If they put in an Asari, we all know it will be Liara...

aria sucks.
and i love those people whose biggest concern about upcoming games is whether a certain character is available as LI/in the game or not. who cares about the actual game ![]()
personally i hope there will be not a single character from the ME trilogy in the next ME.

Hundreds of hours and saves wasted. Fresh reboot or restart worth it? It doesn't feel right...

I don't really care if she'll be around or not. Personally, I never liked Aria very much. She is so boisterous and arrogant but actually - at least on screen - she never really gets anything done properly.
In ME2, she is just sitting around, mouthing off big time on how she is the big queen of Omega, while Shepard actually does stuff and uncovers more than one plan that could have severely hurt her, none of which she seemed to be aware of.
In ME3, she got ousted (by being pretty stupid in Invasion) and again is just sitting around, claiming to give you the power over the mercenary fleets when in fact, you have to do all the work yourself. Then, her plan to retake her station is one of the most stupid tactical maneuvers we have ever seen in the ME universe and even with Shepard's help, it's a minor miracle that she doesn't get everyone killed. Frankly, I didn't think she really deserved to get Omega back, I'd rather have given it to Nyreen.
The only time she seems to be at least a little competent is in Retribution but even there, she doesn't really accomplish anything, it's just one the few times when she doesn't blatantly screw anything up.
So IMO, Aria is all talk, no substance. This is not a criticism to the writers, who - I believe - wanted her that way. Just saying, I can't find anything particularly likable about the character.

Whether Aria should make an appearance really depends on the story and setting.
If the game is set in the immediate aftermath of the Shepard trilogy, and the main character passes through Omega at some point...I'd be disappointed if we didn't run into Aria.
But if the game is set beyond her natural lifespan or a in region of space where we wouldn't expect to cross paths with her, I wouldn't want her shoehorned in just for the sake of a cameo.

If Aria returns, which I would not mind if she did, then I would want Omega to return. You cannot have Aria with Omega... that and Omega is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the neo-noir gritty nightlife of Mass Effect.

Me too... Omega is one of my favorite places in Mass Effect. Everytime I see a night club it reminds me about Omega

Because according to people no more continuation... end of the line... time for new alternate universe Mass Effect in a galaxy far far away where no body from the previous games would ever return but their races are re-appearing seems like a reboot or restart.

Hopefully there's no familiar faces in the next game. It seems Bioware -along with the people that ask for specific characters to return- have absolutely no grasp on how vast the galaxy is. We ran into so many of the same people over the course of the Shepard Trilogy, it made it impossible to suspend disbelief. They did a fine job of making the galaxy seem like a ridiculously small place. Time to get away from that approach this time around....

Exploration is great, new biomes, new places, new species, new friends, gets boring fast without old faces. [Mass Effect's case unlike Final Fantasy where you are indeed forced to move forward]

Aria was boring enough in Omega. They had an entire DLC more or less dedicated to her, and they didn't come up with anything good.
I doubt they would do anything better by bringing her back.

What? Maybe for you, but for me the amount of fan service putting old faces in ME3 got boring really fast. I want the galaxy to feel bigger, and one way to ensure that is by not having some old faces return.
Besides, we don't know how long after me3 it will be NME, or if it's a sequel for that matter.

No it doesn't. I couldn't careless if we never see any of the old characters ever again. I can go back and revisit them in the Shepard trilogy anytime I want. All Bioware needs to do for the next game is introduce more interesting characters from the same Mass Effect species we've become accustomed to. Which should be easy considering some of the supporting cast were more interesting than most of the squadmates throughout the Shepard trilogy.

and now, after you had a lot of fun with the games and played them for hundred of hours, its nothing but "wasted" time because this storyline maybe will not be continued? ![]()
do you play a game to have fun with it or only for the next game??

Yes wasted. For Mass Effect atleast. I still have other games to play though. Looking for alternatives because I got so connected with the past 3 games it is hard to forget. Maybe I should stop at 3 forever... might jump to starcitizen and elite dangerous soon, I am also considering starcraft. Batman series is also awesome definitely getting that one.

That's like saying all those hours certain people spent on Morrowind were wasted just because Skyrim came out. The importation and continuity over the trilogy was great (mostly), but they can't keep pulling the same story along forever. It's not like, say, the Witcher which is exclusively Geralt's story.

Atleast morrowind and Skyrim and Oblivion is connected somehow and gets special mention in the books you find scattered throught the world. I bet the next Mass effect would not even have a codex about the reaper war

if you really see it this way, you should stop playing video games. because, you know, every story will have an end, and because of this playing games will always be a "waste of time" ![]()

That did not stop me with Final Fantasy which always ends and gets replaced by a new Final Fantasy with the same element but 100% restart of the plot! except for XIII... crap the horror.
Also there are many games out there that does not end... Counter-Strike... you die... you re-spawn. No story no cannon crap just shoot the hell anything that moves same with Red Orchestra and Insurgency. Love them.
Mass Effect on the other hand started out strong, Bioware's tradition of imports and story continuation is impressive. Yes I agree a story should end... but the way 3 ended... the mist had a better ending.

I liked Aria well enough. The Omega DLC as a whole didn't retain enough of what made the Omega location fun, that's nothing against Aria. If she's back to being crimeboss in peacetime in ME4, but more up and active then ME2 I'd be happy. Nyreen sucked on the other hand. Kept wondering if I'm suppose to to care about her because of some book or other like Kahlee.

While Aria was good in ME2, she definitely outstayed her welcome in the Omega DLC, so I'd say no to her reappearance.
