Okay the Codex entry in Mass Effect 3 and more specifically on Earth codex entry mentions Reaper gunships that unleashed megatons of firepower.

 

So this leads me to a question. What are these gunships and how the hell are they capable of firepower an order of magnitude more powerful than the supposed top dogs that are the Sovereign class Reapers at 132-454 kiloton main guns? And if a Reaper gunship is capable of 9 megatons as a high end for ''megatons of firepower'' and a Sovereign class Reaper is 132 kilotons, then it means a Reaper gunship is a hundred times stronger than a Sovereign class Reaper.    And as a low end if a Sovereign class has a 454 kiloton main gun and a Reaper gunship is capable of two megatons then it still means that a Reaper gunship is over four times as powerful as a Sovereign class Reaper. 

 

And we're pretty much lead to think that Sovereign class Reapers are the most powerful class of Reapers in the Mass Effect universe only surpassed by Harbinger, so where the hell do these monsters with firepower 5-100 times more destructive than a Sovereign class Reaper can output come from? 

 

Ever since Mass Effect 3 was released this has bothered me. So thoughts about this anyone here?

Personally I'd disregard most of ME3's codex entries, as they are often badly written and/or outright contradictory to what was stated before.

Earth's ME3 entry is a prime example of this.

 

I mean:

 

Earth was an inspiration even to alien cultures

Is a direct contradiction to how earth was described previously (especially by aliens -e.g., Anoleis): As nothing more than a glorified slum.

Probably a typo. Should've been "ships" instead of "gunships"

Its either a typo or cut content, remember ME3 was kind of rushed, its possible that was another class of Reaper capital ship with dedicated megaton firepower.
