Inquisitor is fine but yeesh. Am I the only one that is bothered by hearing "Your Worship" litteraly dozens of times while walking through Skyhold? Kinda makes it hard to roleplay the "undecided" responces to wether you believe you where sent by a freekin GOD or even believe in the chantry or any god for that matter(did I spell chantry correctly?).

 

Which is also why I only take a few party members with me. Gets old having your ARSE kissed allllll the time. Not to mention killing any reason for exploring(that made zero sense now that I read it again )  lessoning the feeling of progressing as this "savior" when you're already treated like a freekin god soo early on(still not what I really wanna say but I honestly can't find the words for it).

 

NOW AJ may like it but yeesh. I think he was being nice in that review because the last one didn't address the fact that you where being basically the savior or something?

People are calling you that because they believe you are the Herald. Not everyone refers to you as your Worship. With a big giant hole in the sky people need something to believe in and some people have chosen you to believe in.

 

I found it quite easy to RP an Inquisitor who didn't want to be called the Herald, there were enough options were she could be exasperated when some asked her about it, that I was happy.

You can't control what other people believe. You can only control what you believe. Given that you're still given plenty of opportunity to disavow being the Herald, this should have no bearing on your ability to RP an undecided. In fact, it can make it more interesting (I know it is playing my Lavallen, who believes in the Creators...definitely not Andraste). 

 

It's cool if you still don't like it, that means maybe the game, at least thematically, isn't for you.

Maybe I'm just missing playing a bad guy and this just rubs it in that I can't.

 

Meh, I just don't like it. In RL I'm quite a humble person, this is just hard to listen to all game long. And I feel like an ignorant, arrogant, arse for NOT being able to stop them from "worshiping" me. You know and say "Mam, I slept with 4 different people in skyhold alone and don't believe in a god other than dalish gods so STFU. I am no SAINT.

Well that's different, I did say that inquisitor was fine. Mr. President would be to. It's just a title like Commander or Corporal in the states or even Doctor.(prolly butchered the spelling on those).

Lets just put this in perspective here. This is what "your worship" means ripped straight from the online dictionary.

 

The feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. Yea right?

 

I meen you would have to ither be the MOST ignorant, self loving, arogant freak on the planet to enjoy someone calling you that OR... nothing. That's why I have a problem with it because It just doesn't fit everything the inquisitor supposidly stands for. I think they may have used the wrong word there. Not sure what it should have been though.

You think the Pope likes to be called "His Holiness" ?

If you are put into a position like the inquisitor you often times don't have much control on what you are called. 

 

 

What other option does he have? 

 

If he went out of his way to tell each and every person in Skyhold to stop calling him that he would come off as an ass. 

 

They call him "Your Worship" because they BELIEVE he is divine. They BELIEVE he was sent by the Maker. 

 

 

You shouldn't get to dictate what people believe, even if you don't like it or believe it yourself. If it makes them feel better or gives them a little hope to call you that who are you to take it away?

That's a fair point I didn't think about the pope and your holyness. Catholics are well.... what they are. Wouldn't supprise me if that originated from one of the Popes themselves.

Though the prefix has lost measure in modern times, historically, it was used as a honorific prefix to anyone who was considered a high authority--especially in a judicial revered role. It basically was a title for someone who was above all (eg. Judges, Law-makers people with high titles), so to speak. Of course, it was and still is used for religious purpose, simply because in some religions, priests, Popes, etc, are considered a high authority--an ear of God, if you will. However, it is not limited to religious use, especially for the Inquisitor. 

 

The Inquisitor is above all because he/she answers to no one. He is the high authority in both functional settings, religious and revered authority. There is ample instances in the game where you can state you are not a religious entity, but that still won't change your rank. You are the Inquisitor and all that implies. It isn't a singular term, so there is no need to link it with being an Andrastian, or any other religious symbol. It is simply a honorific prefix tied to your status, if that helps.

I think Cassandra pretty much summed it up when you join the Inquisition, Regardless of your Quizzy's  beliefs, the people don't really care and are willing to take anything as a symbol.
