It's so weird that my choices didn't sync into the keep, and instead they just put BioWare's canon as my choices. Lame, I'll just have to change them myself.

Anyway, here are the major decisions noted in BioWare's canon state of Inquisition

Inquisitor: Evelyn Trevelyan, Female Human Rogue

Allied with the Mages

Celene Rules Alone

Grey Wardens rebuilt and made Allies

Hawke is dead

Morrigan drinks from the Well of Sorrows

Cassandra is Divine Victoria

Hawke is dead...*sigh*

Remember, the 'canon' is just the simplest playthrough they can make so new players come across as few characters that have appeared before as possible so they don't get confused.

So far I've only done two of these things. Good to know I'm making them work hard.

Yeah...f**k their canon. I just wish they had synced the choices from my game into the Keep. There is a LOT to choose...and it's kind of straining lol.

Samson in Default Worldstate? A+. Though I was sort of hoping for a little variety in that regard.

Ah, well. There's always customized worldstates when they get that all hammered out good and proper. :)

Tiles don't get revealed if you havent done them.

Have you gone back and loaded up an end-game save since the tiles have been revealed?

Origins canon, as well as DA2s, meant squat to me, why should this?

Not really.

The default is the world according to Bioware. The authors. This is how they want the story to play out. That's more "canon" than anything the players, who are not the authors, make.

im surprised with the ally mages choice since hawke already allied with the mages kinda seems like a promage default dragon age. but having cass divine while not surprised at all there default world has conflict now between fiona and cass. i assumed allying with templars would bring some variety and a more safe world state because it wouldn't conflict with divine cass. But other then that it was predictable even the female human she did have the most focus voice actor leading up to the game

It only matters in so far as it gives some inkling as to where resources might go as a starting point for any of these choices, should they be relevant in a future game.

Like if Morrigan drinking from the Well is the default choice, then I'd guess if she were to come back in some future game, then its a greater chance all the variations of Morrigan might end up in a similar situation as Well drinking Morrigan did- like having access to similar powers  or the Dragon shapeshifting ability maybe achieved via different means.

No, the default world state is simply the path of least resistance for any new players so as to not overwhelm them with tons of callbacks to past characters and events that wouldn't make sense.

Well the Alistair comic was made on the assumption that it was an Alistair who did the DR but the default says that the DR was never performed, so assuming that just because it is the default means that it is canon and superior is just plain false. It is the choices that are intended to make the least amount of references to old games. Otherwise, you are saying that never doing any side quests is better just because it is the default.

Not to mention Bioware outright said that there is no canon except your own. In other words, it doesn't matter what the default is, what you consider canon is canon.

Canon in Bioware games is meaningless. It doesn't matter what the devs put because only a small percentage of people share it. All that matters is your canon. Part of the reason they won't have a canon for ME3. Imagine the ****storm if Bioware chose a ending and called it canon.

We all know synthesis is the Bioware preferred ending, like how Liara is their preferred love interest.

No...that is the choice of the smug arrogant producer, he wrote the thing himself.

The default choices are not the "canon" choices, "preferred" choices, "Bioware intended" choices, or anything remotely similar to that.

They are simply the choices that are the least confusing to new players who haven't played the previous games.

The defaults aren't chosen for story reasons, they're chosen to eliminate as many side characters as possible.

If one of those side characters returns in a later game, Bioware knows you'll recognize them (because you're obviously using a non-default world state), and they don't have to explain their backstory as much.

I hope they make the outcome of the Divine mutually-exclusive with player actions, just as it was in the game.

Can we please just say default instead of canon?  Would avoid a lot of confusion.

I'm still amazed at how many people are still complaining about the fact Hawke can die (or at least they assume she or he does) and how it is now such a major thing.  DA:2 according to most people was the worst BioWare game in years and Hawke played a major role in that.

I do think DA2 sucked and as such losing Hawke was irrelevant to me.  I don't mind in the slightest that that choice is now cannon.  I'm not trying to prove a point here with being a hipster, it's just my opinion.  However, i do wonder how many people that banged their gums for years about how rubbish Hawke was are now complaining about losing him/her.

Alistair comic is set in the default world state. Warden is dead and he married Anora.

I just wish people would stop calling default canon.
