Normal? Then how the hell did I run into Orzammar underleveled?

Think he's talking about non-Bioware games because yes it is very much normal in MMO's and yes I am aware that DA isn't an MMO but it DOES use the same map system with zones as many MMO's so I think it's fare to compare them.

Same map system? Not really. I mean, its a map. Lots of games have maps.

I'd totally agree with OP.

We do have, after all, level recommendations for main story quest. Would be nice if it is extended to all zones.

On my first walkthrough I went to Emprise-du-Lion before Exalted Plains or Emerald Graves or Hissing Wastes. Only to realize that while party is already at level 20, enemies in Exalted Plains mostly capped either at level 11 or 15. As you could guess doing quests in those locations wasn't much fun since enemies provided neither experience at all nor any decent loots.

Come on you people, a bit of trial and error won't kill you. It might kill your character a few times, but that's how you're supposed to learn. Through failure.

Its pretty clear that things generally go West Ferelden --> West Orlais --> East Orlais. With a few exceptions, in a few ways. The bigger issue is 'OMG HINTERLANDS GET OUT'.

EDIT: This reminds me that I wouldn't mind getting a bit of a DLC adventure in East Ferelden.

All the Ferelden maps are in the Eastern Half of Ferelden. Hinterlands, Fallowmire, Crestwood, Stormy coast are all Eastern areas in the Ferelden nation. Perhaps more western maps.

lolz are you really gonna pick every little thing that doesn't match up perfectly out of each and every sentence and throw it back in my face? Come now, you can't honestly tell me you're this dense and didn't get the overall point. You just feeling arguementative? If so, I'm sure most of us have been there and can understand it.

So change the word same to "SIMILAR map system with zones as many MMO's so I think it's fare to compare them".  That more to your liking?

Now I could get on board with you completely here BUT there's a few problems.

Depending on the decisions you make or how you play in an RPG of this size you can potentialy have a horrible overall experience the first time through and may not even bother with a second go at it. The second playthrough was a heck of a lot more rewarding for me than the first as far as enemies, loot, and challenge level was concerned because I had a better idea of where to go at which times. This is a huge problem because you may never get the full experience sense your first playthrough is the ONLY one where the story is going to feel fresh and interesting at all.

Unless your gonna play it on nightmare your first time through(which I wouldn't suggest doing), this game is really hard to find a consistant challenge in without  taking less companions. The game really doesn't reward trial an error because it's not scaled well enough throughout.  Actualy I'd suggest to players that the best challenge you can get is by sticking to hard and limiting your defensive upgrades, never usings barriers/gaurd, and playing with fewer party members as your main way of increasing difficulty because nightmare is just too broken(I'd explain more about why but it would turn into a 2 page essay lolz).

Hell, maybe you guys are on to something with just more map areas needed to flesh out the eastern and western sides of the WM.  Can always hope for expansions and dlc I guess.

What...

DAI-World-Map.jpg

That's central Ferelden, at most.

Do you know the difference between east and west? Serious question.

East would be: Awakening expansion area, Denerim, Brecilian Forest.

Yes, actually. Same and similar are very different contexts.

You mean you don't like smashing your head against a wall to test how hard it is?

TOO BAD.

You missed the point.

Problem is that while enemies in some areas autolvl with you as high as to 24 lvl (Emprise-du-Lion) enemies in other are capped, like mostly 11/15 in Exalted Plains, 19 in Hissen Wastes etc. So on your first walkthrough you might run into quite bad game experience by running your powerhouse party of lvl 20+ into locations like Exalted Plains where all enemies do not give you experience at all nor drop anything good. So it's either boring clean sweep of this area for you with no exp or items to reward you or you have to skip this location all together.

I think what makes it even worse for me is I have litterally the WORSTE memory on the planet. Dude asked how on earth I could put over 600 hours into this game in another post. Well, when you can't remember jack then it's like starting all over after a few days. Although, for some odd reason the story itself seems to stick in my mind well enough to be dull as crap after the first go hahaha. Who knows really, it may be yet another affect of graves disease which I do have. Doubtfull though but honestly it wouldn't supprise me if it's an actual dissorder of some sort. I meen how often do you guys litteraly forget your GF's first name while staring right at her?  Sure, eventually I'll think of it but yeesh.

EDIT: And if you look up Graves and see all the crazy pictures of eyes protruding from your head? Nah, I'm a lucky one that didn't have that issue. I feel sorry for folks that do though.. That's gotta be hell to live with.

EDIT2: This garbage wasn't ment to try and make folks feel sorry for me in some way. I just tend to ramble... alot. Honestly it's not that bad. Only way I'm affected is everything "running" at double time. For instance, a heart rate of 120 while sleeping and 140 while sitting is far from normal. I sometimes can't sleep for more than 2 days. Just emagine being on crank or speed without the addiction or hallucinations rofl.
