Moral of the story? Bioware needs to learn how to be MORE transparent OR have step by step instructions on EVERY new mechanic which can be turned off individualy or globaly for those that do understand it or have figured it out.
A game that was arguably built for casual players but doesn't explain itself for shyt? Yea good thinking there
Bioware have never bothered to explain their mechanics. DAO had no tutorial whatsoever on how to use the Tactics system, despite it being a key part of the game. People had to figure it out for themselves, or consult online guides, and a lot just muddled through without ever learning what a great system it was.

WOW that is soooooo weird. Thanks for the vid there. I honestly don't even remember ever seeing that on pc.
Does it show only the first time you play or something? Only reason I ask I've played through soo many times maybe that's why I don't remember it. Although I have a serious case of CRS anyways. Can't Remember Sh!t.
EDIT: Ok just saw the PC vid that I somehow missed
. Lotta posts to sort through
I'm honestly guessing it does show every time and I've just auto closed it sense the first playthrough. Thanks for those vids guys!

Very true but that system was COMPLETEY transparent if you think about it. I mean you HAD to read it to even use the tactics, over and over again you saw it all game.
Not saying they need to do THAT but the tactics settings completely spoke for themselves and quite loudly. And honestly I don't think tactics are the issue here ither.

Trying and failing, and trying something different til you get the hang of it. The best way to learn.

But that would not teach you any of the advanced Tactics settings like conditional sustain activation and deactivation, jump-to-tactic commands, shatter combos, etc. The Tactics system was much more complex and powerful than what the basic automated Tactics showed you. Of course, it didn't help that you needed mods to make it work fully, since it was buggy in the base game.Very true but that system was COMPLETEY transparent if you think about it. You certainly could learn it that way, and some of us undoubtedly persevered and did, but I wonder how many more just decided it was too hard and did without (or just stopped playing) because it was not well explained.

Well those things they DO need to explain better if they're gonna cater to casual play at ALL. Don't you think? I guess you could look at it as it's your choice how you play but why limit anyone's experience.
If for some reason you don't like reading 10 hours of content or tons of reading in a casual playthrough..well you're prolly gonna miss shortchange yourself in this game. Which just seems odd on a story heavy game with action oriented combat? Get the A.D.D's all wound up and then STOP................................................................................READ THIS. bahahahahahaha All I'm saying ![]()

I am posting this as a rant, and not for people's two bit opinion about what they think of me or if they think this is a troll topic or whatever. If others are not having problems good for them, I however am so people can keep thier two-bit option of/about me and their option about how they had/have no problems out of this topic.
Now on with the issues and problems I have with campaign:
1. The war table has no instructions. Says perform the scout the hinterlands operation, and then never goes over how the hell you're supposed to do it.
2. Two Haven quests, The right armor, & Requisition for weapons, both tell you talk to an NPC to do them, while not spawning the NPC'S you have to talk to in order to turn these two quests.
3. There is a craft and upgrade armor table, and an equip and upgrade potion table, but No craft potion table.
4. The equip potion table says to click an empty slot to put potion in it, but clicking an empty slot does nothing, and what happens when there are No empty slots, you wouldn't be able to put a different potion, due to there No longer being an empty slots to click as it says to do.
5. There is No way to assign ability/stat points that I know of. I am Level 3 and I have never seen any screen that allows point distribution that I have found. So I guess I have 3 stat points.
To OP: All these things do exist. But you really do need some more patience because freeking out about them at ONLY level three isn't gonna get the feedback you want for the most part. HAD I seen that you only got to level 3 I wouln't have been soo willing to jump on the chance to use this thread for what I said. Good Lord.
1. I'll give you this one because this one is very different than anything anyone else has done. I meen why do some war map operations show up as having your agents help you and others show differently. Yea it CAN be a bit confusing at first.
Answer: Just click on the "card" on the right hand side and it will open that section of the war table. Now you should see a few new things to click on. Hover over them untell you see "Hinterlands". Now click bottom left on the "center" card that looks like an assassine. This will scout the area and all it does is "OPEN" that area up to allow you to travel to it in person with your party or not... whatever. Many of the operations are just there for "flavor" and something for your agents to do while you're gone. Other's will give tangible rewards so there is "some" reason to try each one at least ONE time.
2. ...........
Answer: Look at the mini map on your bottom left. The little "Head" icons are where you want to check. There are no quest markers in Haven(actually I can't even say for sure because I can't remember).
3............
Answer: The "Equip Potions" table IS also the table you craft at. Just drag and drop them to the open slots for each charracter. Scroll through each charracter on th top right of the screen. To "top off" your potions later on just click directly on the potion slot that is needing to be crafted.
4...........
Answer: Drag and drop dirrectly from the skills window to the bar on the right hand side. If that doesn't work then you can also do it on the priorities tab.
But seriously you remind me of my nephew who's 5 years old. That's the kinda patience your showing by coming in here at level 3?

Now whose the troll? What's circled in that picture is something that cannot be clicked on. And on top of that you're obviously too much of a fool to understand that if you're supposed to click on the map, then Bioware needs to have a tooltip telling the player to do just that.I'm pretty sure this is a troll...
No one can seriously be asking for instructions on how to click the big green icon/text that clearly says "Scout the Hinterlands".
http://guides.gamepr...de.asp?ID=27889
You see the third picture on that link? Where it says "Scout the Hinterlands" in big text? With a big red circle around it? Click it. Then click on the Leiliana card to complete it.
Fact is that Bioware has absolutely no clue how to correctly provide instructions that are supposed to be included instead of trying to use something that is nothing but an observational opinion.
Game is supposed to have detailed instructions when teaching someone how to play.

I don't even know why people are trying to help someone who is being so rude.
Personally I'm just curious what ridiculous argument he'll come up with next for why he can't click on a map.
