I just found this image online, but i remember seeing it in game,i didn't play for long, did an update remove it?

I honestly don't bother with the reviving thing - it's very inconvenient and makes battle that much harder and that much less casual. If someone happens to die right next to my character, then I might attempt it.
But I'm talking about after combat and no one has died, but everyone already sucked down a bunch of potions during combat. Afterwards we're all on extremely low health and now I have to stop everything I'm doing and warp back to a camp to restock. It's tedious and not very fun.
But that is the point of multiplayer... forcing you to buy via $micro-transtions more healing pots. Much of the code is shared between MP and SP. Allowing it for SP will allow it for MP... a very big NONO as it will remove a potential revenue stream.
Mind you, the idea does have merit. I just don't see it coming any time in 2015, though. I mean, look at all the suggestions made since game launch and with patch 5, what has Bio delivered? Oh, yes... ... fixing exploits.

Ah. So the hidden agenda has been exposed. I don't touch MP so I never knew this. And charging people for more healing potions - wow. I wonder who is stupid enough to pay for that crap.

I honestly have no memory of there being an auto heal option in my behavior menu.
It heals "automatically" as long as you got potions remaining.

It just eats up a potion. Makes sense.
Yup. Exactly. I'd really like it to be an option since casual play is an option. There's nothing very casual about restocking potions every five minutes. :/
Regardless of everyone's tips and tricks - I want auto heal back. I've beaten the game three times. It's not like I need advice on how to play. I just want auto heal back.
Your first statement contradicts your second. There's no way you should be playing on casual and needing to restock potions every five minutes.

Soon after the game was launch, a post was made from a player that boasted he paid $400 for upgrades in MP. True or not, the MP is designed as an additional revenue stream for EA. Bio's priority if fixing exploits re-inforces this design/revenue concept.

Perhaps he used an exaggeration for effect?

I was exaggerating. Deal with it. ![]()

If that is true, then I am working in the wrong business.

Even if you're exaggerating. Do you use barrier and guard, have you set those skills to preferred? Have you lowered your companions stamina/man thresholds [the 50% default basically hamstrings them]. If you do just that and aren't under-leveled or under-equipped for the area you should be face rolling on casual.

AIght, I gotta set this misconception straight before it spreads like wildfire. READ the discription VERY carefully on that so-called "reserve" system.
Ever wondered why the AI just won't use that one skill you really want them to no matter what? That's likely the problem if it's late game and you let them use loads of skills. The reserve should be set AT or ABOVE the most expensive skill you want them using. For instance, when set at 50% they will wait to use ANY skills untel mana/stamina gets to 51% and then they WILL use ANY skill that costs UP to the reserve amount. This system shouild NOT be called A RESERVE. It's extreeeeeemly missleading obviously. It allows the player a way to tweak the AI even further and also indirectly helps the skill priority limitations... somewhat.
If someone doesn't understand what this reserve does just set it at 80% on everyone(if you set it at 100% they may not use ANYTHING- I haven't tested this). There's a small issue with this though. There is a passive regen bonus that won't be used as affectively as it could be when it's set at anything above 49%. I think it's a warrior passive. Can't remember off the top of my head what it's called.
FIgured I should shed some light on this because tons of players don't seem to be understanding it(not just you guys). Read the "discription at the bottom" VERY carefully and you'll see what I'm "trying" to say. And you can thank BW for missleading you here
Honestly I doubt they even realised they did it because reserve "sorta" makes sense but not really. I'm not sure what you should call it honestly. My vocab isn't that good.

I have no clue what you're saying, and I re-read the description. It fits with what it is supposed to be. The NPCs use their high cost skills just fine when I set their reserve down to 20%, and use their skills in general a lot less when I set it at 50%.
Yup. Exactly. I'd really like it to be an option since casual play is an option. There's nothing very casual about restocking potions every five minutes. :/
Hmm wait a minute... How are you playing the game if you have to restock potions every five minutes? Not using a tank? Do you understand how you generate guard during combat? Not using the Barrier spell?
I am played through the game on normal and had to refill potions maybe 10-15 times (during 163 hours of game play).
Yea awfull wordy and I'm not good at explaining things in a clear concise manner. Sorry bout that.
You won't run into problems setting it to 0% unless you have them using too many high cost skills along with low cost skills. Most of the issues I'm sure are being sorted out in the base AI with each patch so it's likely not a big deal anymore that you even need to understand it at all. Setting it at 0% may work just fine now. Don't worry about it if you don't see a problem then it's probably fine at 0 for your needs.
And they may have improved AI to the point where they'll use a more ballanced appraoch with skills regardless of mana/stamina levels so it may no longer matter at all. I think patch 3 was when I noticed the issues and had to use the reserve to work around it.
Really I wouldn't worry about it if it's working ok for you.
It is right in the discription though if it's still bugging you. The true meening really is there at least it still is in patch 4
May need to forget you ever saw the word "reserve" though to see it.
EDIT: Eventualy I'll think of a good way to explain it and I'll def come back and let you know because it is much more flexible than we would initialy expect. Yes I believed the same thing you do at first and likely most everyone from seeing the title first. Untel I think of something here's what mine shows in-game. Forget the title of it and take it at face value, nothing more or nothing less.
"If mana/stamina falls below this threshold, party member will stop using ablilities that require it"
I swear once it hits you it's gonna be like omg... derp. Anyways I'll try to think of a better explination in the meantime.
Grinding makes me want to throw up.
You can always purchase a ton of them at the Crossroads in the Hinterlands. It's what I do.

I guess I'm dense this morning.. only 1 cup of coffee.
The 1st thing I did playing this game was to find a way to avoid losing health = using up healing/regen pots... which I did. Yes, I also appreciate auto healing, but my gameplay style minimizes pot usage and unnecessary visits to camps.
Having said this, I am for a slow health re-gen tweak.

In all honesty, I am Thedas' biggest spender. My inquisitor needs to open a line of credit to buy more stuff. haha

There are a lot of people who are very literal on teh intarnetz.
Lol.
Perhaps a 3rd cup of Moca may help me avoid double edged words...
I set the mana reserve to '0', and healing reserve to 'all' (which is also 'don't use any automatically' for some reason),
so I can say when my team gets to use potions,
and so they always use their skills.
I set all my mages speced pure support (barriers/rez and freezing trees), and then some points for their focus abilities.
Then disable any skills that are visually annoying, or cost too much,
so the mages use their mana for mostly barrier/ice and support stuff.
I end up with more potions that way, and my mages usually keep barrier on me or someone constantly,
though if they are really low health then I pause and make them use the regen pots,
but I keep the health pots for me, unless it's an emergency,
that way the pots last longer while exploring.
Also, the 'heal on kill', 'guard on hit', and 'walking fortress' crafting material effects are really good when you have it in larger values, which helps at making the pots last longer.
I really hate having to go back to a camp, while exploring, too, ruins the fun a bit to have to backtrack. Also, it seems like the game revolves around potions, a bit too much.
Although it's not too much of a bother after the teen levels, when you've got everyone in a good build, have the perks for pot upgrades and those other things.

I just want auto heal back. It can be optional. Though the MP potion/microtransaction thing has me wondering about hidden agendas....
