zjr12911, although I totally agree with you regarding Origins, I'm just wondering if you were having any problems or issues with DAI?  Because I experienced pretty much the same thing that you did.  I started DAI, then stopped, started another game, started DAI again, stopped again, and started another game (this time a completely different series, the Mass Effect series).  The point is that I was just having too much difficulty and too many glitches with DAI.  I found it much less user friendly and not nearly so easy to get around as either DAO or DA2.  Without question, DAO is my favorite, but I'm still planning to go back to DAI eventually.  Just wondered what your take was on DAI overall.

Well, I liked Inquisition but on pc I actually had to work to make the game optimized. I had textures that would stretch all over the screen like a rubber band. I had micro stutter that drove me mad, and couldn't find my framerate to visual quality sweet spot. I have finally found it, but I just feel my first play through was a bit marred. I also had a weird glitch where my graphics settings would reset, so i'd be playing at ultra then login the next day and "hmm this doesn't look as good as yesterday" and find that my settings had reverted to high instead of ultra. This resulted in me checking my settings like every 30 minutes every time I saw a bad texture lol. But now I am on a second playthrough as I said and it is better than my first. But for me Origins is way better.

I also had some technical issues. I had a quite mixed perfomance on my PC until the first patch and it was somehow disappointing. While my PC is the certainly now the newest or best (no money for a better one), regarding the system requirement I expected the game to perform better.

Yep and the settings reseted for me too several times. I started the game and wondered, why everyones hair looked like it was stolen from a playmobil toy  :D

DAO has more of the vibe from the old school PC RPGs

DAI left that pretty much behind, the difficulty/challenge too

I'm not sure if you're gonna like DAO  if you're expecting to be the same as DAI

maybe you'll like it for what it is

personally it's my favorite game ever

DAO is magical. Its characters deserve to be named in one line with Baldour's Gate legacy. This is the only game where Bioware cared about the content and not the money.

DA:O is a good game, just like DA:I, if you can deal with obvious flaws, just like DA:I.

The game has no AI, for starters. You either give every single command manually or you do the same thing, but program it into the AI. (they call this tactics)
At first the combat seems challenging, but once you get the mechanics every fight turns into a joke unless you purposely hamper yourself. Hell, even the final boss can be killed with just 2 spells on nightmare, if you pick the right ones.
Fetch quests ( ;))

And I'm lazy today. Point is, you can make even the best of games look incredibly crap if you just focus on the bad things.
