 30 somethings or even worse loser teenagers

My screen was black with the loading icon on the corner, waiting for the map to load. Then started hearing the come here spam from both of them. Apparently there was a spot forme to open.

Sounds like they were salty that you didn't or couldn't open the door, someone should tell them how much time they waste opening doors for low level items. But pugs will be pugs.

I'm sure you've experienced situations like the kick button feature was used against you and for undue reasons as well. I just seem to see this being abused more as damp drags along. Maybe it's my region but the kick button feature in game is used like the group of schoolyard bullies who seem to think it's a fun to troll the odd one out.

 

I only PUG and never have been kicked from any party except from one lobby (I guess it was a group of friends that forgot to set it as private). Either you are really out of luck or you are doing something really wrong to see that repeated behaviour

got kicked as a lvl 15 elementalist from a perilious pug lobby. wtf??? there was like a lvl 19 Lagtari and lvl 18 assassin in the lobby. maybe they wanted a challenge????

I have only been kicked from game once and kicked from lobby once (both times I would have kicked myself, too, though). I've never really come across any kick-trolls. Probably because you need a unanimous vote and it's rare to get three trolls all in one group.

 

Perhaps the problem is you?

I don't recall being kicked in game or in the lobby in DAI or Mass Effect. I do quit public games myself occasionally when the game is extremely laggy and I cannot normally contribute.

 

IMO, DAI kick system is quite handy and I like it as some people in DAI get stuck or are trying to leech and there is no way to tell what is going on. Others are doing some really bad things like pulling aggro when trying to solo a spawn and failing when 3 other ppl are fighting a revenant in a treasure room or running ahead and teleporting ppl who were on the way to open a chest. Doing it once is not worth kicking but when it is repeated two or three times or in multiple games, that usually means a well deserved kick. I've happened to play a few games with some high ranking leaderboard guy who likes to do that. Guess what, he got kicked twice and it was on threatening. And he was not level 1.

Most likely. Thing is they were too hasty and must have thought I was freeloading while afk while the truth is I never got a chance to move. It was like 20 seconds of shouting on loading screen and then kick.

It might be important to note that if you're running into these parties, they could either be friends or total noobs. Friends will just be douchey to outsiders sometimes and noobs will be offended if you don't smash every pot or if you run ahead (they likely don't know all the tactics yet).

 

So this is also possible. You might be running into these people more based on region or time of day?

This is why I either host my own game or play with other top players. All the top players know eachother so there's no issue. If Noobs want to play in my game then thats fine, I'm glad to meet you but we do NOT stop for doors except maybe the freebies. If you keep holding us up to open doors and cause trouble for us you will be kicked!

 

 

New players please stop trying to open treasure rooms on Perilous. It's just far more trouble than it's worth. The items are junk and the gold is not enough, and you'll have to waste time and resources to fight whatever guardian boss is in there.

Perhaps the problem is you?

 

If you get three randoms, then yeah, it's hard to get kicked.

 

If you get three friends, and you're the random, then the odds of you being troll-kicked goes up (especially at the end of wave 5 right before the very last enemy is killed).

You haven't lived till you've been kicked from a routine lobby, they can't handle my level 1s.

Right this is the circumstance I mentioned in my second post. It's just bad luck if you land a group of "friends" and you're the odd man out.

 

Probably best just to quit before-hand if you know.

Yes but it accumulates quickly if you avoid the store.

 

Also, for the record, I AM one of the people who's spent 900K and never found a HoK ring.
