So has this loot exploit "fix" also effected the refresh trick with loot boxes as well?
Gonna be a really **** move if so less they plan to have merchants sell all schismatics to compensate.
It seems you can still farm schematics, if that's what you're asking about.
It just amulets that made "POOF!"

Thank god, I was worried that those would get booted with the recent patch as well (even with the inclusion of a party storage chest, I still regret having patched my game now....
).
I was annoyed at the missing amulets but then again the game gets pretty easy later in the game so you really don't need them.
Addressing the thread title. I downloaded the patch last night and later picked up a power amulet for Vivenne. out wanderingt he Sacred Plains. Maybe the number or location of drops has changed.
Random drop or did it seem by design? Do you have a resave before it to test if it drops again?
Bioware, seriously?
It's like you WANT abuse from the community...!?
Someone in there read fifty shades of grey and thought, hmmm... aw yeah, give it to me, baby!
To abuse, or not to abuse, that is the question.

When your fans pay YOU to be your beta testers at $60 a pop....its smart to take advantage of them. Beats actually completing a game before you release it.....and then you even have fanboys that will defend you with every breath. Gaming is a trip these days.
Just like Bethesda though...I will never again buy a Bioware game on release day. It's bargain bin for me from here on out. I will get my monies worth and it will be as complete as its going to be....hell maybe I can even get a GOTY edition with all the DLC for free.
Black Emporium. Micro-transactions. The writing is on the wall folks.
Don't worry, you'll be able to buy all the amulets you want...
My thoughts exactly. On the "bright side" there is a "chance" that BE would be free if it offers cash shop microtransaction........ Ok that chance part is probably like 0.000000000000001%

Gaming? Sounds like being a consumer of software in general.
Microtransactions in MP wouldn't be a surprise, since ME3 already had that, but I imagine that like ME3, you can just as well get all of the same stuff without paying real money.

It's a conspiracy i tell you.
They purposely added in the exploits so we could use them, get a taste of what it feels like. Then they remove it along with the amulets.
Then just as we're mentally exhausted from all the grinding and farming for the good loot that we'll never get, in comes Black Emporium DLC to alleviate the stress.

A flawless business strategy if you ask me.

Don't know. Can't remember. Don't really care that much about this topic.
Was the amulet farming actually harming anyone considering that it was in the single player part of the game? I mean if I farmed 20 power amulets, that means nothing to anyone but me. Especially since no one even knew I did it and I just told you right here.
BioWare could release a hot fix to resolve the issue, though some people will still get screwed (if you kill a dragon in Patch 5, BioWare's fix to have the amulet drop again isn't going to help you any for that particular one). (For DA3, a hot fix is just a normal patch.) Because this issue affects more than just the PC, I'm not sure they'd even be willing to do a hot fix (since they'd have to go through certification for the console versions). Maybe they could bundle a fix into the Black Emporium (if that's releasing anytime soon); otherwise, we'll probably have to wait at least until Patch 6 next month.Another question. Would it be possible for Bioware to re-add in the amulats via hot patch? Or can they only be added back in via a normal patch?

Bloody f***ing hell! Someone please tell me that Bioware is aware of this and releasing a hotfix ASAP?! Please?! I am in the middle of the bloody fade just waiting for the damned Broken Window quest to get fixed, since I really don't want to pass on a free skill point. Seriously, this is infuriating! I just want to know if they're actually going to fix this or not, and their apparent silence on this matter is not at all comforting. And if they decide to take their sweet time, I only pray that someone makes a mod that fixes this, like the community patch for the Hinterlands mosaic nonsense. Until then, I'll be more agitated than Cassandra being declared Divine. ![]()

Why are there assumptions that this was a mistake that needs a hotfix rather than an intentional fix?

Why, oh why, would something this stupid ever be intentional? It's complete and utter nonsense! And besides that, something this dramatic would, or at least should, have been explicitly mentioned in the patch notes if it were intentional, and all they said was that they fixed an infinite amulet loot drop exploit, not removed them almost entirely from being looted. Either way, this is a massive f*** up on their part, intentional or not.

Because it leaves some companions with no amulets (RIP Dorian) and even removes amulets that are called out in text (the player amulet in the Fade). Why are there assumptions that this was a mistake that needs a hotfix rather than an intentional fix?
uuuuuh whats the point of having a Beta if you appearantly don't even listen to the feedback there? I guess someone had to find this out, unless they gave a demo version of the game to try on the patch lol
For those that participated in patch 5 beta testing, was the no power amulet bug reported? Was it another one of those "it got reported, but bioware just didn't give a s***"?
