in the next Dragon Age can we please have........

1) An epic story with all of our previous companions returning? I know the cameo thing is cheaper and less hassle because of all the player story scenarios out there but still, that was clever but really sucked in MASS EFFECT 3. If I am going to face the end of the world as we know it it would be bad ass to go in with your whole crew/cast guns blazing or at least have the option. This was one of the things that pissed me off the most about ME3 even more so than the ending. (The companion select screen would be a party but it would be worth it and satisfying)

2) More Romance Options - I went into this game wanting to see Isabela, Sera, and Leliana, and many more as romance options for my male inquisitor if they were not courted in the previous games but unfortunately no. That was one of the staples of the MASS EFFECT series, the relationships and characters. Its good to have new characters introduced but no one can replace your old crew.....nostalgia. Add don't subtract if possible.

3) Epic End Boss - Corpheus or whatever his name is lol come on guys, I would have rather faced a shape shifting Dragon Human like Morrigan's mother or Alexstrasza and the Dragonkin from WORLD OF WARCRAFT. Imagine someone like that wanting to be your "new god".......epic, bad ass, and scary.

so there it is ya'll, I know there may be a million threads like this out there and I apologize, I am rather new to the Dragon Age series and never posted before but I just wanted my words to be seen. MASS EFFECT 3 put me in a state of video game depression so you will have to excuse the rant..........but thank you for reading :)

I think your first and second points really have the same answer which is that Dragon Age isn't really about a single character or even a bunch of characters (unlike Mass Effect). It's about the Dragon age, so not everyone is going to return because really they have no story reason to. It's the downside to changing characters every game.

Sad about Mass Effect 3 too because the next one won't be out for a while yet :(

You do realize we're playing as a new protagonist every game, yes? They can't just shoehorn in every past companion that this character doesn't even know without it feeling incredibly forced, and they can't put past romance options as options again without a dozen complications, that would be a complete waste of time and resources better spent elsewhere.

This isn't Mass Effect. Your 'old crew' doesn't even know who the Inquisitor is.

This series isn't a narrative based around one protagonist, but several. Each story of these characters presumably ends when that game and any additional content end. I think having references are nice, and it would be cool if a couple characters transferred over -Varric nonwithstanding- but given the variables and diversity of playthroughs, this is way too tedious and expensive. I think the model they're doing in that regard is more successful, and while it can be improved, I feel it is ideal for a franchise that tells many stories centered in one worldspace.

But they definitely didn't capitalize on the rich history of Coryphenis, considering his significance to the entire lore of the series. Voice actor was bomb, doe.

I think I am the only one here who wants "Inquisition 2": same organization, same protagonist, new  threat...

They wont rehash previous romances, they have said that before. Whether you romanced them or not, their stories have been told and they prefer to tell new stories. Besides there were plenty of romances in DAI, doing more would have really stretched resources thin and none of them would be very fleshed out.

You're not alone. I would love if multiple games share the same protagonist.

I certainly don't. If we go north as we appear to be going, I want someone new.

The Inquisitor wasn't interesting enough to me for me to have any desire to be stuck as them for multiple games anyway, and I'd rather they not be made more of a special snowflake than they already are by breaking the 'new protagonist each game' formula for them, tbh.

1) I loved how ME3 handled companion returns, Idk why you didn't like it. Overall I want this happen, I love cameos!

2) DAI had more romances than any other DA game before. DAO and DA2 had 4, DA2 5 DLC included, but DAI had 8. That's twice as much! Unfortunately these numbers weren't divided equally, but 2 that straight male Inquisitor got were still same as in DAO and DA2. Overall I don't think DA team is going to do more than 8 different romances in the future, maybe even less, cause 8 already is huge amount of work.

3) Yep, eic boss battles are always great.

I think this would be ridiculous for party choices. Maybe do something like what they did with having Hawke fight with you. I agree it would be fun to have previous companions for the big final, but I wouldn't want ALL the companions from previous games. That would just be too much.

That said, I'd only want to see all or most companions return for end game, and there's no telling if DA4 will be the end of the series. Having all or most companions return for every game would be a bit much. I mean, I'm sure they have other things to do than help us save the world all the time.

I think we had more romance options this game than any of the previous ones. That said, female romances for males were lacking comparatively.

This, we're in agreement with.

Cool stuff, thank you guys for the responses, love hearing ideas and thoughts from my fellow fans, have not been around since the end of ME3. I hope the next MASS EFFECT and DRAGON AGE installments are mind blowing. Would be really cool to have the inquisition return.

It's DA heresy to say so, but I agree. There's so much potential with the Inquisition and the characters involved.
