I suck at picking favorites, but:
ME: Ash/Thane
DA: Morrigan/Leli

Dragon Age LI's wins for me because characters I actually want to romance in ME games are unavailable and the ones I tried didn't affect me as much as Dragon Age romances do.
I don't think I could choose.
DAO: Alistair, Zevran
DA2: Anders, Isabela, Fenris
DAI, Blackwall, Dorian, Cullen
ME: Kaidan, Thane, Garrus
It's sort of unfair, because I had a long time to get to know the ME characters, through all the games. But then, I feel like the DAO romances had sooo much content, that I really got to know Alistair & Zevran the best as in a romance. And I do like the king/grey warden Alistair has become, so if it would be grown-up Alistair.... still, Anders. And Blackwall. And Dorian. Nope. Can't choose.
I love these threads because it's a reminder that whenever someone uses the words "obviously", "clearly", "objectively", etc. in regard to romance content, they are most likely wrong. The posts in three pages are all over the place. One general trend, however, is that very few people have mixed gender answers. Most people are comparing males/females in one game to the same gender in the other, despite many people saying that they play both male and female PCs.
I cannot comment on ME because I never finished any of them (I just don't like my combat with guns). But I will say as a woman I really like playing as a guy and romancing Dorian in DA:I. Maybe its because his personality in the game is a good fit my personality in the real live world. Seeing him happy in the game just makes me happy.
If I play as a woman, I really liked romancing Cullen in this last game. It might be stereotypical but he really is a knight in shining armor type. And once I got past Fenris being so damn crabby in DA2, he was a nice change of pace to romance. Man getting on his good side was hard. LOL.
Best romance for Dragon Age: Leliana, Solace and Cullen.
Best romance in Mass Effect: Miranda.
My two favorite LIs are Garrus and Solas.
As far as having to pick between them...its kind of a hard call, since they are two very different characters. My Shepard and Lavellan are very different people. I might side closer to Garrus, because I am still mystified that it was as wonderful a romance as it was. Losing Garrus would break my Shepard. My Lavellan isn't quite as tied to Solas as Shepard was to Garrus.
But if I was picking between which character I liked better...probably Solas. I think he's a little bit better written than Garrus, who occasionally conforms a bit too much to Shepard.
Still love both of them.

Easily the DA LIs for me. For one thing, DA has so many wonderful ladies to choose from: Josephine, Sera, Isabela, Merrill, Leliana. Whereas ME just has Liara. And if you hold out until ME3, some awkward shizz with Samantha.
I like the male LIs more than the ME ones too (Zevran, Fenris, Solas). I mean, Garrus is great, and Kaidan's pretty nice. But none of them really get me in the feels like the DA ones do.
I think it helps that DA doesn't have the romance build up to the pre-final battle sex. In DA it usually happens halfway through the game, then you get to continue the romance afterwards for the real finale (which, in my favourite romances, is when protag + LI decide they're really a couple).
DA: Sera
ME: Liara
Sera's romance with a Dalish mage was one of the most emotionally fulfilling ones I've ever played through in any Bioware game, but since I decided to make "which one would you be able to romance in real life" be the deciding factor it's totally Liara.
Mass Effect: Garrus
Dragon Age: Solas
As an LI, hands-down Garrus. He's awesome turian Batman who fills my fancy apartment with lethal traps. Oh, and he doesn't DUMP ME. Take some notes, Solas ![]()
DA: Solas
ME: Thane
What can I say? I enjoy me some angsty, tragic romances. Sigh. Thane wins. Thane will always win.
Forcing me to choose between Garrus and Cassandra? Never! ![]()
DA: Anders (he seems to love your Hawke no matter if you romance him or not)
ME: Kaidan (from friends to lovers, and his romance scenes are the best)
Kaidan wins though always.
Solas and Garrus.
Solas wins, due to being more more involved in the main plot.
(actually the only 2 LI's I like...)
I'd like to try Solas, but I haven't yet managed to force myself to play an elf (eeewww).
I know what you mean. It took a lot of perseverance and a great elf face to overlook their emaciated, "victim" nature enough to play one to do that romance. It's a quality-over-quantity romance though. You'll almost forget there is anything between you two since the content is so lacking.
In ME universe it will be Thane for sure. With DA universe...I don't know, I liked Zevran ( as elven HoF) and Rory ( ser Gilmore mod for my Cusland). DA 2..well I played only once without any LI. DA:I I tried Cullen, but I think, that if I would play DA:I again I will choose Solas...Still Thane is the best LI for me from all BioWare games.( Kaidan is next)
I love Kaidan romance in ME, did almost all others, male and female, but none were more to my liking.
I think Alistair and Fenris are my favs from DA. But I haven't gone through all DAI romances yet. I have a feeling I will really like Cassandra romance.))
If I had to choose between the three... it would be close, but I guess, Alistair would be the winner.
Dragon Age: Merrill
Mass Effect: Either Jack or Tali
My favorite would be Merrill. There was just something about her mix of friendly, naive nature, and partial insanity that i just found great.
DA: Leliana
ME: Liara
Hm...Liara, I guess (albeit by a very slim margin) - mostly because her romance spans through all 3 games in the trilogy while Leliana has only one game.
One general trend, however, is that very few people have mixed gender answers. Most people are comparing males/females in one game to the same gender in the other, despite many people saying that they play both male and female PCs.
ME: Kaidan
DA: Cullen
I'd choose Kaidan for purely superficial reasons - I find brunet guys more attractive
J/K I have enjoyed playing as Shepard so much more than as either the Warden, Hawke, or the Inquisitor. Jennifer Hale's voice acting is definitely a major contributor to that experience. And that's why I'd choose Kaidan over Cullen ![]()

I don't think I could choose between them
