Come on you people, a bit of trial and error won't kill you. It might kill your character a few times, but that's how you're supposed to learn. Through failure.
Now I could get on board with you completely here BUT there's a few problems.
Depending on the decisions you make or how you play in an RPG of this size you can potentialy have a horrible overall experience the first time through and may not even bother with a second go at it. The second playthrough was a heck of a lot more rewarding for me than the first as far as enemies, loot, and challenge level was concerned because I had a better idea of where to go at which times. This is a huge problem because you may never get the full experience sense your first playthrough is the ONLY one where the story is going to feel fresh and interesting at all.
Unless your gonna play it on nightmare your first time through(which I wouldn't suggest doing), this game is really hard to find a consistant challenge in without taking less companions. The game really doesn't reward trial an error because it's not scaled well enough throughout. Actualy I'd suggest to players that the best challenge you can get is by sticking to hard and limiting your defensive upgrades, never usings barriers/gaurd, and playing with fewer party members as your main way of increasing difficulty because nightmare is just too broken(I'd explain more about why but it would turn into a 2 page essay lolz).
Hell, maybe you guys are on to something with just more map areas needed to flesh out the eastern and western sides of the WM. Can always hope for expansions and dlc I guess.
