im not ignoring evolution, im ignoring "spreading your genes" as a reason to have children, i mean other than being a ego boost whats the point?

 

I'm going to help Psychevore. Spreading your genes is an evolutionary argument for why people would engender more children. It means that the genes are surviving the environment, and they change the local population of people. For example, why are there so many Mongolian markers throughout Asia? It helps to understand how genes are distributed. It's not a conscious justification of human behavior.

He's so much of a jerk that he would rather you walk home in the rain because he doesn't want to get the paint wet on his car kind of a jerk...

 

That's why you have a beater that you can use in the snow, in the rain, or in a bad neighborhood, so you don't have to drive your nicer cars when you don't want to. As much as I love cars, they're meant to make your life more convenient and not worse. People who do that simply need to get their priorities straight.

 

So IMO, the jerk either bought a car that he couldn't afford or he simply preferred the car over you. Find another man who's not a jerk or a penniless sissy.

I've never subscribed to this and IMO it's just an excuse people use to explain why they cheat.

 

There are far too many examples of monogamy working for me to see this as anything more than a convenient excuse.

 

Threads like this make me laugh because the truth is that women do not know what they want. They will say one thing and then act upon another; Later lamenting the decision.

 

Not that men are any better but at least we are honest about our shallowness when it comes to sex and relationships.

I disagree. Men changes their minds far more often than women, often not knowing what they want, they act hot and cold as in one moment they want her and the next they don't because they get afraid to loose their freedom. With most women you at least know that they want a commitment, they want a serious relationship, which in fact scares away most men.

 

It scares away men who don't want a serious relationship. The type of man that women will 100% of the time say they don't want a relationship with. Yet in reality, it's the type of man they continually pursue, hoping they can change him.

 

 

I think it just depends on the woman or man. Not all women are the same, just like not all men are the same.  Some are cheaters, some aren't. Some know exactly what they want, some don't.

 

Your right, I apologize. This subject irritates me as I find most people to be pretty transparent when it comes to these things. So much time wasted and so much pain caused because people aren't honest with themselves or those they claim to "love".
