How much do these Voice actors get paid to voice the lines for the games? I'm starting to believe that Bioware is too cheap to hire Steve Blum back.

Bear in mind that voice actors are a big part of the game but they technically speak very little. IIRC, there's less than three hours of banter between all companions. There's probably less than ten minutes of triggered/ambient dialogue whilst adventuring, and then there's cutscenes. Some are more costly than others, and some voice actors double up- in Mass Effect, for example, Mark Meer is not only male Shep, but all the vorcha, hanar, and I think other various voices. Someone like Meer (man with a thousand voices) or is well established, like Jennifer Hale, will probably command more.

still doesn't make sense. How could Loghain "reach out" to Hawke? How could Loghain find Hawke but not Leliana and Cassandra with their army of spies? Seems to me that they met sometime way before the beach happened, but it's still weird as to how it could happen... Especially Loghain is like 61, Hawke maybe somewhere in their 30's, why Hawke hanging around with this old man...

Loghain tracks down Hawke (he has a history of being a tracker, thanks to the war for Ferelden freedom- he's not exactly a greenhorn) and this all seemed to go down before the Inquisition was anything to really speak of- Leliana mentions the Warden disappearance early on in Haven, before the Inquisitor sealed the breach. Remember that Warden mages were involved with kidnapping the Divine, so all that went down before the Inquisition (and thus the Inquisitor) existed.

I c cause i also noticed that Bioware excluded Fred Tatasciore too since the last time i saw his name was in DA2 as Wryme / Yevhen / Additional Voices. 2 of my favorite Voice Actors not brought back for DAI.

Eh I love Fred for being Baird in Gears, but homeboy is in high demand and might not come back anyways.

Steve Blum is really popular- I believe he does a lot of animated shows too. Fred's popular largely because he's really good at doing monster voices- if you've played Gears of War, he's not only Baird, but he's also the locust monsters. Steve Blum is known for being able to do super low voices, both things are in high demand. I suspect they follow the money trail, not that I can blame them.

They might if the role is right and the money is right.

Well Dragon Age is not the same without those 2.

Frankly Dragon Age just isn't the same without Oghren no matter what those blasted oghren haters say. I mean it's strange that Bioware never asked Steve Blum to come back to voice any characters in Dragon Age besides Oghren. Steve Blum's the reason i liked Dragon Age after Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War 2. Sometimes i blame the Oghren haters for that seeing how they "claim" that Oghren's writing in Awakening was bad which i don't believe was bad and David Gaider has said that he felt pressured to bring Oghren back in Awakening and wish he hadn't cause I don't really believe Gaider when he claims that was the only time he did that.

The Oghren thing is partially because of how many people play the game. The general way it goes is Origins -> Ostagar -> Lothering -> Redcliffe -> Circle -> Temple of Sacred Ashes -> Dalish -> Orzammar. I did things completely out of order, so I got my fill of the ruddy bastard fast, I even took him to the Fade with me once, but a lot of people don't get to spend a lot of time with him, because after Orzammar, it's time to go to Denerim and start the Landsmeet shenanigans.

"By my Ancestors!!! Shave my back and call me an Elf!! Why do they put that sodding beardless Nug-Head Topsider on Inquisition and forget about me? Sodding fools from Bioware!"

Oghren about Varric being on Inquisition...

Enough about Oghren and Varric, we need Sigrun back. :'( please Bioware, add another female dwarf companion in the next game. Hopefully, LI for both genders...

LI or no, I'd love to see Sigrun again. Among all the dwarven companions we've had, she had the most fun personality to me.

where could Hawke have met Loghain?

Nowhere, because he was executed. I was talking about my world state.

I want to see Sigrun too but the DA Keep doesn't even have a section for Awakening companions, so there is no way to indicate whether or not they became wardens and if they survived the end of Awakening.

I forgot all about Sigrun's absence from the Keep. So much for that I guess. I'd like to get another dwarf out of Orzammar or some place underground (perhaps with a companion quest that takes us there).

I wonder why Bioware excluded the Keep's choices for Sigrun and Velanna? I know Anders isn't in the Keep cause they said that despite the various potential outcomes of Awakening, Anders becomes a Grey Warden, meets Justice and survives.

Probably they will not be featured in the next games. Unfortunately, IMHO.

Bioware is being weird about Awakening companions. There is no way to choose the companion choices in DA Keep for Awakening. No way to indicate who became a warden and who survived the end  events of Awakening. I don't know what Bioware is doing. I guess they might feel like Anders and Justice are both already canonized, they might choose to never bring Oghren back  because he's already had two games, so that leaves Sigrun, Velanna and they've already included Nathaniel as a warden in DA2. It will be interesting to see if and when Bioware ever returns to the characters from Awakening and how they choose to use them. Maybe canon is just that every companion in Awakenings was made a warden and survived. I don't know, but it is weird that BIoware so deliberately omitted those choices and companions from DA Keep. Hopefully they will not be omitted from the future of the DA Series.

I miss Velanna and Sigrun :(

Carver could have brought him round for dinner? Or after she got Carver out of the danger zone, she might have decided (for his benefit) to go looking for another level-headed Warden who wasn't caught up in the craziness, thus explaining why she took so long to arrive at the Inquisition. If those other wardens we meet in Crestwood were hot on Warden Ally's trail, of course Hawke would have gotten there first.

Not hard to come up with a pretty logical chain of events.

I think we're supposed to handwave that in place of Stroud in Kirkwall Hawke actually met Loghain or Alistair.

They could have made the choice even worse by making you choose between YOUR Warden from DAO and Hawke.

I too did not bat an eye and chose Hawke over Stroud but I agree with the Op, why not choose someone we actually could care about rather than a nobody?

I always thought that since the Awakening Warden is on a task to find a cure for the calling...wouldn't it be odd if he/she could potentially die in the Fade? If then, who's gonna find the darn cure? As Warden Commander of the Grey in Ferelden, you have the most power and credibility to find a possible cure (or at least a temp cure) for every Wardens in Thedas.

It'd be impossible for the HoF to be the Grey Warden ally in DAI. The entire quest would have to be completely rewritten. For one, why would the Hero of Ferelden/Warden-Commander be hunted down by warden grunts from Orlais? How could Clarel issue an order against a fellow WC? Why would the HoF be hiding out in a cave???? And why would they be all by themselves. Where are their lieutenants like Nathaniel and Velanna. You can't just insert the HoF into the place of the Warden ally and leave everything else the same, it wouldn't work. I even had a hard time understanding how Alistair could be there. Like, why is he in Orlais? Apparently he got exiled there by Anora, but then I wonder if he was romanced, how do they see each other? Does HoF live in Orlais with Al now?

Oghren's a deep character. People get stuck on the whole 'drunken redneck dwarf' thing to see anything else. Dude has had a really crappy life and deals with it by drinking. I know I'd probably be an alcoholic if I were in his shoes.

It's the redneck part. It's one thing if he were just a dark character who was dreary all the time. But he's a disgusting pig. That's something some of us just find inherently unlikeable.

And you think Sera the elf is any different since she does the same thing and i see no difference on either of them.
