Cassandra: faithful, friendly, supportive.

Both: The most adorable objects possible within the known universe

Honestly? I don't think I could ever make a real decision, but I think that I personally would get on better with Liara (I like science, history, caring for everyone. Not that Cassandra doesn't, but it's not so much of an essential element of her character.)

Liara is one of my all-time favorite characters, so I think it would have to be her.

 

But my DA choices are meaningful for different reasons. Alistair, Anders, and Solas.  Solas is the first character to affect me so deeply since Liara, FWIW.

Who wins? Merrill. She may have terrible judgment but she's absolutely adorable. I also think she's one of the prettiest characters Bioware has ever designed.

I love these threads because it's a reminder that whenever someone uses the words "obviously", "clearly", "objectively", etc. in regard to romance content, they are most likely wrong.  The posts in three pages are all over the place.  One general trend, however, is that very few people have mixed gender answers.  Most people are comparing males/females in one game to the same gender in the other, despite many people saying that they play both male and female PCs. 

 

In fairness, that does not necessarily mean that people are only playing one gender, since a few of the more popular LIs (Liliana, Liara, Isabella, Merrill, ext.) are romance options for either gender.  I'm also guessing that "favorite" is going to come from a canon playthrough.  It certainly does for me, which is why all of my pics for favorite were F/F.

 

I agree with you 100% on "obviously, clearly, objectively."  Every time I see another "Josephine, Sera, or Cassandra are so ugly" thread, I roll my eyes.  I think they look great.

Liara is my only ME romance, so she wins that category.

DA contenders are Leliana, Isabela and Josephine. No contest - Leliana.

But no, she does. I think she and my FemShep are my favourite romance ever in any game I've played. The development across all three games was perfect IMO. I've heard people scream that there was no "proper romance" between them in ME2. All I say to that is "whut??" The angst in LotSB was delicious. Thanks to Hale and Hillis' stellar acting it came off beautifully. I loved how pissed Shep was at being brushed off, and I totally get why Liara was so standoffish. The scene at the end of that DLC was delightful. And their continuing where they left off in ME3 was fantastic.

By contrast, I only take had one game with Leliana "on screen" as an LI. DA2 had a touching mention in a DLC (as well as a comic moment if Isabela is present, even more so if Merrill is as well). The mentions in Inquisition of their romance were a nice touch and suited my head canon down to the ground, even if the "Contact HoF" mission was an anticlimax. But I had three games to actually watch Shep and Liara's love blossom, so Liara takes the crown I'm afraid.

It is kind of a tough choice, but Liara over all. She has an romance arc that spans three games and is the most developed of the bunch.

Mass Effect Liara or Tali it's pretty close between the 2 really as I find both romances nice. If I absolutely had to pick one it probably would be Liara.

I just like the idea of two seperate people from different species or culture being in love. Whether it be Qunari with human or Human with Quarian, I tend to choose the cross-specie/culture if available.

ME: None. The misión was too important to be distracted by romances.

Honestly, the only romance I really enjoyed was Steve's in Mass Effect. Jack and Tali were nice, while Garrus was... hilarious. But all in all they didn't really give me uh. Feels? In Dragon Age I found almost everyone likable, so at least in my opinion DA romances are way better than the ones in ME. I think I still have to say my favourite DA romance is Alistair, as tough as it is to choose.

I'd choose Kaidan over everyone else. He's bae. And my PC is a homie-hopper... Dang. Dat list.

Nothing from Dragon Age Inquisition beats Liara T'soni

None of the characters in DAI gets even close to the romance you had with Liara in Mass Effect.
This romance was so intense and well founded.
