I have a fairly big TV, and though it's not HD, the text should not be as small as it is...will there be a patch for bigger text in the near future? I can just barely read some of the text, and it's worse when there's a blue background...
Bioware, the text is REALLY small.

YES, I've mad so many bad decisions just because I just can't read the text! I don't even read the info about weapons, gear, and the enhancments cause I flat out can't see em! I have 20/20 vision and a fairly good TV, but that writing is just so annoying sometimes! I'm like
the whole time playing it!!

Maybe we don't want to have to pay large amounts of cash to read text though Haven...

Same thing here, this game suffers from Dead Rising Syndrome - impossible subtitles unless in HD. My SDTV is quite large and I can't read subtitles most of the time.

100% agree. I can barely make out what some of the words are, even on my friends HD TV it's nearly microscopic, very annoying. On ME1 I enjoyed reading about planets and so forth, now i nearly go blind from trying to read blurry small text on ME2. Not being able to read some of the choices during conversations is annoying too.... they got blue and yellow text (when highlighted) with a bright white or blue backgrounds on some angles. I would hate to imagine people with bad eyesight trying to read that stuff.... That's my 2 cents.

I wish people would stop asking about the DLC problems that have been answered 1,000 times already, so a topic about this issue could stay at the front long enough for Bioware to read it...

I have a 52" 1080p HDTV, and even I have to agree. Too much of the text is really a little too small compared to ME1. I'm sitting closer to the TV as a result.

That is interesting as I have a 32 aoc hd tv, and i can read the text fro about 6 feet away. I have glasses and very poor eyesight too, probably 70/30. For the people with the Standard def tvs I feel bad because I had that problem playing Dead Rising before I upgraded, hopefully Bioware can patch it unlike capcom who just screwed a whole bunch of consumers with Dead Rising. For those with HDTV having trouble are you sure your 360 is set to output at the right resolution? I didn't realize for a while that to get my tv to output it in 1080i instead of 720p I had to go into my xbox system settings and switch it to 1080i supported resolution. Maybe that will work.

I too hope for a patch with a larger text option. I cannot read much of the text and have made many mistakes because of it.

You all simply need to play farther into the game to resolve the issue. If you are playing as a sentinel you can evolve your Tech Armor into Tech Issue Armor which is equipped with Tech Contact Lenses...Con-Techts. +30% text size, -50% pun crafting.
And if that doesn't help, then we need to sticky this thread or something, because there is a significant number of people experiencing this issue, and we all want to know what the hell our codex says. It's hard to get drawn into the game when I have no idea what the conversation wheel options are.

The people who say that those who cannot read the text (like myself) should just "go ahead and upgrade" are rather silly. Only 28% of people have HD televisions (engadget.com). Making it so that only people with HDTVs, and apparently not all of them, be able to read the text means that Bioware is ignoring the other 72% of people with standard definition televisions. If it is reasonable to assume that you would be able to read the subtitles on a DVD from your couch, I believe it is reasonable to assume you would be able to read the subtitles on a video game, especially in one in which I know so many people have worked hard on the plot, flavor text, and dialogue of.
Bioware, if you read this, and though I know you have many other concerns in helping people with their redemption codes, please provide a utility to change the font size (and color while you are at it).
Thank you.

To the top!
This is really a problem for a great deal of people, myself included. Will we see a fix, or something to increase the size of the font?

I had to move my 360 into my room to play it on my computer monitor. I could barely read the mission information, the subtitles, anything. It's nice to play it in HD (and up close it looks INCREDIBLE), but nothing beats seeing the epic visuals on a large screen. Whether people are being facetious or not by saying people with SD TVs just need to upgrade, do you really expect us to invest hundreds of dollars in something like that just to play a game because Bioware made a stupid oversight?
I'm not complaining as hard as I could because I have my own fix, but for the people without an alternative I think this kind of thing is unacceptable.

I'm having the same issue! Ugh. I CANNOT STAND TINY TEXT.
If BioWare had just put a dark grey box/whatever behind your conversation wheel, then it would be a hell of a lot easier on the eyes.

I agree with this as well...and I'm playing on a relatively small tv as well, so that makes everything even harder to read.

By changing the 360's screen settings from "normal" to "widescreen" in the Console Options pane of the start area helps a bit and removes the letterboxing. But it's still painfully small.

I don't really see a text issue, are we talking about the wheel where you choose what to say? It seems fine to me, I play ME2 on my 22 inch HD monitor . . . everything is crystal clear.

I was sitting like 2 feet away from my TV squinting at it all yesterday. I love reading all the little extra things, but I really can't bring myself to do it as of now. It's actually REALLY bad.

Yeah I have a 19" SDTV and poor eyesight, and this is really killing me. I'm probably going to get an HDTV sometime in the next year, but jeez, apparently even -that- won't help much. Even so I don't want to wait months to play it.
And can someone please sticky this thread, or one like it?

I wonder if it's something that would be an easy fix. A simple matter of changing a font size? I'm no game developer so I don't know. I certainly hope it's fixable, I'm perfectly willing to sacrifice my eyesight/non-essential organs to finish this game but eh... I'd rather not.
Considering the problems they're having with the Cerberus network, and invalid codes, that seems to be what Bioware is focused on at the moment. But if a title update was to come some point soon, this would be a good thing to have. It'll take it from a 9.8/10 in my mind to a 9.9.

Well, I got a 54" HDTV and I'm sitting about 10 to 12 feet away and I can't read SH!T. Mind you that I'm am near sited but DAMN that's some small text. Not as bad a Dead Rising, but come on. I can see the conversation wheel ok except for the white and blue backgrounds that obscure the text. A simple shadow on the conversation wheel help a LOT.
