I posted this topic in tech forum, but somehow it got buried and I can't find it for the life of me so apologies if I repeat myself.

 

First off I bought the game at launch but I never had a good enough computer to play it until recently when I got my new computer, spec here:

Now that I have a excellent computer I am able to play the game on Ultra settings with FPS between 58-68 frames consistently.  What is driving me nuts though is why is everything so shiny like surfaces, armor, weapons?  Sometimes its so shiny it sparkles, its really breaks immersion for me, and I don't know what setting to change to make it better.  Sometimes I get plastic hair but not so much anymore with all the patches out.  I know that there has been a ton of issues in this game for people that have excellent computers and it appears I am one of them now lol.

 

Second question, I bought the retail DVD Deluxe Edition from Gamestop and I am at the part in the story where you leave Haven for the first time and go to Hinterlands and I am not seeing the free stuff that came with the game on back of box like throne, mount, the free flames of inquisition gear etc....what is the deal with that? 

 

I really like this game so far but these 2 things are really making me upset, I can play the game just fine as is, but still if anyone can help me I would be forever grateful!

For the shine, Shaders need to be turned up, Last one in Graphic options. That's all you can do there.

 

Should be a chest in the house you were in when you first got to haven with the first of the dragon (flames of Inquisition) weapons and armor. That's all you get for now. Once you get the mounts then you get a war table Mission to get the armored mount, at Skyhold, you will find that green chest again (in the undercroft) and more stuff, and the throne is for Skyhold too. Watch that trunk after Inquistor's Path quests, more stuff shows up later in the game.

Ok cool thanks for that, and one last question, how would I know if I have the latest patch? I looked in my file section in the program files under origin games and tried to find it but never saw anything, I would like to know if I have the latest patch for this game.

 

Regarding the flame inquisition armor, are you talking about the box on the floor in the middle of the room where you wake up? There was no flame armor in it.  

 

Just a quick edit, there is something seriously wrong, I looked up what the flame inquisition armor looks like and it is not in my room where I wake up in Haven.  I put the redeem code that was in my box on the origin launcher and through the website and nothing, I scoured that room and no box of goodies, what should I do at this point? It says I already redeemed this code.

Ok found out I had to individually download the addons from the Origin launcher, I thought it was already patched in so sorry for that.

 

So I am still looking for a answer for the patch question I had on how to find out if I have the latest patch or not

I'm not sure if I have seen a place in game or the game library that says what version you have. If you right click on DAI in your library and then check for update and let it verify you should be fairly certain to have the most current patch.

 

As for the armor it seems like I received a 2nd chest of armor or armor schematics in the undercroft after getting to Skyhold.

To see what version of the game you have, go to the Windows control panel and choose Uninstall a Program. Look at DAI, the version number is shown there. To be fully up to date it should read 1.0.0.6 for patch 5. (the last digit of the version number is one above the patch number.)
