It's not like Bioware haven't solved this before. They did with the Orlesian Warden in Awakening. It wouldn't be that hard to change some dialogue to make them the Orlesian Warden or Origins Warden. Yes, they'd need the race, but they can just let you design the Warden like with Hawke.
Why do people think it's impossible for the Warden to appear again?

Voice or not? Their characterization? What on Earth even were they? And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head.
Easier to keep them out of the spotlight.

- create a voice and ear people complain about it since their is has many voices has their are minds.
- make us build it from scratch through the character creator and ear people complain about it ( I was not happy at all about the way they poorly handled face import in ME3 and I let them know about it, for exemple)
- if it's not us playing it they would have to find a way to have him/her behave accordingly to our preset impressions with only the DA Keep to help them out, and ear people complain about it. (See how people complain about the way they handled Leliana in DA2 and DAI).
It's not impossible, but it's a very loaded issue and it has every chance of a backlash return which would not make the investment in time and money worth it.

Not impossible, just more difficult than its worth.

This answer sumarizes everything. The thread can be closed.

Actually my Hawke stayed true to how I'd played him. Even three years later, I felt that how he was going to turn out.

Comments like this is exactly why
If they made any attempt to bring back the Warden people would celebrate at first but as soon as he/she opened their mouth the forum would be flooded with hate threads
So why bother

Because many of us cannot reproduce our super awesome warden with the CC of DAI, often they are Wardens built with tons of mods and accuracy, so their beauty is over in DAO at worse or in Witch hunt at best, sad i know.

First of all the character is pretty much finished now.... Some people made the sacrifice in DAO, for them it wouldn't make any sense.
Second, reproducing the character in CC would be a pain.
Third.. if the character hasn't shown up until now, why bring it back ? And if they bring it back, how will the justify it's absence ?
It's more trouble than it's worth in my opinion.

Simply put, there is no possible way they can do it and not ****** off almost everyone over some detail of the HoF or Orlesian Warden if they tried it. Better to leave him/her as is and, the rest of that tale in each one of our heads (or in fan fiction land)

And now they got rid of Hawke too, since he can die in DA:I. So we can expect only text references about them in future:(
Still DA2 will always stay my favorite of all series, i couldnt connect to the story and companions in Inquisition as in DA2. Guess more personal story is it for me.

It's even harder because Gaider left Dragon Age. Time to moving on towards new ideas, I guess.

We just have to get used to feeling utterly no attachment to our protagonists. Because once their game is over, their relevance ends with the game.

The alternative is Mass Effect, where they have demonstrated they can still royally destroy everything we've worked for with our protagonists.
I'd prefer they just can the whole cameo ideas entirely. Inquisition could have happened without Hawke and I would have preferred it that way. I left her with Merrill where I assumed she was living happily ever after once they escaped that cesspool of a city, only to have to listen to her sadly declare they were now apart because of this game. Awesome. As if Hawke hadn't already been through and lost enough. Now she's being dragged away from the last bit of family she might have had to hold onto. I'm sure they could have found another way to bring us to that warden, but they really, REALLY like to beat up on Hawke for some reason.
Same thing with DA1. My warden disappeared because she's a train wreck after everything that happened. Let her stay gone.
Write new stories and characters and leave old heroes to enjoy their lives or self-imposed exiles.

that and having the warden back would only impact a 'small' portion of the fanbase (BSN). To those that have been there from the start.

Pretty much this, they would just screw my and your wardens up badly. Just look at what they did to Revan in SWTOR.
