When you speak to Josephine about allying with Tevinter or Nevarra and you ask about the Archon she says something about him having a soft spot for cats? And you do get some odd dialogue from Hawke when ask about Anders, providing he was living and romanced. I did however stab Anders in my current world state but I stabbed him in the fluffy, feathery part of his robes. Anyway I'm pretty sure there is nothing to it, and my brain just wandered off a bit, it just seems somewhat odd to me. But what throws this idea off the most is that she says the Archon is heir to an ancient bloodline.

I find it unlikely that Anders could work his way that high up in the Imperium.

Anders (not named) and his cat love was first mentioned in a codex in DAO during the Broken Circle mission, if I recall correctly.

With that said, given the lengths Bioware went to provide an "end" for Hawke and given the aggro they get over Leliana, it seems unlikely that Anders would get hand waved alive and into power in Tevinter.

I would have thought that the proposition of Anders going to Tevinter and becoming Archon in three years would throw you off more.

Actually it did make me double take.  I was a bit proud of myself because I almost always (despite reading all the lore and listening intently to characters) miss the heaviest of hints.  I would LOVE it if it was Anders, but given my track record, I doubt it.

However, I laughed a bit when she said he was fond of cats, because my mind wondered to him too. Although, my Hawke is alive and romanced him. I would hate that my hawke was thrown away to make him Archon.

Imagine if you didn't (or couldn't) kill him and it was him?  What a f*ucking good piece of story it would have been though.  Hunt Anders down as part of Inquisition, Jesus, even I'm turned on.

Maybe Justice caught Anders' love of cats from him, and now the Archon is his new body?

Sigh. I honestly don't know where you people get these things. More than one person in Thedas can like cats. You know who also likes cats? David Gaider! David wrote DAA Anders and I've actually thought the Anders cat thing was pretty adorable as it seems like David injecting a bit of himself (along with the snark) into the character.

Maybe not Anders but just what if Justice/Vengeance did survive and, now posesses that Archon after having learned a fascination with cats form being joined with Anders? Now that, to me is more possible than the Archon being Anders.

Yep.

 

Andervengence flits about as a spirit and finds someone who is/becomes an Archon.

 

Cool headcanon for now.

 

I like it because I like Justice and don't think he was the problem in DA2.
