Eh? Post-patches I find New Vegas the better game. It's a lot more immersive and deep than Fallout 3. The characters in New Vegas are better developed, quests are more interesting, there's a hardcore mode, and with plenty of different routes and alliances to make the game has a lot more replay value. Not to mention, lot's of guns B)

You should get new vegas ultimate edition it is worth the money and to me new vegas is better than fallout 3 after the patches.

Oh I do enjoy New Vegas NOW - but when I bought it, it was half a game that required extra spends on the DLC to make it whole - THAT is what seriously irritated me the most and put the spending block in place.

Most of the DLC's were good yes, but take vanilla New Vegas vs. vanilla Fallout 3 and there's no doubt I'd rather play vanilla New Vegas - several times. It has a lot more replay value since there are more factions for you to support, more different paths to take. It's a lot more immersive than Fallout 3, expands upon it in most every way. As any sequel should do *cough*

Fallout New Vegas? On my console, it crash at every random encounter in the desert. Never understand all the good review about this game where I can't even access New Vegas!

Never forget that, by pre-ordering their games, you bring to them the opportunity to wake off their e-penis. "My game had more pre-order than your game!" "Never seen a game with so much pre-order before!"

You bring them the marketing material! Because you belive their lies, you give them the opportunity to make shine even brighter a pile of crap!

I suspect even that pre-order make the devs lazy : "With all the pre-order, we don't have to sell a lot more copies. Just release the game and before the first reviews, we will gain enough money to start a new game."

It's only a business... And we are the target.

They don't, people who care beyond giving them a like on their FB page come here, whether they did or didn't like the game. But I hope you were not trying to say, that the critics here on BSN are almost alone in pointing out the game's mistakes whereas the vast majority of the fans think this game is awesome? Because there are similar threads on reddits and basically all video game forums, there are user reviews all over the internet, there are dozens youtube videos, etc... There would be tons of disappointed posts on their FB page too, but there is some USSR level censorship going on (I have seen critical posts being deleted as I was refreshing the page).

But Bioware arent listening to the fanatics, or at least they shouldn't be. They should be listening to the entire fanbase. Just because you care enough to compose a 10 page essay doesn't make your opinion more valid then someone who sends a 20 word tweet. There's a vast number of quiet fans out there who care about dragon age and Bioware shouldn't just be listening to the whiners or people who have a perpetual grudge against them.

Standard rpg is rarely done right but when it is it's much funner imho than a duck hunt shooter with rpg elements.

Baldur's Gate 2 is one of my favorite games ever, but I can't seem to force myself to play it. As much as it saddens me to say; time has left it behind. Too little glorious 3D ducks to shoot I guess. The action element in recent Bioware games is actually a big plus for me both from a gameplay perspective (more exciting and flowing) and a RPG perspective (more realistic combat adds to immersion).

Rather than the traditional fantasy route, I would have much preferred a steampunk setting with mix of magic and old technology, or a fantasy/horror RPG. The Tolkienesque charm has lost it's luster, partly because it has been so over done, right or not. Perhaps even partly due to Bioware's "edgy" mistreatment of (normally snooty) elves, starring them in the role as the diminutive medieval serfs (everyone loathes peasants), misguided bigots, and finally by breaking their shoulders/arms. Now that is truly adding insult to injury...or the other way around rather.

After the absolute and total piles of crap that were Evolve and Destiny I will only pre-order games that are guaranteed to be great.

- Elder Scrolls anything

- Arkham Knight

- Handsome Collection

- Fallout anything

- Dragon Age anything

That is all I got off the top of my head

Inquisition restored my faith in the series after the disaster that was DA2.

"Elder scrolls anything" BAHAHAHAHAHA. Skyrim is the BUGGIEST game I have every played in my entire life. On console it was almost unbearable at times and I had several game-breakers. At least on PC there are community made fixes and patches though. Now that I have it on PC I love it but when I was playing it on the xbox...yeaaaah no. I couldn't believe that a game had been out for so many years and was still that broken.

BioWare should be listening to all their fans, but since they are responding only on Twitter, I would say they are listening to mostly positive feedback and back-patting and that is why I am worried. I never said that one's opinion is more valid because of the length of their posts. But since you brought it up, one certainly cares more for the future of the franchise if he is elaborating on why certain aspects were good/bad or what should be done better and how and so on. It doesn't mean those people like or dislike the game more than others, it just mean they care more than the ones writing "your game sucked" / "10/10, GOTY".

Because Bethesda is lazy.

Vanilla Skyrim was dreadful when it came to bugs (at least I could use the developer console to fix some bugged quests, although it didn't help much), but once the community fixed the bugs for Bethesda and created all those other great mods, it became one of the best gaming experiences for me. Mods can really make a game infinitely better.

I agree 100%. I always though I'd hate skyrim because I'm kinda limited on what I like in games. I like story rich games and thought skyrim had only the merest hint of one. After playing some on xbox though I came to really enjoy it because the game could still be story rich with some imagination on my own part. Then I got it on PC and I still love it. I got Oblivion too and I was stoked that I did, it's also wonderful. They're up in my favourites for very different reasons than bioware games. I don't connect as much emotionally with them but I feel like they work out my creativity and allow me to lose myself in a different way.

I've also noticed that my game likes have expanded a lot since I started playing them. I still don't like JRPG type stuff where you're watching someone else's story with no input but in non RPG games I've gotten more lax and even in RPGs as long as there's some level of control for me with the story and character I'm playing I'm happy. I even played Witcher 2 because it was free for gold and liked it. I couldn't connect with the character at all (not my character + male character = just not someone I can connect with) but it was a fun game.

My experience differs. Played 700+ hrs on Vanilla before adding more than one mod, and did not have any major bugs that were noticed. Then when adding mods, was able to extend the gameplay quite a bit, but this was due to the basic game and DLC being top rate. One of my few pre-orders, and a good one.

Oh I still loved the game, I still do even but I found it to be very very buggy.

One of my best friends is a HUGE Bethesda fanboy, like he's to Bethesda what I am to Bioware. He flat out says "When Bethesda releases a game that isn't broken we'll know they don't love us anymore."

I will never NOT pre order an elder scrolls game.

Bethesda, Gearbox (Borderlands), and Bioware (ME3 ending excluded) have far and away earned my trust as a consumer.

I really only pre-order Bioware games. We have a limited budget and my husband gets to be the one who buys video games so aside from my Bioware loves I usually stick with waiting until I can get something super cheap. I don't mind, Gaming is really his only passion and I have a lot of other ones.

Understandable.

I just have no self control or patience when it comes to those particular games.

That's good though! It means you really love them. ^_^

I think if Bioware announced tomorrow that preorders for ME4 were open I'd go sign up immediately. There's just nothing like knowing that when that game you really want comes out, you'll already have it!

Yeah, they are listening on Twitter more than on their official feedback forum. It doesn't show us people should be more careful with their wishes, it shows us the disconnection between BW and their fanbase.

Frankly considering how hostile and negative people can get here I can understand why the developers don't visit these forums.  Even people who consider themselves diehard Bioware fans don't really visit these forums, hell we couldn't even get a thank you thread started without people spewing garbage at the team without actually adding anything constructive.

Yeah, I wasn't really into open world games and still not quite am, BG2 was my first RPG and ever since that I have always prefered BioWare RPGs to any other RPG games (now this is probably going to change to some degree, since I will look more into indie RPGs often made by ex-BW devs who couldn't put up with the corporate BS anymore). But I really liked Skyrim from the moment I stepped in, I would have even loved it from the beginning, be it not for those bugs. But then mods came in, thousands of them. I really admire what fans can create if given the tools, sometimes to the point I can't even fathom how someone who had never worked as a game dev could have created this. There are new mods for Skyrim being released to this day (for DAO as well for example) and that is absolutely amazing. I wish more developers would let people mod their games, it is only to the benefit of the community.

Witcher holds a special place in my heart, it is not my favourite RPG game ever (BG2 or ME saga is), but it is based on really good books I have read many years ago and it is a game developed by a studio, that actually treats you like a customer. I like to support that policy in return and would love to see more people do it as well, since it is a cause worth our support in today's world.

My first ever RPG was Neverwinter Nights. I went back and played BG 1&2 after and I still love them. Skyrim modding is amazing, I've made a few small mods for my own enjoyment and for the practice of coding and minor development in skyrim, dragon age, and the sims communities and it's really fun. It's not as hard to get started as you'd think!

Just one look at the nexus and it's mind-blowing how people can put so much thought and detail. These days my mods are so much a part of my gaming experience that I think the game might feel naked without them. I could still play xbox skyrim but the whole time I think my mind would feel like the small aesthetics and lore features I'm used to were missing.

BW not responding and not acknowledging major issues only adds to the frustration and anger. Quite frankly it is a vicious circle, if BW keeps ignoring this forum, the frustration will only rise and then BW devs might be even more discouraged from coming here. But I feel they are the ones who have to do the first step. When they are publically selling something, they have to count with people being dissatisfied and when they screw up (and they know when they do, they are not stupid) they have to count with people being pissed.

You could also say that the other way around - there are non-hateful constructive criticism feedback threads that attract staunch defenders who are often completely oblivious to everything the game does poorly. And thanks to their ignorant argumentations and complete lack of empathy they manage to stir up emotions and turn those useful thread into something hateful as well.

They have the Patch Beta program and that has private forums where the developers are communicating with the people who signed up to test the patches.

I believe that counts as communicating with the fanbase and using there feedback

no never again DA:I is the first Bioware game that disappointed me this much

ME3 and DA2 weren't perfect but still A LOT better than the boring DA:I at least they still had the things I liked most

in Bioware games

I yearn for the DA:O and ME2 days but they are over

a good story with awesome characters? nope we have da: skyrim now

sry Bioware not with me

sadly it seems many people like this new direction

with all the positive reception and gaming awards (which are underserved, almost every Bioware game deserved GOTY but not this ****) its very clear that they will continue with this bad approach

Everyone has there own opinion which is good, for Inquisition I enjoyed it but feel there is room for improvement, though at the same time I can understand wanting to try a different style as you don't want to keep recycling the same thing.

But the only true way to stop the Pre-Order culture is to cut off the head...... Call of Duty <DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNN>

Agreed the only issue i had with Vanilla Skyrim was a sound issue i had to set before it would run the game, after that i didn't have too many issues with it..

My issues came with ESO though...

I yearn for the DA O and Mass Effect 1 days but i know they will never return those games will never be beaten by Bioware sadly..

Oh how i miss my Mako...

It was a thing of beauty.
