If you had to pick between your favorite respective love interests from each universe, who would you pick? 

I was recently asked to choose btw Cullen and Garrus. Can't. Just can't lol. 
At first I was inclined to say Garrus, because I assumed someone from the 'future' would click with me better than someone in a medieval setting. Sci-fi people also just have better hygiene  But if I had to pick based strictly on personality, IDFK. 

Do you know who you would pick?

Dragon Age: Cassandra.

Mass Effect: Tali. 

 

I say I would go for Cassandra, since she's very different than what we have had in the female LI department. Strong and determined, and don't need no one to look after her, but would let her guard down for the man she loves.

 

Tali offers a much different experience, but her loyalty is what makes me like her so much. The other squad members come and go, but Tali is always there to have Shepard's back. 

 

Choice: Cassandra.   I feel she would cut down anyone that opposes her man.

Mass Effect:  Kaidan

 

I'd go with Kaidan, hands-down.  I love that character.  He's everything I want in a LI and the three game build up for a male Shep just makes it that much better.  That being said, Dorian is really top notch as well.

If I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO CHOOSE...

 

Miranda, by an ultra-slim margin. Like, Miranda is a 10, Cassandra is a 9.9, and that's more really because more time is spent with Miranda, so she has greater opportunity to be fleshed-out as a person.

I would rather just sit Kaidan, Thane, Garrus, Alistair, Sebastian, Cullen, Blackwall, Zevran and Fenris in a nice round table with enough cheese and soft drinks for all to discuss for hours how wonderful and incredibly badass their girlfriends are.

Alistair. There was actually little debate for me here. Alistair makes me laugh. He's closer to my age range. I love Kaidan with Shepard, I couldn't picture him with anyone else, including me.

 

I might see Kaidan as an older brother figure. We definitely face the same social awkwardness when it comes to some situations

My picks from both would be Liara and Isabela, and in that case, Isabela, by a league.

Both are awesome but Kaidan just has a special place in my heart. Probably because Kaidan and Shepard had a three game dynamic, even though they weren't together for two of those games.

Morrigan is my favorite DA romance. But in Mass Effect its got to be Garrus.

 

And if I had to pick DA or ME romances I would have to pick ME on the simple fact you can actually have a romance carry across all three games. And that really gets into your heart. Where as in DA its different each time.

Kaidan vs Dorian:

 

After some soul searching, I'll have to give Dorian the slight edge. More due to how the romance was written rather than the characters. Dorian's romance is a uniquely queer experience, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a same-sex love story in media that wouldn't be the same if you swapped the gender of one of the characters. I really appreciate that.

 

For my female protagonists, it would be Liara vs Isabela.

 

Isabela definitely wins that one.

Eh I find it hard to choose because I got 3 games with Garrus...one building a strong friendship, one solidifying that and transferring it to something more, and one cementing that bond, ya know? It's just a lot bigger and more complete than DA's LI, which isn't a slight to then, just a nature of how the franchises work.

That being said, if it was just personality, I always maintain if Traynor had been in the games since ME1 and gotten the same long form treatment, she'd be my favorite LI by far. And she's still close. I just adore her, crappy treatment and small amount of content, notwithstanding. (Same with Samara, actually).

So shrug, can't say. I love Garrus, Traynor, Alistair, Isabela, Blackwall, Dorian, and Sera a lot, and im glad to have had so many LI that I enjoyed.

Like some others in this thread, I have a slight preference for Kaidan because his character and the relationship with a male Shepard develop over three games, and I feel there's a bit more tension and push-and-pull between him and Shepard that makes the eventual romance more satisfying (in the same vein, I think Shepard has more time to develop as a character than the Inquisitor). Personality-wise I think Dorian has more flair and charm, and if there are sequels or more DLC I'd love to see his character explored a bit further.

 

Now if I had to choose between Kaidan's and Dorian's voices? Well, that one's too tough
