Some of the toys that I had that were my favorite are..

Giga pets, Tamagotchis, and nano pets. I had like 15 of them at one point.

I wish my mom would have bought me a Teddy Ruxpin, but she never did.

She didn't buy me a Skip It either because she told me that it was silly and to just use a jump rope and tie it to my leg :I

I'm pretty sure I wanted many more toys I never got. I just can't think of them right now.

Hold this L- I mean, W for contributing another cool thread to Off Topic. It's lowkey on life support because of all the relationship centric sh*t and knock offs of other topics. #SUBLIMINALS

Hot Wheels > Micro Machines though. Just cause I've never had Micro Machines.

I'm trying to give the Off Topic some life. It seemed to be missing some.

Oh and you don'k know what you missed on. MicroMachines were the best! Like Hot Wheels but smaller...lol.

Are micro machines a certain type of toy cars or any kind of small cars?

Cool. I have actually played Micro Machines V3 and 4 on PC. I didn't know they're related with these toys. However these cars are not available in my region.

I am gonna be the girly girl in this thread I guess. I was super addicted to MyScenes! I mean, they had way cooler stuff than Barbie tbh.

My_Scene_Shopping_Spree_Kenzie.jpg

Looking back at it they do looks kind of weird what... Oh well...

Other thing I liked to play with most was Playmobil. I had 3 older sisters, so we had quite a bit of that stuff. Mostly it was just building up a whole world withe everything we had (Which took hours) and then when you could finally get to playing, you would be totally sick of it and just put it away again. (Story of my life)

Sad to see how such cool simple toys like that would never entertain a kid nowadays. They have iPads now!

Agreed. I really don't like the idea of giving kids iPads, Smartphones, etc. Never owned a Tamagotchi growing up and I always thought it was the coolest thing. Even now, as a grown adult, it's still kind of cool.

On one hand, it's incredible how technology has developed since then but on the other hand, it's kind of sad that kids growing up now won't feel the same kind of wonder we feel when it comes to simple devices and toys. I'm sure there's stuff that they'll love and feel wonder over. But there are kids growing up right now who aren't aware of Pogs, Legos or Nerf Guns.

What a time to be alive.

Some kids never even go outside to play anymore. I know you can't escape technology in this day in age, but parents should still encourage their kids to do activities that doesn't involve technology. I've seen moms hand their iPhone to little kids when they're being annoying, to calm them down *shakes my head*

Growing up, I usually broke any toy that was overly "girly" or defaced them to make them less "girly" looking. My parents eventually figured it out, so they would get me "boy" toys and not "girl" toys. Everyone was happy and there were no more headless Barbies!

These are some of the toys I recall having, not exact in some cases, but fairly close to them.

Jibber Jabber ~ Named him Spike.

Pocket Pikachu ~ It was a sad day when I realised I lost this.

pocketpika.jpg

Zoids ~ This one was a pain to build, but it was awesome!

Hasbro_Zoids_Dark_Spiner_Super_Model_Kit

Beyblades ~ I only had one "legit" Beyblade, the rest were cheap knockoffs. Still worked.

Yu-Gi-Oh cards ~ I had a Yugi starter deck, the rest were boosters... still have my cards around somewhere.

SDY-DeckNA.jpg

Pokemon cards ~  Other than the usual cards I had a holographic Mew from when the Pokemon movie was in Cinemas. Also have some Pocket Monsters running around, I recall one of them being Bellsprout or whatever it is called.

Phat Boyz cars (also had Hotwheels, but who didn't?). Loved playing with these on a rug that had roads and buildings printed on it.

That was one hell of a nostalgia trip.

:o Oh! I had a Jibber Jabber too! He had red hair. I completely forgot about those!

I think he might be somewhere in my closet still.

They were awesome! I'd run around throttling his neck to make him make the funny sounds. My sister had a girly one, but mine was way cooler because he had a mohawk. I think my dad threw mine out, or I threw it out when moving interstate. He was so awesome, even if he was covered in scribbles. I want to get another one.  B)

I know! I loved annoying my sister and brothers with it. Mine had a mohawk too. I didn't know there were girly ones. I hope he pops out somewhere one day because I'd sure like to have him again.

Since I couldn't get the noise they make out of my head, I went and looked to see if I could find a video of it.

Now I can't control my giggling after that

I never really had any toys. My parents had this weird thing that if they bought me a toy I would want more toys. That was their excuse for not getting me any Star Wars or other toys like that. I remember for Christmas I asked my relatives to buy me some since my parents wouldn't, I ended up with a animatronic Star Wars piggy bank that would make noise and move around whenever you put coins into it. That was fun!  <_<

I did finally get a couple of Lego sets later on, but I was too OCD about making sure that all of the pieces never got mixed in with pieces from other sets that my parents stopped buying those as well.

I wonder what that does to their psychology as they grow up.

Oh well, at least they'll be guinea pigs for later studies to find out!  :D

I think it was more of a toy for the child's parents...
