I'm going to re-hash the old argument that the loot drops from the RNG system are crap, beyond anything I could put words to.

I'm done with constantly doing the same ol' run throughs to grind for gold to buy those said chests & for what? To consistently get crap not relevant to my toons or not even close to the level I need to be competitive in multiplayer.

I'm sick of levelling toons, over & over & over & over & over & over............................& over

Yes I'm bitching. Yes I'm complaining. Yes this topic has been ground to dust. But **** me, how long do you have to keep grinding just to get something useful? Anything at all useful. Over 12 weeks of gameplay & nada, zip. My toons are still running around with shitty blues.

Don't get me wrong, had my fair share of epic drops (mostly runes) but what the **** do I do with a dagger(lvl 14 purple, epic) that does 111damage (as one example). My blue does 235. But because of low level items to step into perilous mode is basically suicide, I'd survive longer getting a job down the beach sucking the farts out of dead seagulls.

So there we have it, my rant. No more MP for me. Going for one more play through of the storyline & then it's time to find another game to play.

P.S. Bioware had to be really kidding themselves to think I would spend real money on a random loot chest. No way. Only a total ****** idiot would waste money in that fashion. Scary thing is, they're out there.

My first few days gave me *some* items, which more or less made at least one toon "Perilous ready". If anything, play Keeper and Barrier only, as support to heavily promoted toons 90% best in slot equipped - will benefit everybody.

Then it is play - get gold - pull chests - hope.

I played threatening a loooong time with top armor not upgraded and crap lvl 15 blues. It worked just fine. I bet it would have worked into Perilous also to some extent.

But it's so fun getting complete and utter crap that you can salvage and do absolutely nothing with, or seeing the edge of purple only to find it's lvl 9 or a rune..

(sarcasm off)

Yup it's a crap set up..

I think it's interesting that at this years GDC, Josh Mosqueira basically said that what blizzard got wrong with loot in Diablo 3 on launch was that it was "farming pottery" and the RNG loot system was trolling players; "“When [you] were getting loot, getting bags full of yellows and legendaries, you would know as you clicked on every single one, that you weren’t going to get an upgrade."

Sadly, this perfectly describes the entirety of the DAMP loot system.

It`s always the OTHER game that is wrong... even if it`s a perfect copy of your own.

Your own is, of course, balanced to provide a fun yet challenging experience.

After two weeks of nothing but salvage, I got Punched by the Maker, Pyre of the Forgotten, and Fury of the Veil in the same day.  Now I'm back to getting garbage.  I just wish they would add some higher level armor and weapon schematics to use up all the crafting ingredients.

I could build a company of iron golems from all the salvage materials I've accumulated. I curse the true name of RNGeezuz every time I open another god damned chest.

The best thing is when you open up a large chest and it's a shiny purple right in the middle of the stack of useless potions, and common armors, only to find out it's the serpents rage with unique 200% weapon dmg in return. I mean, bioware, really. Troll us harder, please.

Just bought 23 large chests--had to clear out inventory after 17 before I could buy more.  No rare items over level 6--all salvage.  Only 2 unique items and they were runes that I already had 3 of each--also salvage.  No common items worth keeping either. Getting easier to see why so many people pass by the treasure rooms and often don't even bother to pick up the free gold in the vases.

the RNG problem is that there is a period early on where darn near anything might help in the short term term.

Then you hit a scond phase where it felt like I wasn't getting better items but at least salvaging for better armor- no matter how little value that has it felt like an accomplishment.

I've now crossed the third phase where I've gotten high end purple: shields, amulets, rings, bows, daggers. I've got top end runes in everything.

Yeah I still need Caliban and a Belt but now it doesn't feel like there is really much more to get. The items make such a difference that I can't see how they could add even more powerful items because it would make the game a joke so at is point the MP is built to be a grind but once you have ground out all the best stuff...then what? I'm still playing because it is fun but I will admit part of the fun is chasing the carrot.

Perfect opportunity for bioware to give us DLC and work this in.....not holding my breath though.

I have almost 1million gold saved up 945233 (& rising) to be precise & I feel no need to spend it has all I will get is S*it.

Once you have made all the armour for each character and you have most if not all weapons & items what is the point?.....

Bioware are you listening?...DLC please to give us reason to carry on looting your shabby chest drops & to spend our gold.

Rng is why all but 2 of my friends quit, and why I don't play anymore. I played on Ps4 after getting it for 2 months and didn't get any purples over lvl 11 or runes. So I was stuck doing routine, and barely getting thru threatening w/ a good party.

SO after a second round after leaving Ps3, and giving RNG a chance to load me up, then getting f*cked hard on my gear I quit.

So I feel your pain. I will eventually come back if they fix it...if not, I won't be back and I wont even complete SP either.

Ciao!

Maybe i am the odd one out, but I have no problem with the RNG system at all. I understand I'm not supposed to get a purple with every chest I open, the same goes for everyone else. I open maybe 20 chests a week or more and get atleast a couple of purples. Just recently I got caliban, sieges end, and tenasarin. Unfortunately for me i only really play mages so these are useless, but I understand that RNG is RNG for a reason. From the chests ive been opening, if you actually open multiple chests a day you should be getting some decent loot. Sure we all get a chest full of whites from time to time, but that's ok

Or it's a level 8 unique and you're using a level 14 common weapon that's better.

And then you find it again the next day.

I understand your frustration. I have yet to see a purple weapon and have only received low level blues.

You don't always need Purple weapons to successfully do Perilous with a good team though. I recently did my first Perilous game with my level 7 Keeper. The host changed the difficulty without me realizing. I thought I was doomed since I was low level and using a common staff. The group was really good though. I only went down once and scored second. It wouldn't have been a success without an awesome Katari who took most of the aggro and tanked all the things.

Finding a good group can be a real challenge though. :?

You see, after spending over 2.2million gold on chests I have yet to see a Caliban and Superb Cooldown Amulet.  You do get decent stuff every now and then but you reach the point where all that decent stuff just becomes trash to salvage.  I've spent close to 1300 hours on this game (50/50 SP/MP), I would expect that by now I'd have that fricken sword and amulet.  But I don't.  And that's where all the rage comes from.  Having said that, I still enjoy the game with friends.  I would like to see those items in my inventory before I move on to something else.  Witcher 3 is coming.

What took you so long? I stopped playing the multiplayer months ago. They really screwed up with it. Nearly 6 months later and they have not expanded much on the base multiplayer game. Same 3 maps same 12 characters rinse and repeat let's copy Mass Effect 3 half assed bullshit. The thing that made Mass Effect multiplayer great was the variety it offered. 4 different enemy types, a slew of guns that all felt different and a ton of characters that played different plus a ton of attachments which all changed game play and I still play ME 3 multiplayer to this day 3 years later because they did a good job with it. Dragon age could have been great for multiplayer but they done fucked it up!

The Dragonslayer MP Expansion was announced this morning.  We also adjusted loot drops last night, so you should be seeing drops more appropriate to your level/time spent in MP.

Hello Billy, thank you for the info.  I do have a question though when you say "more appropriate to your level" are you referring to prestige or character level?  My guess would be prestige simply because it makes more sense?  I really look forward to the loot changes and the new content.  Maybe those elusive items will show up after all.
