You seem mad.
My poor long term memory annoy you that bad?
I don't get mad at or emotionally involved in this kind of stuff at all, no need to worry about that.
I'm just correcting a fairly egregious omission.

I actually am interested in purchasing a Wii U, I think it'll be great along my xbox one. I mean come on, Mario 3D world, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart are already out and are amazing, and there is still a new Zelda, Star fox and God knows what else releasing in the future.
Aside from Halo, I'm not caring too much for my xbox. The games releasing in the last two years have been trash. Hopefully Mortal Kombat X is good
Also, is anyone really surprised that this game was delayed? Pretty much every Zelda game ever made was delayed after its announcement
All I remember from the 360s early years (before Halo 3) is King Kong, Viva Piñata, and Gears.
So it is just my bad.
Still. Wii U is doing better than the DreamCast did. Not that that's hard though.
It really isn't: the Dreamcast managed sell 10.5 million consoles at the end of its slightly less than a year and a half on the worldwide market (2.5 for Japan). Software-wise the Wii U can't compare to the Dreamcast either, which still provides a treasure trove of varied and excellent games. Sega might've gone down for a series of the most unnecessary and idiotic reasons possible, but by god did they go out with guns blazing.
And on note of omissions, it seems I forgot to mention Oblivion coming out several months after the 360's launch. Not my favorite kind of game, but oh well.

The only thing I can tell you is to not expect anything more than what is already out and announced for the console. If you think the current lineup is worth your money, then by all means go ahead.
And yeah, no one should've expected Zelda to not get delayed, but there's always some hopelessly optimistic fanboys.
As for the Xbox One, I really wish I could play its Killer Instinct and Sunset Overdrive, but right now it does indeed have little more than those, Halo and Horizon 2... with the PS4 somehow managing to have even less. Boy do I miss the days of killer launch year lineups and such.
Like what?
Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure?
Ask alot of people, that's about the beginning and end of worthwhile games for that stupid thing. And MvC2, but it's not like it was exclusive.
Sony managed to steam roll over the Dreamcasts Treasure Trove essentially in one year with DMC and Silent Hill 2 alone.
...And being a cheap DVD player...
To be honest I wasn't expecting a ton out of Zelda wii U anyway, I figured if it was good, great, but the biggest reason to have a Wii U is Xenoblade X IMO. Zelda arguably peaked in the early 90s (and it was quite a peak, for sure), but I haven't really been expecting anything super transformative out of Zelda for awhile now.

Link to the Past is pretty awesome tbh.

The Dreamcast had plenty more, although the PS2 was indeed no slouch either.
What caused Sony to steamroll over it in hardware sales however was Sega's consumer confidence being at all time low after the Saturn, and stuff like basically no piracy protection would've eventually scared away most devs had it stayed on the market. Sony on the other hand just came off of the insanely popular PSX... things were only ever gonna go one way.
Link to the Past is pretty awesome tbh.
If Miyamoto and Yoshiaki Koizumi got together and angrily fought over story and gameplay again like the old times I bet they could make something pretty magical again.

That it was. One of my top games in the series, along with Link's Awakening and the Oracles.
Link to the Past was by far the best Zelda game. Everyone other game in the franchise wishes they could be as good.

Personally I'm seeing about 5 that weren't on other consoles at the time. Resident Evil Code Veronica included (Though I played the GameCube version)
But that's me and my utter dislike for the Dreamcast showing through.
Anyway, we should probably get back to Zelda.

They also need to kick the Ocarina of Time Formula/style.
Twilight Princess would've been better had it carved out it's identity a bit more than "Dark and Gritty Ocarina with wolves".
But I heard Link Between Worlds was good. So it seems they're learning.

Oracle games are so good. I got in trouble for playing them and Minish Cap in school so many times ![]()

Never really was interested in SO.
KI is pretty fun, but I prefer MK over it a lot. The online play is really good though, 0 lag. Halo and Forza may be the usual MS games, but they deliver most of the time (Halo campaigns are some of the best stories in the FPS genre)

Sunset looks so deliciously like a Dreamcast-era Sega game, I can't help but lust for it.
As for Halo, I was quite the fan of the games and the universe, but ever since 343 Industries took over things have gone downhill hard, especially when it comes to the stories and lore. Ironically I do perform a lot better in the multiplayer now (and might even enjoy it more in H4 at least), but it's not what made Halo Halo anymore; it might as well be a future CoD at this point (which we now also have, but I digress).
Was hoping Bungie would come to save the day with a Brand X not-Halo published by Activision, but that quickly turned out not to be the case.
It can't become another Gamecube to begin with simply because the Cube got a shitton more games just from Nintendo itself, and still had a solid amount of third party support (shared and exclusive). The Cube's first year alone was the stuff of legends, and the Wii U might only be just about capable of comparing itself to that at the end of its third year (when it's about to enter its last).
And the Wii U doesn't seem to provide Nintendo with anywhere near enough revenue to not have their fabled warchest keep shrinking in size, or having to resort to selling plastic figures and mobile games.
Once again, consumer confidence. Gamers want to know that the console that they're buying and that they've put their faith into will be supported by the maker of said console, especially when **** hits the fan. Betray that trust (and especially when the console is profitable, such as the Wii U) and that betrayal becomes known throughout the community. The Wii U is already known as a console with a great exclusive line-up along with a controller that people enjoy. Do something that reeks of corporate shadiness and people won't trust the brand if they aren't going to care about their own product. Either let it stand as another Gamecube, or go home.
Like what?
Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure?
"get serious!"

Still got my DC with gems like Garou:MoK, SF 3rd Strike (best version imo)/ SNK vs. Capcom, Veronica, Phantasy Star Online, Grandia 2, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia and Shen Mue.
It was a primarily a fighting-games couch-versus dream come true for me back when I got it + many arcade titles got their best port on the DC, in my opinion.

Dunno about you guys but as a Wii U owner who has games on it that they frequently enjoy alongside upcoming games I'm very much looking forward to with Xenoblade X (Totally gonna make a Xenoblade thread sometime, but I'm not sure when would be the best time to do so) and Zelda U taking the brunt of my attention, I'd be pretty pissed if the NX were to be announced for next year at E3, especially so if Zelda U ends up becoming a title for it. Plus while I'm not sure if it really means anything, a new console next year that isn't a revision or product to go alongside the others might possibly mean the start of the 9th console generation and what would feel like a VERY premature end to the current one, at least to me it would. Also, once again I''m not sure if it counts for anything but Nintendo usually releases the next-gen handheld console before the next-gen home console.
Anyway, perhaps we should get back to the thread topic? Because I feel as things are we're gonna start veering off track from specifically Zelda discussion to Nintendo discussion. Speaking of...
What was the last Zelda game you all finished last? For me it would have been A Link Between Worlds but Link's Awakening DX caught my eye on the eShop one day. While I had played and owned the GB original (it was really my brothers game) when I was really young I remembered little of it other than never getting past the third dungeon and generally finding it really difficult. So as you can imagine I just had to buy it, especially as I could recall Zelda fans saying the game was one of the really good ones. Well, I played it and it was an enjoyable experience as well as being a lot easier than I thought it would be.
But more importantly than that the game is just so goddamn interesting. The enemies are interesting, the characters are interesting, the goddamn whole island of Koholint is so goddamn interesting. For one thing the game is stuffed with Nintendo cameos and references such as a Yoshi doll which kickstarts the franchises first trading sequence, a woman's pet Chain Chomp which you rescue from a Moblin gang and can then use to gain access to the second dungeon, Cheep Cheep enemies and Goombas in the game's side view segments, the very Mario esque character of Tarin and this is just the Mario references! It would be apt to call it the Final Fantasy IX of Zelda, at least in this regard. Getting away from that stuff you have the infamous shop from which you can steal equipment such as the Bow while the shopkeeper isn't looking, and the next time you walk in he'll kill you outright. On top of this your name is overwritten to THIEF so everybody that matters in the game knows what you did. Other than this you have the most absurdly OP boomerang in the series given to you at the end of the trading sequence which can one-shot the final boss, an entire town of talking animals and some pretty big revelaitons in regards to the plot sometime after the halfway point which shocked me just a tad.
In regards to the dungeons, this may have been the first game to really put strides in integrating the idea of a unique subboss in each dungeon. As for the dungeons themselves they're all pretty simple, with the Eagle's Tower being perhaps the most unique. In the end, I definitely had a fulfilling experience with Link's Awakening DX, and I would heartily reccomend it for those looking for a good retro Zelda experience. As for the next game or in this case games? The Oracle games since I had a similar childhood experience with them as I had with LA. I'm definitely interested to see how Ages and Seasons pan out compared to Link's Awakening.

You can find the Xenoblade Chronicles X discussion thread right here.
As for which Zelda game I last finished? Recently, Majora's Mask for the 3DS. I still is my favorite game in the franchise because of how weirdly dark it is. It had a Gaimanesque sense of darkness about it that I liked. Overall, It was dark because of its pervading sense of fatalism but that didn't stop it from also being whimsical. You still had people like the Happy Mask Salesman. You still had Majora's Mask itself and the moon children that look like the HMS. You had the anthropomorphic moon that was falling towards the ground. Never mind the Stone Temple and the whole flip-this-dungeon-upside-down sort of twist. Then there was the mystique. Why do the Ikana ruins have the Triforce symbol on them? Who, or what, is the Fierce Diety? Who is Majora? That, and the exploration made you really care about the land of Termina. You may not have seen it before, but the side-quests gave the land a character. I'd really like to have another game in the series return to that place.
I think this sense of weirdness and mystique mixed with a lot of exploration is what makes a great Zelda game. They aren't the only qualities, but I think they're sure to do the job in creating a memorable title in the series.
Oh yeah, dunno how I forgot MM considering the remake and all which I still haven't got. My favourite Zelda game is pretty much jointly owned by Majora's Mask and Wind Waker. Meaning I was pretty damn happy when I learned WW was getting a HD port back then and I was (and still am) happy to know that MM 3D exists.
Majora's Mask is my favourite as well, was the first Zelda game that made me really care about the NPC's that populated the world as each one was very well developed and ran such wide ranges of emotion as the end of days drew near.
Enjoyed the Oracle games as they had a good balance in terms of puzzles and combat/challenge. The ability to move your character between games was an interesting mechanic as well since it unlocked power-ups and characters/events not normally available, you can also play them in either order which again changes how some events happen.
A timeline split in Skyward Sword is rather interesting. While the next Zelda game might not take place in this new timeline (possibly between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess or between Skyward Sword and Minish Cap), it would be nice to have a game set in this timeline.
It's nice that people are still theorising new stuff after the timeline was officially revealed. I'd like it if it took place in the Child Timeline, specifically in-between TP and FSA or even after FSA, either featuring a new villain or New Ganon (the 'dorf in FSA is a completely new character/reincarnation from the old one that appeared in other games) breaking out of the sacred realm/Four Sword. Speaking of which, what if you got the Four Sword in this one instead of the Master Sword? It could be pretty interesting to see in 3D, splitting into and switching between 4 Links on the fly to solve puzzles and **** in the third dimension.
this guy explains the problem with modern zelda games perfectly.
