That is so beautifull Adela! Saw pics of people trying it out  on the modders thread too, really in my opinon the most beautifull hair in DAI for females yet :)! Keep up the gooooood work, I wish you well and strength!

And Im so very sorry to hear you lost your beautifull old hair  files to PC trouble, I don`t know you but trying to send you hugs/something comforting for that catastrophy  :( They looked stunning!

Also sad that that patch 6  proved to be another  hardship for modders, but I want you to know that I for one am happy to stay at earlier patch for mods, and I hope you don`t give up, so close to getting actual models inside the game, though the frustration must be huge.

No comfort really, but I remember when I`d modded Oblivion Imperial Island and  environs to a tropical jungle (=old TES lore friendlines :D) for my "personal use" or "maybe publish later if it`s good enough" for  about year:  and then my PC blew up in a blue flame (NOT modding related lol) - I`d only seen my huspand cry maybe two times at very serious occasions, and he really cried when he saw me crying and hopelessly looking at the years work evaporating with the PC.  But arrrgh, got an external harddrive to make backups on after that, not that I remember to use it nearly often enough ...

PS. tried out the Test hair in the prologue, worked well and looked extremely good :) = Way it  frames her face is so very  nice, better than any vanilla hair , though I personally would love longer hair/a bun behind, being a hair for life type of woman :D.

If you are working on anything new/, my personal wishes ( noooo pressure intended :D)  would  be for anything that  that "looks long" or medium length  even if its a bun, braided, upddo etc! And cheers again, wonderfull work!

Unfortunately I have some bad news.. as Kiharani stated the new patch six wont work with mods. We are trying to look for  solutions to solve it without the coders since they have taken a break... so please be patient  until a fix comes along, this might take a while

Also thank you Kiharani for the kind words :)

Yay, this is so exciting! I have been hoping for hair mods ever since the game was released, and yours look amazing. I can not wait to see what else you do, once the new patch issue is solved. Is body mesh editing possible yet? I looked at your tutorial on the free forums, and thought about attempting to edit some of the elven body models.

That is why I have not downloaded Patch 6 and the DLC yet. I rather have my MODs then have to look at ghastly Mum'Ra PJs. :P

It's not so bad as you think, though you may already be aware of this temporary fix (if indeed it works, I haven't tested it myself).

The patch7 from here works: http://www.reddit.co..._run_mods_with/

But: You must do this (I copy the words of MURDRAX, not mine):

okay I figured out what was wrong somehow the patch thing got corrupt anyways after use. I dowqnloaded a new copy and tried editing worked fine so looks like everytime want toad mod to it going to have to delet old file and copy over a new copy before merging lol. but hey got it working game runs now!!

I have copy over the file "Patch7" BEFORE and AFTER merging and it works!

:) Thanks for the wonderful work Adela! ;)

It seems this instructional video worked for me, at least with the hair.

I might give the hair mods a try now that I can get mods working again.

Had to make sure the Data/Win32/Loc file was actually in merged patch. As it wasn't for me. So game would just freeze at start up. Just copied from patch and placed in merged. Also tried the .49 Mod manager alpha. Worked great. Just a normal rename patch to something else and name merged to patch.

Good bye boring pajama cloths B)

I just wanted to post a quick update on the state of hair mods. There are a few awesome modders out there who are still plugging away at them - including Adela, our patroness and queen  :wizard: . So I put together a quick Tumblr post that has links to all the disparate mods related to hair that have been made, though a warning: most require Ultra graphics on your PC.

Here's the link, and I highly recommend you check them out and don't give up hope! The BE is due out soon, so you could even be able to use these mods on existing characters!

You know, I'm actually in software development myself. I don't think you folks understand that, with deadlines and funding being a concern, you can't always deliver things like that hairstyle that everyone loves. Different folks like different things.

And EA isn't very understanding with this kind of thing. Anyone remember the original ME3 ending? Chances are, Bioware had the patched ending in the works (probably just needed a few more things before it was ready). But EA wanted the game released before they got a chance to add the better ending. Fortunately, Bioware had the patched ending ready to go a few months later. That one was all EA's fault, not Bioware's.

Point is, you guys need to be more cognizant of the realities here. It's not that Bioware could not or didn't want to do these things. It's that hard deadlines are not negotiable, so they didn't have time to make enough hairstyles to satisfy EVERYONE.

Deadlines, funding or not doesn't mean Bioware has to do a crappy poor job. If my boss gives me an assignment, he expects me to do the job and not do it in such a lazy matter like Bioware is known for. I'd get into hot water if my boss found out the task i was given wasn't to his satisfaction. Bioware shouldn't have the luxury of being sloppy regardless of what they are being tasked to do. But ever since they sold themselves out to EA they became a shadow of their former selves.

Also I just got back with the confirmation of The Black Emporium DLC for DA:I and guess what? No new Hairstyles....   So Adela has already created better hairstyles for this game that the Devs failed to deliver. So score 1 for Adela  :)

Adela: 1, Bioware: 0

I'm grateful for the modders for their effort but I wish BioWare would give us better hair, so that modding the game files wouldn't be necessary. There's not a single hairstyle in DAI CC that I can say I like, not one. Unfortunately - no matter how well done - I don't really care for Adela's hairstyle, either. It's just not for my taste and therefore I'm still stuck with original game hair options. Please BioWare, step up in this matter. :(

I agree, but  they rather focus their time and energy on other things rather then improving the game's CC selection. The Black Emporium DLC for DA:I was their chance to correct the mistakes they made but instead they never bothered with it by adding more options for hairstyles.

Adela, please know that your efforts in modding the hideous game hair is VERY much so appreciated. I will test this out as I was just about to create my 1st Female Human Mage since purchasing the game. Again, thank  you for all of your efforts. I love the hairs you've displayed so far.

If you guys want longer hairstyles then im afraid your out of luck by both BW and modders .  The modding tool is very limited as it is  that we can only modify existing hairs from the game and try to turn it into something else. We cannon make custom meshes. So if your not satisfied with what I've  done or any other modder.. well too bad.. not a lot of options going on considering the limitations, and the amount of hours spent on modifying the existing hair, while the geometry is not clean and we have to go strand by strand.

As for BW while you might not like that they "rather spend time on other things"  well.. guess what, they spend time on DLC's and trying to fix bugs that ppl had/have , I call that more important then a bunch of hair styles.  Even if I myself  am not a big fan of the vanilla hairstyles but at the same time I get why they don't spend a lot of time on that specific manner considering a lot of ppl don't really care about CC and they just want to play the game. Not to mention all the hassle that involves rigging a  long hairstyle to every different armor of each class and race. Even if Modders were able to  import custom meshes we would still have issues with clipping through the armors. So best compromise is to make hairs shorter and only have them rigged to one or 3 bones, instead of all

So please next time u post be more considerate  and think about the devs, and the work and time that actually goes into making such things possible and the pressure they have to deal with. Sure its easy to ask for stuff but not so easy to make it specially if u have a deadline and u are "ordered" to do specific things

All I hoped for from BW was those braided styles they already showed in their character concept art before the release or a few shoulder length styles. I could care less for long, flowing hair.  Also, I definitely haven't "ordered" them to do anything. There are numerous threads about players asking for better hair, there have been from the start. Also, it is not inconsiderate to hope for something and ask for something. I've never, not once, said that BW must do them, that I just have to have them and have them now. I would never order or demand them to do anything. That's not the kind of person I am. Even in my last post I said "I wish", not "BW must".
