I am using windows 7 connecting directly to a cable modem using a single ethernet cable.
The ineternet connection works find but the game keep telling me no internet conection detected.
I have tried opening the port listed in the readme file as well as disable the windows 7 default Firewall.
I don't have any other firewall or similar program installed.
Anyone can give me some tip how to solve this please?
Thanks in advance.

i still get "the connection to the mass effect 2 server has timed out" even though Bioware states that they have fixed these problems. ive opened the ports on my pc as well that were in the readme (vista 64-bit)

Well since there servers are working for everyone else, it's pretty much certain there's a problem on your end. Re-check everything internet related.
After that, go to bed, or if it's morning for you, go take care of some errands. Come back in a few hours and if it's still not working, save your configs and send them to BioWare support.
(FYI: Your PC's OS really doesn't impact your connection much, there's no need to really inform us of it.)

Same problem. We're not the only ones:
http://social.biowar...06/index/782565
I've opened the ports, verified that they're open, disabled the firewall... no solution thus far.

ME2 causes me to drop connection every time I attempt to log into the Cerberus Network to validate my DLC. Specifically, my router (Westell 9100EM) resets completely every time this happens, making it look like the internet is down to the game.
This has only happened with one other application to date, uTorrent, and is a result of it attempting to use UPnP or NAT-PMP port mapping. Without those enabled the resets won't happen. I'm assuming that the ME2 login is doing something similar that is causing the router to die.

Just grabbed a second router and chained it to the first one. If my machine is hooked up to the second router I'm able to log into Cerberus and access the DLC without the Westell 9100EM rebooting. If I switch back to being plugged into the Westell the disconnects return.
It definitely appears as though the login process is doing something that's causing the router to crash.

If you have PeerBlock and PeerGuardian running turn them off. It resolved my issue straight away.
