It is played in all the Mass Effect's when you access the galactic map.

I hear ya, brother
Absolutely. Something is just so mystical about it. I really do hope they use the same one, or at least give some slightly new touches to it.
It might. Time will tell
I hope we get something fresh to be honest. I love the Galaxy Map theme but I'm sure Sam Hulick would be able to top it. After all he made this piece of music too:
Not exactly on topic, but I really need some input on this track:
Identical to ME2's amazing soundtrack, is it not?

Just wondering. Been pondering if this is just a coincidence.
The galaxy map music should return in every Mass Effect game. It's far too awesome and iconic to be replaced. Also I think NASA and every other space agency should have it as the background music while browsing their websites. ![]()
Speaking of awesome, has everyone heard this fan-made metal cover of Uncharted Worlds?

That is from the LotSB soundtrack. That one also showed up in a recent History Channel documentary about World War Two.
I am kinda torn. I love the old rack but something new could be interesting as well. I think it would be great, if they used the musical theme but changed it up a little. Sort of like a re-interpretation of the song, new but still with elements of the old track.
In the end, it's up to them though, I guess it'll also depend on ho much of reboot the new game will turn out to be exactly. In any case, I do think the GM music is one of the most important tracks in the game as the player will hear it for the longest time usually.
Generally though, the score of the ME series has been spectacular so far and it's only been getting better and better throughout the series. So I am sure they'll come up with something worthwhile.
I want something like the track to return, but I want it to feel a bit different as well. Keep some of those iconic notes, but it just needs something new.
Yeah, it would be weird without it.
I think the game could get away with a new main theme however. I sort of view the last one as more Shepard's theme, than the main theme of the Mass Effect universe,
Uncharted Worlds aka the Galaxy Map theme is the only piece of music I want to return for the new game. I would be pissed if I go to chart my course in the next game and that track doesn't start playing. Where that was sort of a signature of the galaxy map itself, the rest of the soundtrack was more representative of the Shepard/Reaper saga.

That music is the reason I still enjoy scanning planets in ME2
I could listen to it forever.
Yes!
This and Vigil's theme. It HAS to! Music is such an important "finger print" in a franchise. If you want your audience/fans to connect with the new hotness, you have to have strong echos of the familiar. Some of that music is so iconic that there's absolutely no way a good number of tracks won't appear; even if it's a remixed.

Nothing can make that nonsense enjoyable.
Have you launched probes on Uranus?
Uncharted Worlds (aka the galaxy map theme) is an ambiguous track attached to a gameplay mechanic. Vigil is connected to the Shepard Trilogy and should remain that way. It is named after an info dump character from ME1. If Bioware is indeed distancing the next game from any ties to the Shepard Trilogy, they should leave Vigil out of the soundtrack.Yes!
This and Vigil's theme.
Have you launched probes on Uranus?
Yes for new arrangement of Uncharted Worlds or New Worlds.
This makes me want to play ME2 again.
