I figured that rather then moaning about the lack of sales on PC DLC I would do some market research amongst gamers about how much they would pay to actually get the DLC, maybe if someone at Bioware sees enough responses in this thread with actual numbers, maybe THEN we will get a discount. Or maybe I'm just a dreamer... ;)

I checked the Bioware sites today, and the cost of the story DLC's from ME2 would add up to 25.60 Euros. For ME3 its 40.00 Euros flat.

Frankly at those price points, I will never buy the DLC.

For me personally, I would purchase the ME2 DLC if it was 50% off. So 12.80 Euros would get me purchasing, I would probably still grumble about it being worth more then the whole trilogy, but I would purchase at that price point.

For ME3, I think my price point would be somewhere between 15-20 Euros. At 15 i would definitely make the purchase. At 20 I would umm and ahh and I cant say if I would purchase it for sure or not. 20 Euros is still a lot for 3 year old DLC's.

So those are my numbers - 12.80 Euros for ME2, and 15 Euros for ME3 DLC. What would you pay to purchase the DLC's tomorrow?

They should've included them in the ME Trilogy box. Otherwise, 5€ or less for minor, 10€ for major DLCs. 20€ for season pass.

Thing is that the games were released at full price (U$S 60) each (U$S 180 in total) and now they are being sold on Origin for less than 10% of that price (right now the trilogy costs U$S15). Keeping the DLCs so expensive is just ridiculous, I doubt they are even selling. I wouldn't pay more than 20 dollars for all of them (including weapons, armor, etc, for both ME2 and ME3). Specially considering that there is no such thing as an "Ultimate Edition" like DA:O got, nor any kind of "DLC sale"

Seriously, right now it is more expensive to get a few of the DLCs packs than to get the entire trilogy. They should seriously give some thought to this issue.

The BioWare points system should also disappear, since newer titles don't use it.

Thats what I'm hoping comes out of this thread. If enough people show that they would buy it at a lower price point, maybe Bioware will drop the price. A single sale from a desperate gamer at the €60 for all the DLC wont earn as much as 4 gamers purchasing at €20. I guess Bioware has the sales figures already, but if we can convince them with this thread that the trickle of sales they get now for the DLC would be swamped with a deluge of sales if they dropped the prices, then maybe, just maybe, we'll get the DLC sale that PC gamers have been denied so far...

A complete "Mass Effect 2 and 3 DLC Pack" for € 20,00 tops would be reasonable at this point in time!

I've bought all the ME2 and ME3 DLCs so I guess I was OK with their prices. As a french proverb says, "when we love, we don't count".

At £3 I'd pick up a few of the more interesting ones.

While it tacks on nice content, I think they should follow in footsteps like Borderlands 2. Longer, more fleshed out content go full price for about $10 and it's pretty worth it. And have frequent sales like Steam. But I don't know if Bioware or EA have the final say on marketing decisions—probably the latter.

I bought every piece of DLC when they got released and happily paid full price for them.

You're complaining about paying full price for extra content when you already got the game at a cheap price.  No, all the DLC shouldn't be included.  It's annoying enough PC players can buy ME1 from Origin and get Pennicle Station, but they are unable to get Bring Down the Sky DLC for the first game.  However, those who bought it as a trilogy gets that DLC.  It's DLC I want for PC, because it makes me feel like I'm missing something when talking to Balak in ME3.

BTW, I own all three games on Xbox 360 and PC.

Pretty much this.

Paid full price for the DLC's, and for what I got, I would gladly pay full price all future DLC's in future games.

I've no reason to want to go cheap. Brought all 3 on Xbox, the first 2 on Steam, then all 3 individually on Origin, then the trilogy on Origin.

...Now that I think about it, I should probably stop buying games lol.

Thank god after Witcher 3 there's really nothing else besides Battlefront and a possible Gears remaster.

I think I'll use that time to get christmas presents early!

25 € for both ME2 and ME3 DLC's (or without weapons etc...).

I would also buy them at full price at the release date, but these games are years old now, no matter how brilliant they are. To pay as much as for brand new DA:I just for few (although very good) DLC's seams quite absurd.

Maybe it would be better now to wait for the "remastered trilogy" and hope we get it with all DLC's for a reasonable price :)

I have only a handful of DLCs for my ME games and only those story related ones (Shadow Broker, Leviathan and Citadel). In my opinion, they were waaaayyy too expensive, but as reviews and fans said that they contain great content and I'm a huge fan of ME, I bought them anyway. Especially at this time, all DLCs for the ME games cost too much.

In my opinion, lower prices would very likely result in a higher overall profit. For you guys saying here that they "don't want to go cheap", I'd like to remind you that 40€ (cost of all ME 2 DLCs together) are a lot of money. I could buy 2-3 weeks of grocery for that, it pays electricity for a month and so on. Talking games, I could buy half a Steam sale with that amount of money. While waiting is normally an option for gamers only willing to pay a quite low price, as most games only cost 75% or less than their original price after some years, these 3 year old DLCs are still damn expensive. At least DA: Origins came in a ultimate edition with all DLCs.

For a DLC, which offers 2-3 hours gaming experience I would pay around 5€ and a season pass for around 20€. It's a sum a lot more people would be ready to pay. And I don't really want to know how many Bioware fans became "pirates" for getting the DLC, as it is just way too expensive right now.

I would probably purchase them if they were 50% off.  I would definitely purchase them if they were 75% off or higher.

Right now, I'm thinking about repurchasing the entire Mass Effect Trilogy and all of its DLC because I don't like playing on the Xbox 360 any longer.  However, even though the ME Trilogy can go on sale, the DLC never does.

Basically, even though ME Trilogy is on sale, buying all of the DLC would literally cost me over 4x as much as the game itself.  I'll pass.  And if I can't get the DLC for a complete game experience, then I don't see any point in buying the base games either.  So I am buying absolutely nothing right now.

I'm not exactly sure why Bioware hasn't adapted to the times and learned to provide DLC price cuts (or even temporary discounts) on old content.  They would make a tremendous amount of money from digital sales if they were simply intelligent enough to drop the price.  Far more than they are by holding out for whatever ridiculous reason they may have.

Frankly, I think it's absurd that I'd even have to repurchase the DLC since I already own it on another platform, but I doubt that matters to Bioware.  I'm willing to work with them even despite this, but they don't seem to be willing to work with me.  Whatever.

I purchased most of the DLC for ME2 the first time I bought it, quite happily at full price.  That was in 2010.  Then ME3 came about a couple years later, and, long story short, I was one of those rather displeased with the ending, to the point where I gave away my original Origin account as well as all of my Mass Effect games to a friend.

In an interesting turn of events, that same friend, either out of gratitude or as some kind of joke, gifted me ME1 and 2 on Steam during the 2012 Holiday sale.  Admittedly, being the completionist that I am, I halfheartedly browsed Origin's site shortly thereafter, and was mildly surprised to see the ME3 Digital Deluxe edition on sale for $20.  I figured, "ah, what the hell?", created a new Origin account, and again found myself in possession of all 3 Mass Effect games.

I played all three games again in early 2013, and quite enjoyed all of them (except for a certain part of 3, of which the Director's Cut did soften the blow somewhat);  however, I felt there were quite a few voids story-wise in my last playthrough, and I wanted (and still do want) to fill those gaps with DLC...

However, I have no desire to pay full price (again in the case for ME2; I haven't purchased any DLC for 3, although I would like to get my hands on Citadel and Leviathan, and even Omega, just for the sake of completion) for DLC for games that were released three to five years ago.  At least Xbox and PS3 owners have on a fairly regular basis been able to purchase Bioware DLC for 50% off.  The last time PC owners have had the opportunity to buy DLC at anything approaching that discount was in 2011.

And it doesn't just stop at Mass Effect.  I also own Dragon Age: Origins (Ultimate Edition;  really wished the ME Trilogy was released like that - with ALL DLC bundled together).  I've been tempted to purchase DA2, especially given the quite low prices I've seen for it when it goes on sale on Origin.  However, like ME2/3, DA2's DLC pricing has remained remarkably stagnant over the past 3 years.

Leaving DA2 aside, it would cost me 5120 of those wonderfully archaic Bioware points (or $64 USD) to fill the gaps story-wise to my Mass Effect experience.  Could I afford to?  Quite easily.  Do I want to?  Not really.  Chalk it up to a combination equal parts of my being a cheap bastard as well as principles.

If the prices on those DLCs were to drop by at least half (and to put a cherry on top, how about abolishing the entire BW points system, for all time?), the probability that I'd purchase said DLCs, or even new Bioware games would go up quite a bit higher than they are now, which is currently zero.  I would like to purchase DA:I eventually, or even consider Mass Effect Andromeda (hopefully there will be a more comprehensive trailer than what was released at E3.  The only thing that I really liked about that trailer was Johnny Cash, but I digress...).

I'll join the 50% group. For most DLCs, anyway -- I think Omega would need to be 75% off, and I don't think I'd ever buy any of the equipment or appearance packs.

Bought all story DLCs for ME2, already had ME1 ones but i can't simply afford to pay ME3 DLCs. Not after Steam summer sale at least :)

To me 50% off sounds good enough as regular price.

5 dollars/euros per one and 20 dollars/euros for package per game also sounds nice. Call it season pass..

At least they should make some deals from time to time :)

PS: Haven't calculated but probably someone can buy BF4+BF hardline bundle for the cost of ME2+ME3 DLCs or you can get Crysis Trilogy instead of ME 3 ones. Kinda unfair me thinks.

Agreed. The DLC needs a price shave. The game's 3 years old now. I already have two of the ME3 DLCs on my Xbox and I had originally waited for an Ultimate Edition of ME3 for PC. That never came for two years so I decided I would just buy the digital deluxe edition when it went on sale. Now I've decided to have a go at another playthrough and I just can't help but think I'm missing a lot with the missing DLCs. Who knows, eventually I might break and buy them at full price but if that's how they want to do business, I'm out.

Freakium:  I'll admit, I've been more than tempted to purchase the DLCs for ME3, as well as repurchasing the DLC for ME2 from time to time, even at full price, though I already have From Ashes, as I bought the Digital Deluxe edition, and couldn't really care less about Omega from the reviews I read, but I really want Leviathan and Citadel, which would go a long way towards salvaging the mess than this game, as much as I like the majority of it, was/is.

Then I remember the numerous sales they've had for the Xbox and PS3, and how one could even get Omega for free on PSN, while PC gamers got (and continue to get) nothing aside from a one-shot promo code to get Bioware points at a discount almost four years ago.

As miffed as I am about this disgraceful way of how EA/Bioware has handled this, or rather refuses to handle this, as by this time it is quite clear they obviously don't give a damn, I am reminded that there are other publishers who arguably aren't as callous towards their fans/customers, especially PC gamers, and worthy franchises out there, and three of them in particular (2K, Bethesda and Square Enix) are perhaps more worthy of my hard-earned cash with their three quite promising titles (XCOM 2, Fallout 4, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, respectively) this year/early 2016.

I'm well aware that EA/Bioware can run their company as they see fit.  However, I can spend my money how I see fit, as well. Because of the attitude EA/Bioware has chosen to adopt towards PC gamers, I haven't spent a penny on Origin since I purchased ME3 during the 2012 Holiday season.  By comparison, during the same time period, I've spent over $1200USD on Steam alone, and more on Amazon, Humble Games, and GOG  (admittedly, $20 of that $1200 was spent on two EA titles, Kingdoms of Amalur and Bulletstorm).

While I lament not being able to play ME2/3 to their fullest potential, and by extension Dragon Age 2 (which has been on sale on Origin at rather tempting prices at times), nor will I purchase Dragon Age: Inquisition (as much as I want to, even with the issues the PC version has had/is having) or Mass Effect: Andromeda (aside from the choice in music, the E3 trailer didn't particularly impress me) the fact that EA/Bioware flat-out refuses to allow PC gamers to enjoy the same opportunities that their Xbox and Playstation counterparts, namely that of being able to purchase DLC at a significant discount, is even more lamentable.

I would quite happily welcome back EA/Bioware, and the Origin client back to my PC, with my credit card ready in hand, but unfortunately, given their past track record over the years, I'm pretty much resigned to that fact it's not going to happen any time soon.  Which is a damn shame.

I think the ME2 DLC is priced just fine.

Mass Effect 3's though...

1. From Ashes- should be free

2. Leviathan- $4.99 or $6.99

3. Omega- $6.99 or $9.99

4. Citadel- I think it is worth the $14.99

Yeah, SilJeff, to me, at this point, the DLC should be priced/discounted to:

From Ashes - Free (or if priced at all, $5 tops)

Leviathan - $5 ($10 tops, like it currently is)

Omega - $10 (I found $15 already overpriced at release, but there really is a lot in there - just not enough)

Citadel - $10 (maybe still $15 - it is the only DLC to feel like any sort of true expansion pack; not saying it literally is, but it can often feel like it)

Omega and From Ashes continue to be the big offenders, and Leviathan somewhat (but more in terms of "I have to pay money to make the main plot make more sense? WTF?").

= ~$25 for all ME3 story DLC, instead of current ~$45+

Or really at this point, bundle the damn game already!
