I though Russia is in deep trouble, cuz its Economy is said to be drowning!
But, it was the USA that has a revolution to handle!

I think the difference here is that, in this instance, the state of the US has recognized and documented the problem, and is in the process of implementing and enforcing a change.

There hasn't been a revolution yet, despite everything our government has done. People are too apathetic for a revolution at this point. It might happen someday, but it'll take something big to wake people up.

Revolution has not happened because there is no need for one. You think we got it bad? Gay people in Russia and other "sexual deviants" as Putin puts it, are not even allowed to DRIVE.

That's my point. You need something a lot bigger to spark a revolution. Something truly outrageous.

I misunderstood your post.

Anyway, I just get annoyed when people on the internet who have it good complain about the system in America. Not saying your doing this, but it just irks me. Could we do better? Of course. But do we have it bad? Hellllls no.

Yes. There's some things of questionable legality our government has done, but until people who speak out start getting disappeared, or peaceful protesters start getting massacred, I don't believe a revolution will be necessary.

The Russian Federation is financially hurting right now. Mostly because of low oil prices. Witch is unfortunate, since I enjoy Russian culture and history. I have wanted to visit Moscow for some time now, but with relations deteriorating so rapidly I dont think its gonna happen for me, not for a long long time at least.

Of course I disagree with the Government of Russia's actions lately, but I still would like to visit.

pay some attention on Obama's choice of words. so what president of the United States is saying, that US goverment is responsible for a CF with maidan. and as result in all these deaths.

i want to remind you that coup d etat in Kiev happened before coup d etat in Crimeria. the difference however is in the amount of dead people.

Make  no mistake - collapse of ruble was not a result of the sanctions.

sanctions of the usa and eu against russia had close to zero effect, as a matter of fact - many people i know were investing heavily in local production facilities like meat production etc. so there were no negative effect on daily life, people were selling and people were buying.

but - collapse of the ruble on the other hand had two effects. First - it made a life of common folk more miserable. Second - somebody actually managed to make shhhhhhhhhh tons of money. and i meant it. A LOT of money. and ironically enough - as i mentioned before - assets of rf as a country is held in us dollar. so you see what happened right?

btw i was visiting a friend in US Georgia few weeks ago... so despite all this shhh in the world i see no reason to deny myself of freedom to visit places i want and see people i want to see.

Me too!!

just not in Moscow (that village) please, visit instead my home town of Saint -Petersburg. I can show you a thing or two.

Look, im not going to get into this with you here. I knew you were Russian from your posts in the weapons thread, and I was not trying to offend you or get into a debate on Russias economy or the effect the sanctions are having on your economy. And I DEFINITELY wasn't trying to start a discussion on the  protests in Ukraine which led to regime change.

So I will just say, I disagree and leave it at that.

As for visiting Russia, I just wouldn't feel safe going there right now. I know if I did go it would be extremely unlikely that anyone bothers me simply because im American, but the way things are right now the average Russian sees America as the enemy, so I will be staying away for now.

WOW.

ok. people are idiots. on China's part especially.

you know i can tell you for a fact that some patriotic indoctrination is taking place in russian socium for like 6 years for sure, but i don't really think all that bad.

On the other hand, amout of crap you see on tv these days...

I can tell you for a fact - that nobody is burning usa flag on the streets.

@ OneWomanArmy - there is a tv show - The Americans about KGB agents. And as a matter of fact, it is the only show aside from Rookie Blue, that have a decent russian in it.

To be fair, a very similar poll done in America shows Americans feel the same way.

http://www.ibtimes.c...ew-poll-1817512

Yeah, many Americans see Russia as more of an enemy then a country that threatens us with Nuclear annihilation every other week. So I would say your assertion that people are idiots is for the most part, accurate.

If there was justice in the world then Mike Brown's scumbag stepfather would be serving hard time for inciting a riot and the left wing media hacks that artificially blew this story out of portion(like they did with the Saint Skittles/George "white hispanic" Zimmerman non-story) would be out of jobs and sued for every penny by the store owners whom had their businesses looted and vandalized.

But alas....

I've found it tends to be that Russia sees America as part of a combined effort to smother Russia.

And America sees Russia as just downright bad, and in need of restrictions.

All of this is probably about half true. BTW this is based less on media itself and more on my conversations with both Americans and Russians.
