All I hoped for from BW was those braided styles they already showed in their character concept art before the release or a few shoulder length styles. I could care less for long, flowing hair.  Also, I definitely haven't "ordered" them to do anything. There are numerous threads about players asking for better hair, there have been from the start. Also, it is not inconsiderate to hope for something and ask for something. I've never, not once, said that BW must do them, that I just have to have them and have them now. I would never order or demand them to do anything. That's not the kind of person I am. Even in my last post I said "I wish", not "BW must".

I'm pretty sure we all wanted those hairstyles from the concepts  that we saw before release. The thing about those  however, is that those were just sculpts made in Zbrush. If u got the DAI art book you would see more longer/shoulder length hairstyles that didn't make it in the game... why? Same reason as i explained before  clipping issues of armor and diff races.  Other games you might see that have more decent hair styles  such as Tomb Raider and the like, is cause they don't usually change their clothes/armors to a more  bulky structure that can cause issues. The only reason Im saying this is because I use to work for a gaming company and I know how much of a pain in the arse it is, and when i see ppl complain about stuff like this and have no idea what it involves it kind of rubs me the wrong way.

As for the order stuff I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the company/publisher that pressures you and pushes/ "orders" you to do specific things that are more important to the game and the majority of ppl such as bug fixes  and DLC/ story content   that could get the company more money.

I've grown accustomed to the "bad hair day all day for everyone" styles we're stuck with (at least on consoles). I enjoy the challenge now.

Yeppers it would be nice to have the hair styles I get in Skyrim with ApachiiHairforfemale's, and SGHairpackBase in skyrim. I think I have almost 300 different hair styles there, maybe more.

Would also be nice to have the same control over character creation that I get with RaceMenu, and RacemenuPlugin.esp's in skyrim too.

Of couse having all the different Body's to choose from there is very helpful too, what with UNP, and UNPB, and CBBE, and UNP7base.

as well as all the extra clothing, and armor mods.

Want to thank you very much for trying to give use more choices here.. Thx U!

Great that the modding community is on it! :)

My biggest whish concearning hair would be to get those styles from DA2 (and possible DAO). I liked quite a few of them.

I'm just sorely missing my Hawke's hairstyle; as it is, I can only approximate it so much (he either loses more hair or magically regrows some) and he just doesn't feel a 100% like my Hawke this way :'(

I made a Compendium, split across two different Tumblr posts. I will keep these up-to-date with as many hair mods as I know about, so if you notice a hair mod you use missing, let me know. It also tells you which hair mods replace which original hairstyle so that you don't accidentally try to use two mods for the same base hairstyle for the same Origin/gender.

DAI Hair Mod Compendium Part 1
DAI Hair Mod Compendium Part 2

Note that these are the works of many different modders and are sourced from several different places.

Wow, thank you so much for this!!!  <3

Personally I love Hair n (mh_xx_n_model_mesh) but I hate the huge forehead and male pattern baldness hairline.  Please, could someone fix the hairline for female elves?  Thank you in advance!

She seems to have removed her thread, for whatever reason. I left a message on her tutorial hoping someone could answer and give me insight.

I was patiently waiting for her to do a Qunari hair when this happened.....This is what I get for not downloading immediately.

She mentioned why on the DAITools forum and I quote, "There were... some issues with a person on Nexus that claimed that one of my old hairstyles was his, The Nexus moderators were kind enough to take it down after providing proof. After the incident i decided not to share my mods anymore... seems like all this "attention" only brings bad things to me, 1st im being harassed that my hairs suck and that they dont look like Skyrim and now my stuff gets stolen.... Sorry to say but im kind of done with making my mods public, im just gonna make stuff for my self now."

Adela, first let me say, I am so sorry that you have felt the need to take down your work.  We are short of modders as it is, and really good ones are even harder to come by.  I mod myself, so can certainly understand how you feel about your work being stolen, or plagerized in any way shape or form.  As for the haters, they simply have no idea how difficult it is to mod, usually because they are too lazy to learn in the first place.  I know it is difficult to hear unwarranted critisim on your work, to which I can only say, let it roll off your back.  There are far more appreciative people out there than haters, I think.

I noticed that you have reposted the link for the other hair mods out there, minus your work, of course.  I really hope that you reconsider, and put your work back up!!!  :crying:   There are many of us that do appreciate the work that you have done, and were anxiously awaiting for more.

Hope to see you back Adela, and thanks for what you have done so far. I am sure I have told you this in a previous message somewhere, but here it is again.

Cheers,  :D

You need to make sure that your meshes are set to 'Ultra' in the game options, or the hair mods won't show up in the regular game. Also be aware the hair mods won't show in the Black Emporium, but will show up outside of it.

I'm really liking your Idea and style Adela, however can i ask something real quick?

The hair styles you're making there for any graphic setting right? because as much as i want better hair styles i'm not going to be paying 400$ to buy a decent grahpics card to play on ultra setting

I currently have no graphics card because my last one all but self destructed over the years so i can only play on Low graphic setting i can bring it up to medium but then it lags to bad to play, Hopefully when i manage to get a new one i'll be able to play on medium settings at the very least inquisitions grahpics are a bit over powered for this computer.

I just wanted to ask that befor i downloaded the test branch and found out the hard way that i need such and such of settings other wise i cant use them

Currently all hair mods must use Ultra settings. This has to do with the limitations inherent in modding Frostbite at all. As it is, modders spend hours - sometimes days - on one hairstyle to make it work in Ultra. To make it work in every level (which, frankly, is not even be possible for most hair mods) would require the SAME hours PER level (ultra, high, medium, low) - there's no way to just 'import' between levels. For this reason, the hair mods all work on an Ultra setting, but not lower.

As an addendum to someone worried about dropping $$$ on a graphics card just to play on Ultra...if you really wanted to do it, you could probably find a good used card for pretty cheap that will let you play on the setting you need (provided the rest of your system isn't too ancient). I don't believe you need all graphics settings on Ultra, just Textures. Tklivory, please correct me if I'm wrong!

I know NVIDIA just released a new flagship card this month and there will be droves of folks buying the "new and shiny" and selling off their old cards. Heck, I'll be doing it too...and my current card is still more than most people need and can run this game (and Witcher 3) on Ultra.

Just meshes, not textures. I'm not sure what graphics cards can handle that, but it *is* just meshes, not all settings. I should have clarified, thanks, Melissa!

it is possible to make it on lower LODs i just choose not too because the higher lods have more geometry to work with. And even on my tutorial i sated that  ppl dont have to work on lod 0 they can work on witchever one  they want

And on lower LOD's it wouldn't really require the same hours, since it has less geometry  it would be a bit faster,  but it wont look the same as the higher lod... it would look a bit blockier depending on the hairstyle u are trying to make

For some reason, I can't get any of the hair mods to work with the Black Emporium.  They only work for me if I start a new character.  Is there a way to fix this?

Hair mods does not appear at BE, but if you have them installed, they work. They'll just appear once you go to different location. I hope I make sense...
