IT IS UNEXCUSABLE FOR SOMETHING SUCH AS THE WAR TABLE TO NOT BE FULLY EXPLAINED THE FIRST TIME YOU ENCOUNTER IT IN THE GAME BECAUSE YOU WILL BE USING IT THROUGHOUT THE GAME.

It's inexcusable you can't find out yourself to click the shiny green thing on the map. The ONLY thing on the map. If you need help with that, games aren't for you.

IT'S ALSO UNEXCUSABLE FOR A PLAYER TO BE TOLD TO TALK TO AN NPC, BUT YET SOMEHOW KNOW THAT REALLY TRANSLATES INTO MEANING GO TALK TO A TABLE.

The NPC tells you to go to the table.

It's ALSO INEXCUSABLE TO BE INCONSISTENT IN THE WAY THINGS WORK MEANING IF THERE ARE 3 THINGS THAT DO THE SAME THING AND HAVE 2 OUT OF THE 3 OPERATE ONE WAY BUT HAVE THE OTHER OPERATE DIFFERENTLY,AND ONLY HAVE PARTIALLY EXPLAINED, BUT NOT THE LAST.

What the hell are you on about?

What the hell is wrong with all of you and how the hell do all of you clowns seriouly not understand those basic priciples on how things are put together? But what I wonder is why anyone who questions that missing aspect, gets dubbed by people that there is something wrong with them mentally ?

You are the clown. You don't understand basic principles, like clicking the only clickable thing on screen, and whine relentlessly that they need explanation.

The NPC tells you to go to the table.

I told him that on page 4

Even linked a video showing it.

He said I was lying.

Yeah....

Dear OP: How are you going to manage your future life with all its demands? I can assure you there will be no instructions. How will you manage your WORK? When you go there on the first day and realise no one will tell you every detail of your work and shite, you just have to figure it out? Will you sit there and throw a tantrum and demand that your employer does it, or will you blaim your education for not providing you with every little detail of your work? How will you even find your workplace? There propably are not glowing arrows to lead you to the right door. You even have to SEARCH for the job.

How do you manage to wake up every morning without being strangled by your sheets?

Just curious.

ps. For 99,9% of gamers it is given to click things and see what it does.

Everyone here, please remind me not to invite the OP to diner. I fear I may not only have to explain that we eat with silverware but, also how to use each piece of silverware with each food I serve for the meal, if I ever made that mistake.

Then I'd probably get yelled at for not telling him that he was supposed to eat a salad w/o tomatoes the same way he eats a salad with tomatoes, or that the salad plate was for putting salad on and, the finger bowl was for putting his fingers in if they got a bit of food on them.

I am posting this as a rant, and not for people's two bit opinion about what they think of me or if they think this is a troll topic or whatever. If others are not having problems good for them, I however am so people can keep thier two-bit option of/about me and their option about how they had/have no problems out of this topic.

Now on with the issues and problems I have with campaign:

1. The war table has no instructions. Says perform the scout the hinterlands operation, and then never goes over how the hell you're supposed to do it.

2. Two Haven quests, The right armor, & Requisition for weapons, both tell you talk to an NPC to do them, while not spawning the NPC'S you have to talk to in order to turn these two quests.

3. There is a craft and upgrade armor table, and an equip and upgrade potion table, but No craft potion table.

4. The equip potion table says to click an empty slot to put potion in it, but clicking an empty slot does nothing, and what happens when there are No empty slots, you wouldn't be able to put a different potion, due to there No longer being an empty slots to click as it says to do.

5. There is No way to assign ability/stat points that I know of. I am Level 3 and I have never seen any screen that allows point distribution that I have found. So I guess I have 3 stat points.

Everyone else seems to be getting along fine with the game without "instructions".....

Maker, help us....

Yeah, because we all live in areas with dangerous animals ready to eat us.

What a laughable 'attack' on evolution.

Indeed it is. Fable III to be exact. It took hand holding to a whole new level.

I thought so. I've played that one before.

Not sure if this thread makes me happy or sad...I laugh, but is it a laugh of joy or because I am uncomfortable?

Perhaps we will never know...

I do know this, the OP is either a troll, a 12 year old who has not learned to do the simplest things on his own yet and his parents need to cut that umbilical cord soon or a plain idiot...

People has given you the simplest and most precise instructions for what you where asking for.

But I will take it again, please, if you are serious and really need help with this,  read my instructions, please:

  1. Go into the chantry, keep going straight forward to the room that says "War table", click on it. There will be a loading screen followed by your character entering the room with the advisors.  Then you will get this screen:
    Spoiler

I know, what can they possibly want you to do here? Well, as someone who has played this, trust me on this. Click on the card that says Ferelden. It's the red and yellow one. And you can actually already see the next thing to click on in this image, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
After you click on the red and yellow card. You will see this:
    Spoiler

I know you've alread seen this image and said you could not click on it. Try to not click on the green cloud but on the pyramid.
When you do that this will pop up:
    Spoiler

Note that this is a screenshot from the livestream, the two Bioware employes on the bottom right will not pop up to assist you.
The locks on the two cards on the side means that you cannot use them in this mission, so click the one in the middle.
You will get a cutscene and you can travel to the Hinterlands, the game will even ask you "Do you wish to travel now?"
Click on yes. Just a tip from me .
  2. There has been a problem with NPC's not spawning, Cullen for example would sometimes not spawn. I have marked their locations for you on the map, a hint, if there is a mortar and pestle on the map, you can craft things. Armor, weapons, potions, requisitions:
    Spoiler

If they are not there, quicksave right there (by pressing F5) and then load (by clicking F9) and they should appear.
  3. I am not sure what I can say that others has not said already...the craft potions and equip potions is the same. There is an "upgrade potions table" though but I would wait before clicking that if I were you...Just equip the potions by dragging them to an empty slot, unfortunately you have to do this for every character. When you need more potions, just click on said potion for each character. I don't know how to explain it better. Just click and try! I promise, you will get it.
  4. I think I just answered that..
  5. Nope, unfortunately Bioware did not think we could handle stats....It's unfortunate but they are there.
Just click on ESC (if you are on a PC) to get to the meny and choose "Character record"
    Spoiler

There, I have waisted enough time. I honestly cannot believe I did this, someone in the thread said something about believing in dragons and magic but not in this thread, and I agree.
If you are a troll...I guess cudos on keeping us mildy entertained?
If not....if you really needed help I hope I helped you so that you can go on to enjoying your game.

But seriously...thinking for yourself without the need for instructions every few seconds is not strange, that's the world. And getting instructions for something that should be beyond obvious is not even hand holding anymore...I cannot even say what that is.
Try clicking on things, that's what you are supposed to do.
If you don't want to, then watch a Let's play on youtube instead cause you don't seem to want to play the game anyway.

Bioware have never bothered to explain their mechanics.

That's not quite true, if you go farther back in BioWare's history. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc. had HUGE PRINTED manuals. They provided extensive information on the game–they didn't exactly tell you how to play the game (there were clues). But you got a lot of the D & D mechanics and stats and a lot of lore.

Compare that with DA:I's manual which is listed in-game under 'Extras' where you have to get it from HELP,EA.COM - EA Help, now there's a contradiction, since most of the help comes from the users helping users.

Then there's this bizarre oddity. The codex.  DA:I actually has a codex set for Tutorials–it says, “An Inquisition has to start somewhere. So instead of providing these, you have to 'collect' them in-game. I still don't have the complete set but I guess I'll stumble over them eventually. Card 1 is Status Effects. “Party members and enemies can be affected by (or innately possess) a range of status effects. The list below provides a brief synopsis of general terms...

Where are the instructions?

You're going to seriously try and say that right after you closed the tooltip that says perform the sciut rh hinterlands operation, that it instantly gives you another tooltip that explains how to actually perform that operation.

You really want to try and say that. Ok then this is what
I want you or anyone to to do. Start a new game and once you get to the wartable, and you close the tooltip that says perform the scout the hinterlands operation, to explain exactly what has to be done between clsing the tooltip to getting thesr so called plus signs on the screen.

There is supposed to be a tooltip that explains all this, and there is not.

So people need to quit saying it's explained, because it's not

despite the numerous problems the PC has finding the scout the hinterlands mission isn't one of them its the only bloody icon on the wartable if you can't see it you must be blind........or are you one of those people who needs instructions on how to breathe in order to avoid suffocating?

Ah thank you BSN for the amusing foray into this thread ^.^

Also OP, I don't know what kinds of games you like to play, but I would think that your gamer sense should tingle whenever you see a shiny icon over something. That's usually a sign saying "Click me!"
