Freakium: I'll admit, I've been more than tempted to purchase the DLCs for ME3, as well as repurchasing the DLC for ME2 from time to time, even at full price, though I already have From Ashes, as I bought the Digital Deluxe edition, and couldn't really care less about Omega from the reviews I read, but I really want Leviathan and Citadel, which would go a long way towards salvaging the mess than this game, as much as I like the majority of it, was/is.
Then I remember the numerous sales they've had for the Xbox and PS3, and how one could even get Omega for free on PSN, while PC gamers got (and continue to get) nothing aside from a one-shot promo code to get Bioware points at a discount almost four years ago.
As miffed as I am about this disgraceful way of how EA/Bioware has handled this, or rather refuses to handle this, as by this time it is quite clear they obviously don't give a damn, I am reminded that there are other publishers who arguably aren't as callous towards their fans/customers, especially PC gamers, and worthy franchises out there, and three of them in particular (2K, Bethesda and Square Enix) are perhaps more worthy of my hard-earned cash with their three quite promising titles (XCOM 2, Fallout 4, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, respectively) this year/early 2016.
I'm well aware that EA/Bioware can run their company as they see fit. However, I can spend my money how I see fit, as well. Because of the attitude EA/Bioware has chosen to adopt towards PC gamers, I haven't spent a penny on Origin since I purchased ME3 during the 2012 Holiday season. By comparison, during the same time period, I've spent over $1200USD on Steam alone, and more on Amazon, Humble Games, and GOG (admittedly, $20 of that $1200 was spent on two EA titles, Kingdoms of Amalur and Bulletstorm).
While I lament not being able to play ME2/3 to their fullest potential, and by extension Dragon Age 2 (which has been on sale on Origin at rather tempting prices at times), nor will I purchase Dragon Age: Inquisition (as much as I want to, even with the issues the PC version has had/is having) or Mass Effect: Andromeda (aside from the choice in music, the E3 trailer didn't particularly impress me) the fact that EA/Bioware flat-out refuses to allow PC gamers to enjoy the same opportunities that their Xbox and Playstation counterparts, namely that of being able to purchase DLC at a significant discount, is even more lamentable.
I would quite happily welcome back EA/Bioware, and the Origin client back to my PC, with my credit card ready in hand, but unfortunately, given their past track record over the years, I'm pretty much resigned to that fact it's not going to happen any time soon. Which is a damn shame.
