Totally agree with this

If you're going to have the player wear something compulsory at least make it look good. I get the impression they went for the bland look because they didn't want going for an obvious style to conflict with player tastes. In doing so they've just made the player run around in something thats... Bland - Which makes me think, why bother at all? Just leave us in our armor. Something I had a say in putting together and like the look of!

My theory is the color is due to the dirt effect.  The beige of the clothes matches the color of the dirt as it appears on clothing and armor perfectly.  They probably figured that, rather than risk the dirt showing, just make the whole outfit that color.   There are still folks that think the dirt is a bug, thanks to the lack of explanation from the dev team.    <_<

I noticed the dirt effect after I modded the Skyhold clothes to black.   You can see it on your armor too while in the field, but it's the most noticeable at Skyhold.  As I ran around outside the keep, I started to chuckle.  The color of the dirt creeping up on my character's legs was the exact same shade of beige as the unmodded outfit was.

So yes, it's true.  The Skyhold outfit currently is the exact same color as dirt.

At the very least, allow us to wear our court attire when in Skyhold. I made my own from the schematic you get, but sadly I have no place where I can wear it since it's inferior to any armor you can make. The default outfit we are forced to wear now seems like something that would only be worn for leisure in the bedroom. Perhaps while Cassandra is making you some tea and sitting down with you on the balcony to read Varric's latest work.

But for presiding over court, and day-to-day business around Skyhold, court attire would be more appropriate imo. (Though I wouldn't complain about being able to wear our own armor in Skyhold, since technically the court attire falls under the armor category.)

Actually, at this point I need to beg Bioware to let Leliana, Cullen and Josie change their clothes. At least the others are able to change their clothes...

I wonder why Bioware is so hesitant about this. This must be the one point of criticism about which pretty much everyone agrees. It's incomprehensible that we're stuck with what's clearly a testing outfit.

Shh, don't let them know we are on to DAI still being in Beta stage...

If they get ride of the PJ...doesnt that mean it will change for all Platform ?? So those who modded their PJ to a darker one on PC lose it ? And Those who actually like the PJ lose it too no ?

I have a novel idea.  Why not give the player a choice of either the current Skyhold Outfit (aka beige pajamas) but update the outfit to include 4 or 5 additional colors (for example:  black, white, red, blue and maybe a gold / yellow color) or the ability to wear actual armor.  That would be a win for those who like the look of the current outfit and a win for those who don't like the current Skyhold outfit.  So a win-win.  Personally, I fall into the latter category but understand that other people might prefer the current Skyhold outfit...

It's pretty boring creating different Inquisitors only to have them looking the same at Skyhold. I hoped the patch with the color tints would address this. C'mon, how hard can make this a thing be, if we could wear our armor in Haven?

:(

I don't think they fit for the other races (rather, those races were brought in late.. this is just another sign), but the clothes are fit for humans and/or nobles. They're not pajamas. Kind of similar to Tywin lannister's coat here.

I had no idea about the dirt thing, is this across all platforms?

I have it on XB1.

They could maybe add an armor stand in the quizzy's quarters for an armor/PJs toggle? And maybe add an option for coloring the PJs there too. Then we would finally have a use for that room.

Aaahhhhhh....... I can play again without a headdesk every time I enter a cutscene at Skyhold.

Forget the Maker, the Cheat Engine modders are the true gods of DAI

Well, the PC crowd kinda lost out on everything else, so at least they can mod themselves some fun fashion.

It is terribly important to be devastatingly attractive when sitting in judgement.

(I'm so glad there's a thread for this! I agree wholeheartedly! Less of the unappealing mushroom PJs, more of the pretty fancy armour.)

I'm one of the ones who don't have a problem with the casual outfit, BUT damn - the mods that some people have come out with are just awesome.  Makes me wish I played on the PC, kinda sorta not really but still kinda.  I wouldn't want to wear my armor in Skyhold, personally, but to each their own.

Take off your armor when you're outside skyhold:

It's the underwear.

We're actually wearing our underwear while walking around and judging people on the throne, O_o.

It's a bit silly to judge people in undies...

But yeah, they should make a armor toggle button or something like cheat engine has,

I mean it can't be that hard for the official devs to do, right?

Underwear, haha

BioWare, please let us wear our armour in Skyhold. The body models for some of the characters look atrocious in those pajamas. And the pajamas in of themselves are atrocious/hideous.

Let us wear the armour that takes up nearly half our gameplay to craft.

edit: PC players, this doesn't concern you... I mean... unless you need a link to the nearest mod. ;)

I don't think they're PJ's, but I do agree we should be able to have different outfits.

The best mod for the Skyhold outfit.

I am mostly ok with it since it is the same for everyone.

At the very least we should be able to tint the pjs like we can our armour now.

I really don't understand why they didn't add a feature to offer more Skyhold outfits, I mean Mass Effect 3 had this right?

I associate them as PJ's because I woke up in Haven wearing them. Then the elf girl dropped the box and ran away all, "AT ONCE!" and scared of Cassandra's wrath. Then I put on my 10 dollar dragon armour.  :D

In fact, each time I leave SkyHold to enter a map, I must equip my armor. I begin with the PJ and my weapons/shield. Biofans will probably say it is not a bug, it's an immersive way to enter the game : you run almost naked on the battlefield and once you are in range of enemy arrows, you put your armor on!

I can't picture that scene without noticing that my character's hand is also oddly hovering above her body while asleep on my dwarf and elven characters.   :P

It's better than beige.  Not to my taste, but at least it has color.

For me it's the model that does the damage. It looks like pajamas even if I use Imperial Vestment Cotton or Royale Sea Silk.
