I don't find the amulets of power that important, but jeez, the word "patch" has rarely felt so threatening before. They seem to be the coding equivalent of firing a shotgun into a melee and hoping the right guy succeeds with his dodge roll.

They're not. I  am playing a game without using them. Its easy to adapt.

For those that participated in patch 5 beta testing, was the no power amulet bug reported? Was it another one of those "it got reported, but bioware just didn't give a s***"?

It's not a bug, big boy. They intentionally removed them to stop people from farming them.

This has been acknowledged as a bug by EA support staff. Five seconds of Google search is guaranteed to be less time than some people spent on their hatred in this post.

End of conspiracy.

Enjoy life a little, it's awesome!

edit: This post shows that they definitely were not removed altogether outside the Wartable. Just drastically reduced. Curiously, most of these chests can also be savescummed, so I assume the removal was part of the "no exploiting" bulletin, and the employee understood the OP got no amulets whatsoever in his playthrough.

Please, rage on. I am since I'm stuck in the Fade until they fix the Broken Window amulet, so I have to play another game until they fix this. So unless they release a quick hotfix, I'll be raging until the next patch.

Don't know, but I know that I really can't do much until they fix it. I can load up an older save, but most of what I can do usually rewards an amulet of power that is missing. Really, I'm just wondering why I haven't seen any of the devs say anything about this, or even acknowledge the problem publicly. I've heard that it's been noted in the EA technical support website, but beyond that, no one seems to know if they're in any rush to fix the problem soon, or if they just expect us to wait until patch 6. Either way, their silence is troubling and infuriating. Any announcement or public acknowledgement is better than remaining silent, since this is a rather obvious and significant bug, and one that would interfere with a lot of players' experiences.

I always thought they were a bit silly and wouldn't really care if they were completely removed.

I skimmed the thread and apologize if it has already been noted, but the Amulet of Power for Solas is no longer found in the Temple of Mythal.

Wait.. I have seen a post by an EA employer asking for some generic information, but I haven't see them confirming that this is a bug and they are working on it, neither in that topic, nor in the patch 5 notes topic, where they usually address bugs introduced by some patch (like they did with broken crafted gear after patch4.

So keep the rant on!

(btw... I don't really care very much at this point of my game...)

I am playing the game without using most of the armor and weapons. Maybe those should be removed, since you only need one or two types. It's easy to adapt. There are also a load of potions I never use. Might as well chuck those useless things out of the game, too. It's easy to adapt using only a couple.

Or, people can realize that some people do find them important. Just because "you" find them useless, does not negate the fact there are some who don't. Also, it's pretty amusing to see the same people who were advocating removing exploits because it doesn't allow the game to be truly played how the makers intended because of a muck up, yet make excuses when the game doesn't play how the makers truly intended due to a muck up.

At this point I'm more upset that there hasn't been any confirmation whether the removal of the amulets is an intentional temporary thing, a bug, or a permanent change.   If it's a bug or a temporary thing?  Fine, they're working on it and some people will probably spend their game doing other quests or taking a small break.

If it's a permanent change?  Fine, I can live with that as long as they freaking say it.  It would be infuriating if x hours of gameplay later, they bring back the amulets and I find that there's no way for me to get them again.

In general, if you're expecting any sort of response, you'd need to ask on Twitter.

On the PS4, didn't find Varric's Amulet in Valammar and looks like I'm missing Cole's amulet from his chest as well.

I've been tweeting Bioware + DragonAge the past few days, but received nothing but silence.  =[

I'm also reluctant to play DAI again until there is some news of this.

Maybe special missed items should be added to the Black Emporium? Unique gear. Leave codexes and such to that other missed item store.  And when that finally gets added, new people can get any amulets they might have missed, and existing players can get all the ones they were barred from getting due to this.

Save your breath (typing hand). There is no need to explain anything to the likes of him/her. He/she is probably just some self-centered person with a world view like - If  the problem ain't concerning me then it ain't a problem.

I don't know if this has been posted earlier in the thread, I only read up to page 2, but there's apparently a mod that unfixes Bioware's amulet of power "fix". I don't know if it really works as I haven't tried it because I can't get the dai mod manager to work for me, but here it is.

Hope the mod works for you PC guys, but are we going to be waiting til patch 6 on consoles? I really don't want to play and miss all those ap. I need every extra bit to build characters like I like. About how long has it been between patches if anybody knows? Haven't been following it too closely for a few months, but I was about to get back to my second character..

You know, to me it's not so much that the amulets were taken away, it's another time that an exploit was "fixed" before an actual glitch or bug. As someone has said previously, it's a single player game, that I have paid for. Exploits are optional and IF I care to use them, how does it affect anyone but me? I can't grasp, from a customer service stand point, why you wouldn't concentrate on fixing things that have been an issue since day 1, like I don't know, the mosaics that you can't complete because some of the pieces are completely unreachable? Have the fixed Under Her Skin, an important side quest when siding with the Templars. And the fact that they call removing something from the game a fix is laughable.

Again, my rant is not that they removed the amulets, what ever you big baby, "you're not playing the game my way, I'm taking my toys and going home." My rant is the direction and priority Bioware seems to be going these days.

Why would getting extra abilities be an exploit when you can only use 8 of them on screen, not use others from the menu like DA:O, or switch them out during combat.

With every exploit they fix, its as if they are trying to put out a fire with gas. rather than fixing the underlying issues that steered some people toward those exploits. Like someone said earlier, its as if they are still designing the game as it were a MMO.

Is anyone posting here actually playing the game? I've picked up 7 or 8 amulets of  power since this thread started. 1 off a miniquest in the Eprise du Lion., 1 definitely out of loot. The rest out of loot or inner circle quests. I might have picked one up in the Fade. I hope Bioware/Ea ignores this thread, it seems to be just another troll-fest.

Well do you have the latest patch? With the amount of people saying they have the same problem, it has to exist. Maybe it just affects most but not others.
