Petyr Stonehouse (Maisonpierre)

Cool

That was Knight, so now...

Bastard: Petyr Sand (Cool, I'm from Dorne)

Targaryen King: Jaehaerys I Targaryen (Grandson of Aegon the Conqueror and longest reigning Targaryen king, nice)

Dothraki Warrior: Temmo son of Rakharo (Rahkaro... I think that's the name of one of Dany's bloodriders)

As a knight: Ser Harlan Stout

As a bastard: Harlan Snow

As a Targaryen: Aegon I Targaryen

As a Dothraki: Rakharo son of Jhogo

I would totally use any of the above in a Game of Thrones tabletop RPG. Both the knight and the bastard are northerners. House Stout are bannermen to House Dustin and located in the barrowlands, between Winterfell & Moat Cailin.

It would be hilarious if bastards have these kind of families:

son of a gun

son of a betch

son of a hore

daughter of random junk

daughter of balls

daughter of sperm

lol

It seems like the KIng names are the least interesting sounding ones.

The men get twice as many name types. That's unfair! They should check their privilege!

Knight: Kevan Saltcliff.

Hey, not bad.

That's an Ironborn house. One of the Saltcliffs is a supporter of Euron Greyjoy at the kingsmoot.

Wait what why would you want to be iron born? Its the poorest region and the only one that still makes use of slaves. And also every time they go to war they get their asses kicked.

So apparently Liara T'Soni would be named Belandra Hetherspoon if she were a noble ... and the bastard Saren Arterius would be Harlen Waters if he were a, well, bastard.

And Commander Shepard (yes, "Commander Shepard", not John, or Jane ... Commander!) would be Manfred Stonehouse as knight.

Hey, I'm not the one who is doing the choosing. If I end up as an Ironborn, at least it is a House that supports a more rational contender.

But yes I agree, the Ironborn are quite barbaric in nature and not a party I am rooting for, even though I do find them interesting.

There are no slaves in the Iron Islands, only thralls. Although I wouldn't expect a greenlander to understand the difference.

Incidentally, I got House Harlaw myself.

There's also salt wives. Google that lovely term, or you could read the books to learn about them.

And there really isn't a difference between thralls and slaves. Different words sure, but they mean the same thing.

Certainly not; while slaves are bought and sold from one to another, thralls and salt wives must be won by a man's own hand, by paying the iron price. And while the offspring of a slave is doomed to share the same life of servitude as his parent, the child of a thrall is as free as any man on the isles. Such is the Old Way.

And the insinuation that I am not well-read is ill-made; Ten Towers boasts one of the largest private collections of books in all of Westeros.

Do you really think that what you just described does not amount to slavery? Men and women taken by force and then forced to work and raped is not slavery because their kids are free? Seems an awful lot like slavery to me, only with the twist of kids born being free.

As for the ten towers line, I got a good laugh out of that at least.
