So my Inquisitor recruited Blackwall, romanced him, then left him to rot in his Orlesian jail (she's emotionally unstable). It looks like this possibility is not reflected by the tapestry.

It's considered like Blackwall was recruited, then left the Inquisition. Whenever I pick "left Blackrock in jail", it reverts the recruitment icon to ("Hidden").

Obviously something went wrong in the analysis of my choices there, as the keep seems to be incompatible with my actual playthrough.

I assume they consider leaving to die as equivalent to dumping him, so you'd be counted as "not romanced".

But I appear to have the same issue.  Except that switching him to "remained imprison" marks him as continuing to be part of the Inquisition - presumably the only difference is that I unlocked the Blackwall remains option in another playthrough.

That's what I wanted to know, thank you. And yeah, I'm marked as "not romancing anyone", and I'm fine with that.

Right now it's like I never recruited him in the first place and still left him to rot, or I recruited him and let him leave without ever meeting him in his cell, and neither feels right.

I haven't done his romance arc yet, so I don't know for certain when they figure you've 'committed' to that relationship enough to get the flag, but your point makes a certain amount of sense excepting the fact that you can have 'Morrigan Romance' and 'Stabbed Morrigan at the Eluvian' options simultaneously. Granted, I'm not sure how that changes Morrigan's attitude toward the Hero of Ferelden--if at all--but attempting to kill her doesn't change what happened before that...so it seems somewhat contradictory to me to have the opposite be true in Blackwall's case.

Do you have the Romance tile available to you?

I don't, actually.

It was pretty clear my romance flag was completely cleared the moment I told Cullen to leave Blackwall, since suddenly I got romance opportunities with every other companion (turned them all down or didn't pursue, in proper role-playing fashion).

I think I'm missing like two romantic scenes with Blackwall.

I'll try to complete the playthrough while continuing the romance, and "forge" what actually happened.
