Big chart of iconic sci-fi ships.

Nice.
That about covers it.
Big chart of iconic sci-fi ships.

My favorite is the SR1, because it is smaller like a stealth vessel should be in my opinion.
SR-1 to be honest. SR2 had more screentime and more interactions but you know what I hate about it? Load screens... friggin load screens.
What I liked about ME1 was how seamless it felt. Go down to the lower deck? No loading screen but an elevator which masks the loading (and which only takes 3 seconds on PC compared to 20 on console) and if you dock on the citadel or anywhere else that's not a Mako area... then you manually have to exit the normandy from the pressure-lock door and you arrive exactly where the normandy is docked.
/Offtopic:
For NME I hope we get a ship that's smaller and more intimite than SR2 but we get more time on foot and more squad conversations (with CINEDESIGN for gods sake) on foot with our squadmates.
Wait, you know what there really should be? Interior in the Mako where our squad could chat like the many enjoyable shuttle post and pre mission dialogues of ME3 (one of the best new things in that game)
Personally I like the SR1 and the Alliance SR2 (seems more functional than the Cerberus version).
Other SciFi ships for inspiration...the Serenity. Yes, that is kind of what the Normandy already is. Except the Normandy has weapons, but the Serentity is still an awesome ship.
The SR2 Cerberus variant, they may be idiots but they had style.
Stargate's Prometheus and Daedalus class ship, they had this nice combination look of a battleship and a aircraft.
Despite the Alliance SR2 having a better captains cabin and a cargo hold I like the Cerberus SR2 better: I like the colours better than the Alliance's, it has Mordin's science lab, councillor Udina in the kitchen, and it doesn't have this annoying security or decontamination or whatever it is between the communication room and the galaxy map...
They could take a good look at the spaceships from the upcoming MP game Dreadnought.
Alliance SR2 better cabin and cargo hold plus having blue in the design is good for me. Other series halo and warhammer 40k.
Cerberus SR2.
None. Mass Effect has an original style for space ships, it does not need to look at other designs. Except nature itself, like they did with the collector cruiser and reaper ships.
One of my favorites.

I liked the ME1 Alliance Normandy the best, for it's awesome background music and atmosphere. The background music was that which I missed the most from the SR-2 versions.
Cerberus Normandy was not to my taste. It looked too clean and sterile, and could at times feel lifeless.
The SR-2 Alliance version wasn't as good as SR-1, but better than the Cerberus version. It at least tried to recapture the old Alliance feeling, and I appreciated the Normandy being darker again, though it was perhaps a bit too dark.
I liked the look of the Cerberus SR 2 but I liked the features of the Alliance SR 2 (war room, access to shuttle bay). The one thing I will give the SR 1 is that the elevator masked loading screens but I got annoyed hearing that same theme music 20 hours in.
Cerberus Normandy SR-2 from every conceivable perspective.
It's much more of a warship than what the alliance did with it. None of the changes make any-sense when you actually think about it or have real knowledge of what a ship is supposed to be like.
As for cool starships...
Man you could list them all day.
The TARDIS comes to mind. Most powerful ship of any universe I imagine. And the largest, going by interior size.
Star Wars, Halo, Star Trek all have some pretty cool ones.
That spaceship chart is missing a few. CSO-class Supercarrier for Halo, and the Forerunner ships would be too big to fit on the chart.
ME1 (SR-1): atmosphere
ME2 (SR-2): variety
ME3 ^ : characters
I like the SR-1 more. But I would upgrade my cabin with a fish tank and a bathroom. I would change the outside hull colors to violet and black, then remove any Systems Alliance logos and replace it with my own person symbol. As for offensive and defensive system. I would replace the stealth drive for a cloaking generator, the torpedo launchers with ion cannons, and add one of those Thanix Cannons. And finally, put a nice Cross over the airlock door in the inside.
SR2 from ME3.
It added a bunch of rooms like the War Room and a lounge.
I liked the SR-1. It was small, stealthy and provided ground support. And liked the "XO Pressly stands relieved" stuff too
For ME:TNG I wouldn't mind moving in the direction of the Millenium Falcon. Not so much the actual visual design, as the concept - a more civilian design, no need for a big crew that'll be mostly ignored anyway. Though I guess that wouldn't fit so well with having a Mako on board.
One of my favorites.
Too bad the crew of that fine vessel were too inept to give it the justice it deserved. ![]()
SR-2 with the ME3 Hangar config and the SR-1's paint scheme.
I prefer the ME3 Normandy. I like the cleanliness of the ME2 version, though I'd dump the Cerberus nonsense on the packaging, but the ME3 cargo bay wins, and I actually like the war room. If it wasn't for the cables and unfinished bits here and there, it'd be a more elaborate version of the SR1.

The Cerberus Normandy does have that hanger bay which almost looks like a parody of modern third person shooters.
I wonder what the in-game engineering logic was behind that decision.

I prefer a darker more lived-in atmosphere on the ship than a sterile brightly lit one. Also the vibe on ME3's SR2 kind of reminded of the interior of submarine, which I liked. I'm not sure if that was Bioware's inspiration though.
I even liked the cables, though I know I'm in the minority on that one.

Seeing as how it was still being retrofitted when the reaper's arrive and had to leave in a hurry it does make sense that they there would still be cables hanging out.
^^^^^^^ Prometheus; what a dumb movie that was
But you're right, the ship looks good.
