I meant I have all Mass Effect games & DLCs for both PS3 & 360. So then a move from 360 main account to PS3 second account does then require an online pass/voucher (or at least used too?).

 

Also, I just remembered I bought the PS3 versions brand new when the Trilogy bundle was made available, so I must of had and used a voucher for the PS3 account then?

 

 

 

I also have a total of like 10 (with LE's included) Mass Effect games for both PS3 & 360. Plus a PC version of ME2 LE. So BioWare must really love my money. But I love these games too much not to own them all.

At the risk of sounding patronising, but in the interests of absolute clarity, if you want to play ME3 MP on Xbox Live you must have a Gold account.  If you want to play it on PS3 you must enter an online code in connection with your PSN a/c, which is determined by your login email address.  This code is available for free in the Playstation Store.  Initially, and for the first year of the game's life, this code cost something like £5.99, but was given free with new copies of the game.  The only limit to how many free alt accounts can be used on PS3 is determined by how many different email addresses you have.

 

There is no link whatsoever between accounts across different platforms.

 

If you use the same email address for accounts across different platforms, but choose different IDs, your N7 HQ will be formally linked to whichever platform you registered first.

I play on WiiU, Xbox 360, and PC. Recently not so much on WiiU, although I have to go back soon...I still want to cover-grab a Pyro.

The default one linked via clicking under your profile pic does appear to be whichever account was registered first, but they're all actually registered there. I can check my "Jeremiah12LGeek" account as either Xbox or PS3, I just have to specify the platform when I do the search.

I can see both profiles no problem, but I was under the impression I could only have one EA / Origin account for a particular email address - I certainly only seem to have one that I can actually log in to.  Can you choose an alternative banner on both platforms? I can't, unless I'm missing something obvious, which is entirely possible.

You can only have one on each platform under a common e-mail address. For my second PS 3 account, I had to use a different e-mail address, and that one won't show up under my profile or if you search my ID, but a second account on the same platform has to have a unique User ID, anyway.

If you type "Jeremiah12LGeek" into N7HQ, and I have an account registered under that name to the same e-mail address on Origin, PS3, and Xbox 360, you will find all three N7HQ pages under that ID, depending on the platform you select for the search, and all three are registered to the same account here on BSN.

 

(For the record, I don't actually have a Mass Effect account under my Origin ID, so you wouldn't find that one in N7HQ, but I know that it is possible to register Mass Effect under my Origin ID, as I asked BioWare about it and had that confirmed.)

I think this part is the key to my own problem - 'tiwyg23' was randomly inspired by the Radiohead song I was listening to when I registered on PSN, not really paying attention to the reality that it would dog me for the rest of my online existence there (and as things stand I would still have to keep it if I bought a PS4, in order to keep my existing PS+ games on PS3, which frankly beggars belief and has so far done Sony out of a sale.) 

 

I had no desire to use that name again when I created my xbox a/c, so the issue is that while I have the same email address for both platforms my IDs are different.  As such, I can't formally log in to my xbox a/c on the N7HQ.  Something of a first world problem, I admit.

You were also right about selecting banners (I forgot about that until recently.)

 

I can select separate banners for my accounts only from inside the game, itself, while logged in on the respective system. If I go into N7HQ and try and set different banners, it will not work. Either they will both switch to the most recent set banner, regardless of which platform it was, or the other platfrom will default back to no banner, or the previous banner that I used.

 

It used to annoy me that it worked that way, but as you say... it's kind of a first world problem.

Ah, you weren't the pug in my game last night with Nup then.  We had a low N7 level (like, 30 or something) Human Engineer with a Valkyrie I.

 

Who did pretty well, considering.  50 kills, used the suicide drone to great effect, made fire explosions everywhere, 50 assists...I wish more of my low N7 level pugs were as useful.

It's kinda fun seeing people that I've played with, doing the cyberspace equivalent of going pale and selecting "Je dois y aller"

 

Also, I just got kicked out of a Gold lobby by the 3 pugs who were there when I joined. They had a total N7 of about 300 and total CP<1k. The Shuriken must have made them afraid I'd outscore them

70 hours in on my alt,and I pretty much stopped using it.After starting fresh again,I realized the value of a maxed manifest.I mainly have it for trolling,so it gets used from time to time

I think it's healthy to be reminded that although some of the capability one has in game is acquired skill, a significant fraction is just down to having harder hitting weapons and better equipment to put on.

 

Last night I played my main PC account, took GE with Cyclonic IV, Incendiary IV, AR amp III on GPR X with HVB V, generally derped my way through a pug and scored third on the board with like 110k.

 

Switched to alt account, took SE with Power Amp II, AP II, and Shield Booster II, using Phaeston III with Xmg and Stability mod (only AR mods I have) and AR amp II. Went pugging, got some OK pugs. Took a lot longer to kill stuff and needed to spend more time in cover, scored like 50k, and put in much more effort doing so.

 

I know the grind can get boring, having gone right through it already, but at the present I'm enjoying the challenge of trying to contribute with very little in the way of good equipment, because it does test what little skills I do have to the absolute max.

Pff, I rarely even look at the other players outfits anymore. Most of the people with unmaxed stuff do surprisingly good. They can't ALL be alts, can they?
