I have virtually no hit points and I have no idea how to take care of the boss without us dying. I might have to cheat and get some health (how do I do that if I need to). Is there any extra supply caches (I already used the one very early on in the Great Hall)? Anything else?

I'm really stuck. I can't leave the place. I really don't relish the idea of going back to an older save, but I suppose I might have to.

This is what you get for siding with the Templars.

Thank you, the 2nd cache was there. But, I think I'm out of luck anyway. I can't kill that boss. I might be too underpowered. It keeps taking out my guys with ease.

That's possible. There should have been a level recommendation at the war table before you start it, if you're under that you're gonna struggle. Also, it's always a good idea to remember to keep your companions' gear updated as well as your own (some people forget that......>_>)

If it's any consolation, the Nightmare demon on Nightmare difficulty was one of the hardest bosses in the game.  I think it's the fact that you don't have your spec yet so you're using a pre Skyhold build, probably a generic one according to your class.  Neither Fiona/Denam was anywhere close as hard in the next mission.  As you said the fight basically drains your pots and the last part he tends to spam that tunneling move which is followed by the scream that stuns you for like 6 seconds and doesn't break even if you take damage.  As a warrior I had to time my charges and wait until he's done screaming before moving in.

The Envy demon is basically impossible for my party at this stage. I used an older save and went off somewhere else before going to the Redoubt. What really sucks about the Redoubt quest is that once you choose to go there, you're on a one-way trip with no backing out.

What quest line gets me to Skyhold?

That would be it, Inquisitor's Path. You have to do either Champions of the Just or, In Hushed Whispers to get the quest that will take you to Skyhold.

I've done both and, I do find Hushed Whispers easier on the final boss but, if you aren't good at closing rifts, that one can be bad too.

Honestly it's a mixed bag here. What i hated about "champions of the just" was the sudden explosions. One hit rips your life quickly which may of caused the TC's problem in the first place. Not to mention the fountain traps if you don't know your way around them which can get you too. In "Hushed whispers" I find it equally hard because your dealing with AI foes (venetori), mini bosses and fade busting. Out of the two final bosses I do find Envy harder than Alexius potions or no potions because Envy can full health kill a guy while Alexius can floor bomb a guy from full health to 25% no matter what difficulty.
