I am going to try the widescreen setting on my 360 and see how that works. Especially since I just had to get up and get 3 feet away from television, lean in, and still had trouble reading. Mind you, I just went to the optometrist yesterday and he says my eyes are just fine. I will let everyone know how it goes.

It helped a little bit, but it still induces eyestrain to read the damn thing, which is unfortunate, as I usually read all of the flavor text that is put into a game.

That is interesting as I have a 32 aoc hd tv, and i can read the text fro about 6 feet away. I have glasses and very poor eyesight too, probably 70/30. For the people with the Standard def tvs I feel bad because I had that problem playing Dead Rising before I upgraded, hopefully Bioware can patch it unlike capcom who just screwed a whole bunch of consumers with Dead Rising. For those with HDTV having trouble are you sure your 360 is set to output at the right resolution? I didn't realize for a while that to get my tv to output it in 1080i instead of 720p I had to go into my xbox system settings and switch it to 1080i supported resolution. Maybe that will work.

I thought 720P is better than 1080i...unless you mean 1080p...

Always throught P(progressive) was better than I(interlaced)

Nothing? such as...? The game works fine for me other than this small issue of the text.

It also zooms by too fast for everything that continues automatically. What did the beginning screen say?

I am glad to see that I'm not the only one. Part of the problem might be the color combination of the text and the background color. I messed with the brightness in game and that didn't do much.

I'm playing on a 50 inch screen still having a lot of problems. It's like the screen font size is "8". Would love to have it bumped up to 10 or 12... :-)

I mean nothing text-wise.

I switched my Xbox 360 display settings to widescreen which helped a little with the small text in the game, but now by Xbox 360 text is squished and somewhat difficult to read. BioWare really should figure out a way to patch this, it is the only thing standing in the way of me enjoying this game completely. I believe Rare patched Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts after complaints about the text being too small.

So I keep hearing there was a patch this morning? Is someone playing now that can confirm if the text size was affected at all?

I have used two different SDtvs to try to play this game but the text is still too small on both. My old HDtv broke so I have been needing a new one but I put it off because ME1 and Modern Warfare 2 looked just fine on it. Well I got this game and can't even enjoy myself because all the text is too small. So I have had to start shopping around for a decent HDtv within my price range and it's been difficult to find one. : (

I just checked and text is still small. Although, at the beginning I was prompted for an update...who knows what it was for.

I just wanted to chime in as well.. I too and having issues with the text. It's a combination of too small and light color on light color background. So the option of adjusting size and color would be beneficial.

:(

I hope Bioware will have the text fixed. Banjo Kazooie N+B's fixed their text in less than a month

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem. Both the small text size and the light backgrounds behind conversation wheels are horrible choices, it's making it almost impossible to pick an informed dialog option for me. Here's hoping for a fix soon.

the only text thats bothering me is the notifications that pop up on the right hand side. The ones that pop up and tell you what you picked up/codex/journal entries. I have to stand up and put my face in front of my tv in order to read them. Usually by the time I get to the tv they're gone though. lol.

Yes, I mistakenly flirted with Jacob even though I didn't want to...lol. It's frustrating.

Yes. This. I haven't had too much of a problem with the conversation text. But the notifications, journal, any other sort of info screen, it's a squintathon. I just skip right to the close mission report thing, instead of actually reading over what happened.

"Mission summary: ...,,.,.,,,.,,.,,.,.,.,.,,,.,.,,..,. " <-----If those were letters.

I have a 60in SDTV. The only text I have had a problem with was when I needed to enter my EA account info and the Cerberus code. That txt seemed half the size as the dialog text once I started playing. I sit between 6-8 ft from the tv while playing and I am severely nearsighted.

edit:
I could try it on the 42in HDTV in my bedroom, but I dont have an extra audio/video cable and have no internet in that room.

So, Bioware, if you are listening...

I know you are taking care of a number of issues already (redemption codes, ME1 imports, Zaeed DLC), but has any discussion occurred or any decision made regarding this? Did QA bring it up as an issue? Did you really ship with what I would consider a P1 defect (since it severely impacts gameplay and is global instead of isolated)?

While you are at it, can we get the zoom and marking features back on the map screen, as well as the radar always being up on the HUD? Those were really useful.
