Back in DA:O I understood it, setting and stuff but now it is a must.

1. Described in Origins by Leliana.

2. Shown in Orlais in Inquisition, I mean even the guys have heels

3. Vivienne wear heels AND fights and she is frontline kind of melee fighter (Knight-Enchanter Blade)

4. Heels are awesome

5. Heels are marvelous

6. Seriously, why not?

7. The model ir already in game just let us be happy crafting it

8. Male Inquisitors would look fabulous in Orlesian Heels, specially if you craft (tint) the clothes with Royale Sea Silk

9. Top priority - it is impossible to save the world without heels

10. it is not a joke about people demanding heal, except of course for the title, I would like heal, it is not necessary but it is conceptually interesting playing a "medic"

Because Vivienne's combat outfit with the heels was a MISTAKE. A serious, serious error.

Bioware delivered a low blow to people who love fashion not only denying us the fabulous high heels but also making us wear ultimately ugly outfits in the prologue, skyhold and the Winter Palace, this last one is a level of cruelty that I have no words to describe

There's so many games where you can find female characters wearing high heels into battle. Let's just keep it realistic for one damn time. Vivnenne was a mistake.

High heels... what's next? This?

The proper answer to your question is: Because Dragon Age Inquisition is not Saint's Row.

I wouldn't mind heels if they were integrated into metal armor boots or something, to look more realistic and medieval-like

Nothing wrong with wanting some more pretty or girlier armor

Just more variety in armor, in general,

would be nice though

I agree with everything.. except with the heel part. Now, maybe it's just me but I cannot imagine a woman running around with plate armor and having heels..... :o

People as I said in the first post, in DAO I would totally agree with you, there was absolutely no room for heels. But now why can't I just be like Vivienne? Now there is absolutely no reason. Even if you do not agree with Vivienne she IS in the game. If she wears heels why can't my Inquisitor wear too?

I wore in DAO and DA2 with mods, and I will do the same in Inquisition, some guys are already preparing TERA armors to port into the game. But thing is that now they could have done it respecting lore and without breaking immersion. Vivienne is the perfect and perhaps only opportunity for it to happen.

I have no problem with people disliking it, and again I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit the games before Inquisition but now it is in the game. I'm not asking for Bioware to put it into game, it already is, I'm just asking them to let ME wear since a lot of people do, and Vivienne do it, WHILE EXPLORING AND FIGHTING. Error or not, it is there.

Yay! Let's talk about realism, when Iron Bull goes into every battle half naked and Varric shows more cleavage than anyone, but damn those heels are just so immersion breaking!

If it's just an option and isn't forced, then why deny them to other players?

I never did like the idea of women wearing high heels in combat... but what's this about Orlesian men wearing high heels?  Is that a joke?  Knowing Bioware, it probably isn't but... seriously?

edit:  Actually this doesn't specify "high" heels, but it still has me worried...

Heels were very masculine fashion in the period that Orlais is sort of stealing its style from (17th-18th Century France).

Is that right?  Good thing that trend died centuries ago.

High heels were originally for men. Women started wearing heels in France to immitate men. So actually Orlais is very historically accurate in mirroring France.

Yeah, it's a bad idea for Iron Bull to be half-naked in combat, but that's his thing. And it shows because he's got scars. Quite a few of them.

Understand. High heels are *dangerous* Self-inflicted dangerous. Ankle dislocations, torn tendons and ligaments, fractures in the middle of the foot.. and that's not considering the *worst* possible result, of having your foot half ripped off. It has happened, and not while fighting, either.

The only saving grace for Vivienne's high heels is that it's supported by tight leather all the way up past her knee, making it likely her foot will remain attached to her leg.

Yeah, In Exile just informed me of that... lol... I never would have imagined such a strange thing, but like I said, that hasn't been in fashion in a couple hundred years and it should stay that way, even if Orlais is supposed to be modeled after France.

Then again, I'm not really a fan of Thedas so closely copying ancient Earth cultures in the first place, so that probably has a lot to do with it...

So yeah... with regards to this topic, IMO less heels all around would be preferable.

Now imagine him with heels, too.

You know you want to.

It's burned into your brain now.

Forever.

The last sentence leads me to think these are an example of real life wear or are you saying these can can happen in battle?

I wear heels nearly every single day and not once has these things happened to me. As for battle, those things probably could happen. I wouldn't mind having a set up like Vivi, though. She looks fabulous!

If they included heels, they'd effectively make the Inquisitor shrink.  Since having the heels add to the Inquisitor's height would cause animation issues.

Especially that thing she wears on her head...

Somebody once pointed out, she looks like something out of Power Rangers.
