I do think the default DA world states helps hint at what direction Bioware wants to push the story, which is why I think they're still interesting to look at even if I dislike them.

Yep, and if u think about it DAO default world is more consistent in some areas. Which makes it easier to guess future plot points in some ways.

Warden Allistar and FHawke.

No, I'm not. They are following a pattern its pretty obvious..

ah Sorry i guess i misunderstood, i thought you were talking about the DA2 Premier trailer :)

Well agree to disagree on that last part, i'm not sure that they knew default IQ was going to be a female from the get go, its a decision they made after the fact imo because of the reason you stated, they didnt want to deal with the **** storm , which happens to be what i said in my initial post.

I can see what you're saying...

Kind of brave for saying it though... :D Could cause a shitstorm here too.

does not matter.

 It sort of does.

New players need a not-so confusing base world to start with.

If they don't follow the Gender pattern either side will go on a hissy fit.

Plot is often smoother.

Yeah, I misread ur post a little probably because i have too many windows open.

I don't know if they  knew initially the default was going to be M/F or not. I do suspect that they did know however, otherwise Hawke would have been female, and the warden could have been male or both warden and hawke female. But meh, oh well.

I'm too tired for this, so whatever the case is default is female/human/rouge.

and FYI

My Inky is in fact a dude, so meh.

I was surprised when i opened my Keep and saw Inquisitrix as first choice. Good job. :)

Though i'm more into Hawke and i'd prefered Marian to be the "default" but oh well, default doesn't mean canon. Neither who's featured in trailers.

I am well aware that people are easily offended by trivial things these days,  i guess , at the end of the day, i simply dont care  :P

They gave warriors the "mail" version of the Inquisitor clothes, they gave rogues the "armor" version of the Inquisitor clothes, and they gave mages ...nothing. What's that? You wanted that badass longcoat that you've been using the whole game? No. Shut up. Here's a book and some third degree burns on your hand.

Oh hush and go twirl your hands around some sparkles or something, milkdrinking mageling.

I'm switching back and forth genders myself for my worldstate.. But yeah, I prefer Ladyhawke instead. Here's it's male Inquisitor.

Milk, unlike some things, is good for you.

I play males cause I can make them hot.

I'm so shallow even DAO characters could walk across me.

So what's this new thing in the Keep anyway?

Most of the stuff is hidden to me, even the specialization classes... lol? Choice has not been unlocked.

Well, that's strange. I could've sworn I beat the game with a Templar and a Rift mage, and not just with a Tempest and KE :P

And every single character I've ever made is in there, including those I deleted. There's like 5 versions of Zebah in there, I would love to be able to clean up that mess...

And I seem to be missing my female elf entirely.

*Sigh* It means baby. Infant. Because babies still drink their mother's milk.

Oh? I always thought it referred to someone who didn't drink booze. Clearly, whoever came up with that insult needs to go back to the drawing board.

Meh, I don't see it as a big deal. Their cover art for the boxes will likely still always be a generic male, and clearly this is just a pattern, not really a statement.

The figure on the box  could actually be either.

Yeah, I misread ur post a little probably because i have too many windows open.

I still think  that the pattern they have is fair: rather than multiple protagonists of the same gender in a row, they are going with the 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2 pattern

O dont get me wrong, you arent wrong it IS the " fair " choice to make here, the "make everyone happy" option so to speak however the point im trying to make is that Bioware should go with whatever they feel fits their stories best and not let their fear of a small portion of the fanbase cripple them.

In this case its not really a big deal since no matter who they chose as the default Hero the story would have played out the same but they have cut contents in the past because they were afraid how some of their fan base might react to said content ( namely the DA2 expansion ).

If they make a dwarf game, I'll feel for ya if they didn't make the default a dwarf.

And they do need a dwarf game btw. That's the only way they'll get a bigger following. They need to sell it better.

We must be playing on two different xbones then. Mine is clearly the silhouette of a male figure. I'm fairly acquainted with the female form. There's like... differences.

Or people could try thinking for more than a second. It was rather obvious.

Pff, Tamriel is bestest :P The elves there are actually awesome.
